This sounds like something Godzilla fans should be excited about. Deadline report that a TV series based on Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour's Enormous is in the works at Fox Television, with Andrew Poltkin of New Regency TV and Prime Universe’s Adrian Askarieh on board as Executive Producers. Enormous started out as a one-off graphic novella in 2012 before getting a comic series last year, and has actually already been developed as a live-action web film (see below) from Trollhunter's Andre Ovredal and directer Ben David Grabinski. The story deals with humankind facing extinction after and ecological cataclysm "spawns colossal beasts unlike anything ever witnessed." The main character is Ellen Grace, who leads a search and rescue team through the monster-infested streets in an attempt to rescue some children. There she discovers that the real danger comes from, you guessed it, other humans.

Machinima released the first episode of their new web-series Enormous, which deals with a world overrun with giant monsters and a group of surviving humans who are dedicated to fighting back. This is a fun series with an old-school movie kind of vibe to it, and I think a lot of you will enjoy what it has to offer.
It's based on the graphic novel of the same name by Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour. This first episode was directed by Ben David Grabinski (Cost of Living short) from a script by Trollhunter director Andre Ovredal.
The film picks up years after E Day, the worldwide attack of massive insect like beasts, as the remaining humans from all walks of life must band together to survive and fight back against the monstrous invaders. Viewers are introduced to Ellen (Ceren Lee), a mother who has lost her child, and watch as...

PARIS -- The Secret, Vincent Perez's remake of Yojiro Takita's Himitsu (1999) transposed to small-town America, is a variation on the afterlife dramas in such films as Ghost (1990) and Birth (2004). The success of such movies suggests this mainly French production could generate moderate ticket sales.
The premise is that, on the point of death after a horrendous road accident, a mother is able, in order to remain close to her husband, to transfer her soul into the body of her teenage daughter.
Samantha (newcomer Olivia Thirlby), or Sam to family and friends, is a typical 16-year-old -- bright, outgoing, but occasionally surly toward her parents, particularly her mother Hannah (Lily Taylor) whom she accuses of treating her like a child. It is her peevishness that distracts Hannah while she is driving, causing the accident that sees both rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
Hannah dies. Sam lives, but with Hannah's memories and consciousness. Hannah's distraught husband Ben David Duchovny) is incredulous when his wife speaks to him through Sam's lips, but is finally persuaded that Hannah is still around though located in his daughter's body.
A close, loving couple, they decide that Hannah should resume her daughter's studies so that when and if her daughter returns from whatever limbo she finds herself in, she may be able to slot back in as she was before.
This means her having to mix in with, and in the case of the testosterone-driven young males Justin (Corey Sevier) and Ethan (Brendan Sexton) face amorous advances from, Sam's college friends. Meanwhile Sam's guidance counselor Tara (Macha Grenon) starts taking a sympathetic and then distinctly friendly interest in Ben, triggering a bout of jealousy in Hannah.
The complications set in, not the least of them being the issue of conjugal relations. Ben makes it clear to Hannah early on that sex is out because it would be dangerously close to incest. As the frustrations mount, she complains: "I can't get laid." Ben responds: "I know the feeling". The filmmakers decide to play story of thwarted romance straight, but at times like these the dialogue smacks of Woody Allen.
As the movie gears up for the inevitable bittersweet ending, we feel briefly for Ben and the confusion he faces in his dual role as husband and father to two women apparently inhabiting the same body. Duchovny's playing of Ben is too wooden, the screenplay's handling of the life-and-death issues too prosaic and the ending too contrived and sentimental for the movie to be truly affecting.
On the plus side, Thirlby does an excellent job in the mother-daughter role, one minute a graceless schoolgirl, the next a mature, married woman stuck inside a teenager's body. Cinematographer Paul Sarossy adds the requisite sheen, while Perez, an actor making only his second feature, knows enough not to overdo the sugar coating.

NEW YORK -- ''My Father Is Coming'' is nothing to get too excited about. It is an off-beat attempt to make an off-beat film, but it tries so hard to get off the beaten path that it goes nowhere.
German filmmaker Monika Treut's questionable homage to New York City, particularly the East Village, is fun in parts, slow in others and ambiguous overall.
Still, its forced hipness and the fact that it's a ''different'' kind of film may appeal to the art-house crowd. The inclusion of porn star Annie Sprinkle and her massive mammaries may lure some unsuspecting lustful viewers, though this is no porn flick.
What it is is an outsider's depiction of the downtown Manhattan scene, and a myopic view of the apparently never-ending sexual revolution. If only there were a real story to go along with this . . .
The film revolves around Vicky (Shelley Kastner), an actress and waitress who seems distressed that her father, Hans Alfred Edel), is coming from Germany to pay her a visit. When he does arrive we can see why.
Hans is a stuffy, prudish, opinionated man who criticizes Vicky's entire existence. For this reason Vicky forces her gay roommate, Ben David Bronstein), to pretend to be her husband. (It's not a very convincing performance.)
Accompanying Vicky on one of her auditions, Hans is outraged to discover it is for a porn film. He changes his tune, however, when the film's star Annie Sprinkle) ingratiates herself by going to the bathroom in front of him. A minute later Hans lands himself a job in a commercial, much to Vicky's envy and chagrin.
The rest of the film is a disjointed series of encounters, sexual and otherwise, with a lesbian, a male transsexual, drag queens, a body piercing guru and some unusual people as well.
It's all supposed to be a mind-opening journey for both father and daughter, but someone definitely loses the map along the way.
Sometimes using non-actors gives a film a natural quality, but in this case all it adds is bad acting. Kastner as Vicky, the would-be actress, is the only one who truly passes the audition. Not that there is much call in this film for any real acting, but Kastner is the only credible element to be found. This is her film debut, and she demonstrates a raw sensuality that holds promise for future performances.
''My Father Is Coming'' is not an unpleasant film, except for the unwatchably gross scene with the pierced Fakir Musafar. There are several lines of dialogue and an occasional visual that make us laugh or at least smile. It's just that much of what appears in this film seems to have been randomly placed for no discernible reason. A film doesn't always have to make sense, but if it goes that route then it should at least be distracting enough so you won't mind.
