It’s certainly a good time to be a Taskmaster fan. Series 15 had one of the best casts yet, becoming an instant fan favourite (and making the top 5 of our series ranking), and series 16 has a seriously promising line-up. Channel 4 has confirmed we’re getting at least six more series of Taskmaster-y goodness over the next three years, and the show is even getting its first spin-off: Junior Taskmaster, fronted by former Taskmaster alumni Rose Matafeo and Mike Wozniak.
Now that Junior Taskmaster is confirmed, there’s been a rumour that there’s a second spin-off on the way: the culinary-themed Foodmaster. If rumours in The Sun are true (!), there’s a pilot in the works already for this foodie version of the show, but Greg Davies and Alex Horne aren’t on the menu.
What if this is true and – more importantly – what if this is just the start?...

This week, the BBC announced the latest Blue Peter presenter – wheelchair racer Abby Cook – making her the 42nd presenter in the 65-year history of this wholesome children’s entertainment show.
Blue Peter is famous for being the longest-running children’s TV programme in the world, as well as for its iconic badge, and its notoriously disastrous time capsules.
But in amongst the strange craft projects, ‘fun’ facts and sometimes controversial competitions, Blue Peter had some real geek gems:
Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill Met a Tortoise and Ate Star Wars Stew (1980)
Through a 2023 lens, this seems like a fever dream, but against the odds it all actually happened. To celebrate the release of The Empire Strikes Back, the Blue Peter team treated us to an appearance from R2D2, a strangely silent C3P0, ‘hairy old Chewbacca’ and Darth Vader.
Then the real fun happens: Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill...

Eamonn Holmes has claimed that some of his ex-colleagues are “dead” to him.
The presenter has previously spoken out against his former employer ITV, after leaving his role as a host of This Morning in 2021.
Speaking to co-host Isabel Webster on his Gb Newsprogramme on Wednesday (18 January), Holmes suggested it was sometimes “good not to like people” and “good to have revenge”.
The subject came up during a discussion about Shakira’s recent “diss track” aimed at the singer’s ex, Gerard Pique.
“You talk a good game about this,” Webster told Holmes, on the subject of revenge. “You do, you talk a good game about it but actually, all the people in your life that you’ve had ding dongs with in the past, you’re on great terms with now when I think about it.”

Former UK TV presenter John Leslie has been found not guilty of sexual assault at a trial in London.
The 55-year-old was accused of grabbing a woman’s breasts at a Christmas party in 2008, a complaint which was lodged to the police in 2017.
Leslie, once a prominent UK TV personality, began his career in 1989 on the BBC’s popular kids’ show Blue Peter show. He went on to host Wheel Of Fortune, This Morning and the UK version of Survivor.
According to reports from the court Leslie collapsed in tears on hearing today’s verdict. He had described the accusations as “ludicrous and crazy”, adding he had been made suicidal after the loss of his TV career and media reports about him.
His former co-presenters Anthea Turner and Fern Britton were among his character witnesses in the trial.

UK kids wouldn’t have survived the 90s without The Crystal Maze, Knightmare, Gladiators and more…
Remember boredom? Boredom was to a nineties childhood what stress is to modern adulthood – a constant and inescapable presence, relieved only by television.
See related Gotham season 4 episode 7 review: A Day In The Narrows
The difference is, even television could be boring in the nineties. Grown-ups exclusively watched One Man And His Dog, The Budget and Ballykissangel, the sort of programmes that gave you Sunday-night-dread any day of the week. Try as you might to escape border collies, Kenneth Clarke and priests having harvest festival scrapes in picturesque Irish villages, it simply wasn’t possible. There were no streaming services to come to your rescue. Video rental was a birthdays-only treat. What else were you supposed to do? Read?

The Gerry Anderson toys that arrived in the 1990s may have been a little bit shonky, but they provided hours of fun...
Millions of years ago, in 1992, the BBC made a very wise decision: it broadcast the Gerry Anderson series Thunderbirds on its second channel. Back in those days BBC 2 on Sunday mornings (and 6pm weekdays) appeared to be curated entirely for geeks, with episodes of Star Trek, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica and further Gerry Anderson series such as Stingray and Captain Scarlet being broadcast alongside Shooting Stars and This Morning With Richard Not Judy. It was hella formative.
The renewed popularity of Thunderbirds had led to Matchbox releasing a Tracy Island playset. This became a must-have Christmas item, to the extent that fights were reported over the remaining sets in stores. With supply failing to match demand Blue Peter - the BBC’s flagship-show-named-after-a ship’s...

The blonde beauty filed for divorce from Grant, 53, two years ago amid allegations he'd embarked on a year-long affair with socialite Zoe De Mallet Morgan, 27. The 55-year-old presenter has claimed it was as though her entire life had been turned upside down when she decided to end her marriage to her second husband amid reports he'd been unfaithful. Asked if she was open to love again, she said: ''I'd be fibbing if I said there wasn't a part of me that was open to someone coming into my life, but it would be wrong to say that I'm not massively protective of my heart. Love was in the air on the special Stand Up To Cancer edition of First Dates tonight as Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter found romance on the show.
Jorgie was set up with 31-year-old personal trainer Craig and opened up about her belief that men will leave her because she grew up without her father around.
But there were lighter moments, too, as Jorgie tried to play it cool and the duo giggled about whether or not they fancied each other.
They eventually agreed to meet up again - and are now dating, with Jorgie even taking Craig to the Soap Awards.
Less successful in the First Dates restaurant was Anthea Turner, who said she had a "lovely lunch" with 50-year-old Jeremy but decided he was too well-behaved - and his dislike of brown sauce proved to be a dealbreaker.
Elsewhere, Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing had a shaky start...

Across the land, minor celebrities are downing vitamin pills and drinking lots of milk. With shards of famous bones scattered across the Alps after the carnage of The Jump, Gemma Collins's bruised breasts implanted in our memory forever after Splash!, and Davina gingerly putting herself back together after her heroic trek for Sport Relief, everyone needs to make sure they're in tip-top condition before their agents call nervously about the next celebrity reality show.
But with these shows getting more and more dangerous - we're talking broken bones now - what on Earth will Sinitta and Mark Wright be putting themselves through next? Digital Spy has looked into its crystal ball to find out...

We've been entertained by tears, tiny trunks and tons of Tom Daley, but sadly it couldn't last. Splash! concludes its second series tonight (February 15) with an all-male final, and we at Digital Spy are going to savour every single minute we have left.
Diversity young 'un Perri Kiely is favourite to win, but Paralympian Richard Whitehead, Towie hunk Dan Osborne and Boyzone star Keith Duffy could certainly give him a run for his money.
Join us from 7.20pm for all the diving action and (fingers crossed) more wardrobe malfunctions in our live blog...
20:50Well, there you go. Splash! is over (*whisper it* possibly forever), and all that's left is the customary end of series leap into the pool. Although we wish Gabby wasn't so precious that she needed to stick on a swimming cap. Thanks for joining us, gang! Night night!

The duo got on the phone to reporters this morning to talk wipe outs, injuries, who they're backing to win and much more, so read on to find out what they had to say...
How are you feeling today?
Ritchie: "The pain is spreading through my body! I can't lift my arm above my head. My back hurts and my knee - I'm developing a limp."
Anthea: "Ditto what Ritchie's said. Achy - everything aches. We've all just switched off and collapsed now - it's like somebody has put a pin in a balloon. But great - I've had the most fabulous time and didn't think I'd quite get this far so I'm really,...

Kimberly Wyatt has been eliminated from The Jump.
The former Pussycat Doll exited the show after losing out to Steve Redgrave in the live jump.
Wyatt jumped from the K24, the medium slope, but her distance of 14.5m was deemed a foul after she fell shortly after landing.
Her disqualification left ex-Olympian Redgrave, who jumped last and did not compete in the evening's main event due to a hand injury, with the task of only having to land a qualifying jump to progress.
His solid landing after travelling 9m was enough to take him through to the semi-final, joining Anthea Turner (13m) and Ritchie Neville (11.5m).
Six celebrities took part in the speed skating event in tonight's (January 31) programme.
Comedian Marcus Brigstocke triumphed in the head-to-head races, with Joe McElderry finishing in second place.

The Jump has lost another contestant as Flash Gordon star Sam Jones has been forced to pull out of the show.
The Channel 4 competition - which sees various celebrities battling it out in winter sports and live ski jumps - has already seen Tara Palmer-Tomkinson decide to quit.

Courtney Love's memoir
The question is not so much "what will be in Courtney Love's book?" as "what could possibly be in Courtney Love's book that she hasn't already spoken/ranted/raved about?" Still, her self-titled autobiography has been described as "too crazy not to be true" and should provide her definitive take on her time with Hole and her doomed relationship with Kurt Cobain. It will also, hopefully, spill previously unspilled beans on her relationships with Billy Corgan and Steve Coogan. Oh, and according to an interview she did with Rolling Stone, it was inspired by Russell Brand's My Booky Wook. The mind boggles. Tj

He said: "It started well for me and I thought you were in your stride but it kind of ended up livin' la vida locked-in syndrome because you were throwing everything away."
Ofcom has received 24 official complaints about Gardiner's remark on Sunday night (January 27), reports The Sun.
Jason Gardiner initially defended his comments, tweeting: "I think it's good to bring taboo topics into the open."
However, he later said sorry for his remark, saying: "I sincerely apologise for any offence caused. That was never my intention."
