The Howling series has continued to prove popular amongst the horror fans and has spawned seven sequels following the ground-breaking original in 1981. A new book written by Bryn Curt James Hammond, called The Complete History of the Howling, gives a detailed behind the scenes account regarding all eight films and the original book series which inspired them. The book includes new interviews with surviving cast members, never before seen photos and a new unofficial story arc by Nick Stead (Hybrid). Released by Miami Fox Publishing, this is the definitive guide to the most popular werewolf franchise of all time.
I often find the history behind the making of a film can be just as interesting as the film itself and when it comes to some of the sequel in the howling series, possibly even more so. I was intrigued when I heard about the upcoming book The Complete History of...

In my mind, I have always found Exorcist III not only scarier than the original film. Ever since I saw the film on home video in the 90’s, I think the film becomes even more haunting as I get older. Later, I heard that Blatty, the author of The Exorcist and the writer/director of Exorcist III, had to re-shoot an ending that included an exorcism which was mandated by the studio. For years, a “director’s cut” has been on the whispers of genre fans worldwide. Late last year, I found a tasty morsel of information that this rumored “director’s cut” was happening. Bigger genre sites picked it up immediately after our little site was the first to dig up the info from the source, TheNinthConfiguration.com, some credited us to finding the info and bringing it to the attention of many, most of the sites didn’t attribute us.

"Star Wars" fans fall into three camps: those who were old enough to see the original trilogy in theaters, those who grew up with the original trilogy on home video, and then audiences who didn't discover the franchise until the prequels arrived. For the folks that did first experience the "Star Wars" mania of the late '70s and early '80s, it can be hard to describe, but this little video on YouTube should help. Read More: Watch Complete 'Star Wars' Deleted Scenes From 'A New Hope' Through 'Revenge Of The Sith' Doing the rounds now, it was actually a couple of years ago that William Forsche uploaded an audio recording he made of going to see "Star Wars" with his Mom. Yes, this is super dorky, but it is an interesting glimpse into how crowds were absorbed by George Lucas' sci-fi blockbuster. You can skip...

Long before his death behind the wheel of what is said to be a cursed Porsche 550 Spyder in 1955, cultural icon James Dean appeared as Frankenstein's monster in the Fairmount High School play "Goon with the Wind."
William Forsche recently uploaded a very rare image of Dean in full make-up as one of cinema's greatest creations to his Facebook page. Take a look at the goods below.
2014 is looking to be the biggest year for the Frankenstein monster yet with several films being released based on Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's titular literary character. Shelley crafted her tale, Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus, way back in 1818. How's that for staying power?
Unless you're either really young, really stupid, or have been living under a rock, you should know the story of Victor Frankenstein's monstrous creation and the havoc it caused, which has enthralled generations of readers and inspired countless writers of horror and suspense.

Ghostbusters 2 is definitely the inferior of the two Ghostbusters films, but I still enjoyed it as a kid, and my kids also enjoy watching it today. So even though it isn't better than the first it still has entertainment value. For those of you like myself who enjoy watching behind the scenes footage from films, then you will probably think it's cool to check out this 47 minutes of footage of the film that was released by special effects artist William Forsche. The footage includes stuff from the set of the film with actor Billy Murray and director Ivan Reitman, as well as FX tests and actual FX production of the film with characters such as Slimer. There is some great stuff here definitely worth watching. So check out the behind the scenes video collection below and tell us what you think!

Studio produced Epk featurettes usually suck. From time to time, we post B-roll footage on the site (usually in Page 2) because I love watching the making of a movie in the unedited form. I've always loved the cinema verite-style film documentaries, but they're rare. Special effects artist William Forsche has posted 47-minutes of fly on the wall behind the scenes footage from the set of Ghostbusters 2. Forsche shot the footage during FX tests and actual FX production of the film. We get to see the effects team putting together the suit operated animatronic puppet Slimer, director Ivan Reitman working out a ghost-heavy sequence with the effects team and star Bill Murray, the prosthetic make-up being applied and filming of the moving Vigo painting segments, model builders recreating a New York City subway tunnel in miniature for the subway of slime sequence, and much more. Hit the jump to watch the videos now.
