The Lost (II) (2006)

Excellent American visceral drama
27 March 2006
I saw this film in the Sitges film festival. I like very much. It's a very realistic and visceral drama in the same style of David Cronenberg's a history of violence, Clint Eastwood Mystic River or Sam Peckinpah Strays dogs. The direction & the actors are amazing. The dramatic a violence scenes are excellent & the music that accompanies to them it's great & ideal. The edition of this film are amazing, totally moved away of the video-clip style. The photography is in the same quality of the edition of this movie. The character & the acting of Marc Senter is amazing ... it's in the same style of Christian Bale's Patrick Bateman. Great adaptation of the Jack Ketchum book & excellent American drama.

Mission complete for a bad movie
6 December 2005
I saw this movie yesterday. I don't like nothing in that movie. The direction of Lynn Bousman is a fusion of a television style and bad B series direction. The acting is terrible bad but is worst the characters of this movie you can't to get along with anybody, the music is inexistent and the final song is a metal crap. The script is awful. I enjoy very much with the first movie ... but in this sequel wished that it finished ... the ending is ridiculous ... it tries to discredit the first film. I don't understand the others reviews ... is a bad movie. The violence is low ... and I think is little explicit it compares with other movies of this quine of genre.

woody come's back a better than ever
8 November 2005
A saw this movie last Friday night ... and blow me away. I don't expect nothing that matter in this film ... I expect there wasn't a comedy and it was right ... this an extraordinary noir thriller. I like the Britain cast and the psychology and characteristics of the characters. Allen analyze perfectly the bourgeois society and the worker class. The actors are great specially Scarlett Johansson and the facial performance of Jonathan Ryhs-Meyers. And the script is one the best of this American director ... the pleasure, the photography, the classic music, and the final chapter of this film are brilliant. Well come back Woody.

Don't miss this one!

Another little British gem. Maybe I should have given it a ten, but almost nothing deserves a ten. Well, maybe Lord of the Rings. This is a very funny, very realistic film about everything that can go wrong and does while filming a TV show. Behind all that glamour and slickness you've got poor Bill Nighy, the director, trying to satisfy the producers and the writer and actually get this one scene filmed. And Tom Courtenay, a bit player who only has one line to say: a whole sixteen words he's been memorizing in his sleep. Both performances are superb, as are all the performances in the film. It is very funny, eccentric as only British film can be, and very realistic. I would recommend this film very highly, especially to those who are very critical of films without realising just what goes on behind the scenes. One of my kids works in film, and has told me what amount to horror stories about how difficult and frustrating doing a shoot can be. So while this film is really very funny, and a very good example of Murphy's Law, it is also realistic.

Sin City (2005)

The best adaptation
30 June 2005
Hello I'm a Spanish guy. This movie release in my country when the movie release in DVD in America. But I watched this movie in a pass of distributors. This movie is the best visual adaptation of the comic material ... and the Frank Miller's world. The adaptation of Batman Begins it's OK ... but the essence of the Frank Miller's world I didn't see in Batman Begins ... but in Sin City it's visible in the entire movie. The story and the screenplay it's exactly the same thing that the comic book. The cinematography and the visual effects are perfect for the structure of the comic book ... the visual effects there aren't in this movie for entertain or amuse there are for built the world of sin city. The co-direction of Robert Rodriguez & Frank Miller are amazing, the editing it's energetic and the musical score from Rodriguez & co. it's wonderful for this movie genre. Some of the actors of this movie are excellent: Mickey Rooke, Bruce Willis, Benicio del Toro, Ruther Hauer, Eli Wood, Rosario Dawson & Clive Owen. But there are bad actors witch other movies: Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy, etc ...

The movie it's great ... the best adaptation from comic material ... I like to see the second movie of this future trilogy.

One of the best gangster movies in the new century
23 February 2005
I talk with my friend for this film the other day. I liked this film very much the day I watched in the theater & much better when I saw this film another time on DVD. The Conrad L. Hall cinematography is amazing & the colors, shadows a lights are finest. It's very comic, but at the same time very dark & adult cinema. The Sam Mendes direct's are excellent for the second movie he made. The first it's a totally classic. "American Beauty" The Thomas Newman score it's very poetic and complex. The instruments mix are very beautiful. The actors are amazing in different levels. I love the Tom Haks character, Paul Newman are incredible for the boss, & Jude Law looks very lethal. I love this movie a lot & I consider the cult classic of the 2000 movies. I haven't seen a decent gangster movie since Goodfellas by Martin Scorsese & Miller's crossing by Coen Brothers.

Charanda battle for love
14 February 2005
Hello friends ....

Past Friday I saw the house of flying daggers. It's the new Zhang Yimou movie. It's about love triangle. It's not action movie ... but there are a lot of battles, great battles, the choreography and the visual effects are amazing. The Zhang Yimou directs are lover of detail and beautiful. The photography it's very pretty, the director of photography plays very well with the natural colors of the clothes, vegetation and the weather. The principal actors Andy Lau (Internal Affairs), Takeshi Kaneshiro (Returner, Onimusha 3) and Ziyi Zhang (Hero) play these parts very well. I accomplish very well they works to do theirs relationship realistic.

It's a decent Charanda movie with a theatrical drama. It's a different way to make romantics movies. I advise to watch these movie, to leave stereotypes in home, I watch these movie with respect of the masterpiece it is.

Very long .... but is OK
8 February 2005
Un long Dimanche De Fiançailles .... what is this name? I saw the movie, but I can't understand this title. First I like said. This movie is a good war movie, the war sequences are amazing, the extras, the photography, the miniatures effects and the edit of this sequences are excellent. The directs are excellent too & unnecessary in some occasions. In the war scenes the directs are excellent, but in drama sequences, there is a certain Amelie deja vi. This is the principal problem of this movie doesn't like perfect. Jean-Pierre Jeumet wants to arrive at all type of public, for this, introduces the re carnation of the Amelie in the new character Mathilde. But Jean-Pierre mistake this time, this is not a fantasy movie it's a war movie. The actors are OK, in the war sequences excellent and the drama sequences OK. The Angelo Badalamenti score is very good.

One of the best .... but not the best
5 February 2005
Hello my friends.

The first thing what I go to say. It's the Million dollar Baby it's a wonderful drama. The acting is amazing: The middle blind man & ex-boxing Morgan's Freeman character is very sweet and clever, the boxing coach & depressive man Clint Eastwood character it's very realistic and clever too, and the girl boxing Hilary S. character it's excellent & lovely. The directing it's faster, and gets the point in the principal story, and don't get out of them. The photography it's perfect and beautiful, the illumination it's the comic style, Clint Eastwood play with the shadows and the lights very well. The music not bad, simple but But it goes identically to the history.

But, yes there is a but ..... The story are simple, Million dollar baby it's one of the best Clint Eastwood movies but it isn't the best movie of Clint Eastwood. Mystic river are more complex than M$B. It's a mix of styles & genres, and the final chapter are amazing it's a work of art.

Boring movie
3 February 2005
Yesterday I went to the movie theater with my mother, because anything can't go with me to watch these biopic of Ray Charles, because the people said the Ray Charles life is nothing to tell. When the movie begins I saw two unique things they would please in the entire movie. First: Jamie Foxx Second: The photography. Nothing more. The movie is too long for which it must explain. Ray Charles blind music, Ray Charles binding with girls & run way the girls, Ray Charles drugging itself. And in this made in Hollywood movie type, some many lies like always. The editing of the movie is well, but the directing it's very slow and boring. Trusth me saves your money, don't buy the DVD, rent the DVD is most cheap.

The Thing (1982)

One of the best horror movies ... CLASSIC !!!
21 January 2005
This movie would have to be in the top 250 best films of the history. It's the best carpenter movie that I have seen in my life. Yesterday I watched the assault of precinct 13 and I like a lot I enjoy very much with the idea: Direct a cop-movie with the style of horror movies.

The carpenter thing is very different of the original "The Thing From Another World" 1951 version. The carpenter directs is better than directs of Christian Nyby.

The characters of Carpenter Thing are very "enigmatic" & the script are very atmospheric & claustrophobic. The Rob Bottin make up it's one of the best make up in the movies history. The Ennio Morricone score it's unbelievable, simple and forceful.

And the end of the movie it's very rewarding. It's and instant classic one of the best horror movies with Ridley Scott "Alien"

Tony Scott +Brian H.+ NIN + Denzel = Amazing movie
18 January 2005
This ultimate movie of Tony Scott with the his first movie THE HUNGER are his best movies ever had in his life. The acting are very emotive and great. The music, the photography & the movie editing are excellent and very artistic. I recommend this movie a lot.... it's a very clever and amazing treatment of the Mexican corruption. The adaptation of Brian H. are very intelligent.

Tony Scott direct (9) Brian H. Scrip (9) Denzel W. (8) Dakota F. (9) Music (9)

The scenes of Denzel Washington speaks Spanish are very funny .... and the character of Christopher Walker are very funny too. The violence in this movie are very well directed. I enjoy and I wish the people enjoy better than I.
