Pet Sematary (1989)
Probably one of three best King- films (in my opinion) (minor spoiler)
23 October 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Stephen King has got a bad reputation...Apparently because the wrong people are working with his books: John Carpenter (don't get me wrong, he is great, but Christine was a flop) just to name one of 'em... an endless stream of crappy films has come out since the mid 80's and up to today: The Mangler, Maximum Overdrive (yes I know Stephen directed this one himself, shame on you)The Running Man and not to mention Pet Sematary II and more... but sometimes his splendid books get translated into cinematic classics...like this one. I think one of the reasons is that Stephen King himself wrote the script. The movie is definitely very scary... It's about a loving family being destroyed when they move in their new house in Maine, right next to a highway where Orinco trucks go by the whole day and most of the night... The movie is much more darker than the book and is delivered with lots and lots of bloody violence (beautiful...One of the scenes that had the most frightening impact on me was the one where Zelda sits crumbled in the corner rises up and runs towards the camera...I almost crapped... Oh, well 10/10

Daredevil (2003)
Dark style, but Defenitly Not Batman
23 October 2003
I think, when Stan Lee created Daredevil back in the '60s he tried to make a superhero just as dark and gothic like Batman. And then, when the movie finally came out 30 years later, you can see that they've tried really hard to make it equael to Tim Burtons masterpiece from 1989. It's not Batman, but close... Let's sum up: Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck) is blinded by toxic waste as a kid, but then his other senses has increased superhuman, and after the tragic death of his father he decides to fight crime as the acrobatic martial arts superhero "Daredevil" at night and as a lawyer at day, but then he meets the beautiful but very dangrous Elektra (played by the sexy Jennifer Garner) and they start a relationship, but after the death of her father she gets changed under the circumstances..., meanwhile the crimeboss Kingpin (Michael Clarke Duncan) is getting really tired of Daredevil and contacts the charismastic and deadly Bullseye (Colin Farrell) to get rid of Daredevil... Sounds very much like a typical comic-book-to-film-script right? And it is, but... The atmosphere is dark, the fight scenes are great and the acting is good. All in all another good comic book film, but nothing more or less...

Another action-packed chapter to the series!
30 April 2003
I've seen all the other Lethal Weapon-films, and I LOVE 'em all. Jet Li gives a great performance in his hollywood-debut as the evil martial-arts criminal Wah Sing Ku. Great performances from the cast all the way through and the usual ping-pong lines between Riggs and Murtaugh.

Great film, not the best, but great

Better than "Bordello Of Blood".... (minor spoilers)
7 April 2003
Warning: Spoilers
I rented this film at my local videostore, after having seen "Bordello Of Blood", and I must say that this one is better. A a matter of fact I asked my videopusher if i could buy it. He said yes, because it was not a title there was being rented anymore. And I have never regreted that trade for a second. In this one you'll find everything you need: Horror, action, black comedy and some sex. Not bad, huh? Anyway, an unknown man named Brayker (William Sadler) is being hunted by the devil Collector (Hillarious played by Billy Zane), Brayker hiding in a little motel New Mexico, Unfortunenately Collector is right in his tail, and he also finds the motel and then begins the battle between Brayker and the other guests against Collector and his demons..... In my opinion this is one of the best horror films of the 90's

Casper & Mandrilaftalen (1999–2003)
Original, funny and crazy!!!
2 April 2003
I bought the DVD without having seen any of the episodes, it was so funny that i'm right now saving money to buy the latest DVD.

At first you really don't understand it, but if you just open up for your crazy inner you'll understand it. Fx. without warning the host Casper Christensen throws a pair of football boots over his head and screams: "Let's get a break!" ´The guests isn't any better, it is the most wierd people you've ever seen before. I especially like the man Lars Krimi, the man without faith on himself. He thinks everything is crap!

The Shining (1980)
Kubricks Horror Classic!
20 February 2003
A few days ago I bought the Danish DVD edition at my local videostore,I had never seen it before and looked forward to it (mostly because when I was 5 years old, my entire family saw it, and I should stay at my room while they saw it) anyway, when I got home and pushed it in my DVD player late at night with the lights off and a bowl of popcorn between my legs I was terrified. It is one of the most creepy films I've ever seen. I just LOVE the music, that gives the film a even more creepy side. The scene that will be on my mind the most is the room 237 scene, a very sensual and spooky scene at the same time. The only thing I misses is the extra 20 minutes that is missing on my DVD, I would really love to see those minutes, but the movie can without a problem be wiewed a lot and lots of times without those scenes it IS a classic!

I also loved the special features:Vivian Kubrick's Making of documentary and the original trailer, I don't know if there is more features on the american DVD, and I surely hope not.

Not Like The Other Bond Movies (Minor spoilers)
4 February 2003
Warning: Spoilers
"Die Another Day" is like a modern James Bond film must be. Nothing more or less. James is this time on a mission in North Korea but right after he has killed the insane colonel Zao, he's captured (Which is very unusual)and is being tortured and being held captured in a long time, but is brought back to England by M but she isn't thrilled by see James again. But is being send to another mission and there he meets the female agent Jinx (Halle Berry) and then the film starts to really have some action.

Many people may think that this is too much with all the sci-fi effects, and the new Bond car who can become invicible and has a weapon arsenal in the trunk. But I loved it, it's maybe silly. But there is gaurenteed entertaiment from start to finish, especially the catfight between Halle Berry and another bitch and all the other martial-arts scenes. And John Cleese gives the movie a funny touch as the new Q.

If you are in the mood for brainless action and fights, then get down to your local cinema, turn your brain off and just enjoy the most action-packed James Bond films (and Pierce Brosnans bes performance) in newer age!

Event Horizon (1997)
Thought That It Just Were Some Other Alien Crap... (Some Spoilers)
19 November 2002
Warning: Spoilers
...I was deadly scared, when I first saw this film, I maked that mistake by seeing it alone and even with the lights off. When I saw the scene where Weir is dreaming that a voice is

whispering "Billy"! I knew that this wasen't another alien-film.

Plot: In the year of 2040 the spacecraft "Event Horizon" dissappeared without a trace. Now in 2047 The U.S Aerospace Command is recieving a distress signal from the ship. It is decided that a search and rescue team leaded by Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne)and the creator of "Event Horizon" Weir (Sam Neill) is sended up to investigate what happened...But when they are arriving they find something evil, so evil it can't be dscribed what i´n words....The only sure way to say it, are: Hell.....

When I saw that the director of "Mortal Combat" should direct a science-fiction\horror film I was thinking: "This can only go bad". Then one day my big brother had rented it. I did not want to see it. But 1½ hour later when it was finished, he yelled at me: "You've Got To See This One" and so i did, as I already have said with lights off.

Good cast, good directing and a very intersting story. But I spotted some rip-offs from Hellraiser (1987) The Shining (1980) and Contact (1997), but who cares, this is scary anyway. Laurence Fishburne is SO cool as Miller and Sam Neill dellivers a stunning performance as the man who is about to me consumed by the evil of the ship.

See it, if you want to jump out of your bed, just by hearing a little noice.

Rated R for Strong Violence and gore.

Dracula 2000 (2000)
What The......?
30 September 2002
Dracula 2001is a embarissing movie, and when I say that I speak as a big fan of the book and Francis Ford Coppolas masterpiece Dracula.

"I don't drink coffee" says Dracula in this movie. A clear rip-off from Francis Ford Coppolas film: "I never drink....wine"

Bottom line: Bad cast, bad plot, BAAAAD movie!

Batman (1989)
A true Burton- Classic!
30 September 2002
In this fantastic film, Tim Burton moves away from the comic universe, that the first Batman-movie was in, and instead creating a dark Gotham, where criminals rules the city. And the cast is just perfect! Jack Nicholson as the psychotic Jack Napier\Joker, Michael Keaton as Batman and Kim Basinger as the beautiful journalist Vicki Vale. One more thing, that also makes the movie so good is the thrilling music from Danny Elfman and the songs is performed by Prince

This movie is the best based-on-comic-book movie that I've ever seen. Right now I'm saving some money to by the DVD edition, because this is a film that you have to own on DVD. So if you have not seen it, then get down to your local videostore and rent or buy this action-masterpiece!

The Matrix (1999)
"My Name Is Neo" (Maybe some spoilers)
21 September 2002
Warning: Spoilers
The Matrix is the fruit of cyberpunk and one of the best action-films of all time.

Thomas A. Anderson (a.k.a Neo)(Keanu Reeves) is a computer hacker who is about to find out that the world he is living in isn't real. It's just a big fantasy world that's been called "The Matrix", when he is waking up in the real world (somewhere in the distant future) he is told by Morpheus (an extremely well-playing Laurence Fishburne) that Neo is "The One" the man who can change Matrix into a better place and destroy the evil agents and.... Phew, there is so much in this film that I have to say "No one can be toled what the matrix is... you have to see it yourself" And the same can be said in the action-sequences.... A wonderful cocktail of slow-motion, smoking machineguns and beautiful cordinated martial-arts.

Anyway this action dosen't cover the fantastic story, so that is why I love this movie, and I can hardly wait for the sequel who is coming sometime in 2003 My vote: 10\10

Much better than M:I (possible spoilers)
21 September 2002
Warning: Spoilers
Don't get me wrong, Brian De Palma did a great job with the first one but... He is not good in action films, where the first one ended with a big actionparty in the end, this one contains action all the way through.

John Woo is the director and Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames reprise their roles as Ethan Hunt and Luther Stackwell. This time, they must stop one of Ethans former colleges Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott) spreading a virus over the world. They hire the beautiful master thief Nyah (Thandie Newton) to help them, because she had a relationship with Ambrose in the past.

John Woo does a fantastic director work. With his original camera angles and violent fight and action-sequences this film become a lot more than just a typical action movie. Tom Cruise again dellivers a great performance as Ethan Hunt, Ving Rhames brings a lot of humor and charm to his charecter and finally Dougray Scott, who fits perfect as the main bad guy. This movie is very good and I highly recommend to everyone who likes a good action movie and meanwhile a great story. What I also love about the film is the chemestry between Tom Cruise and Thandie Newton. Example: When they first discover each other in Spain they become isolated in a lovely way, when the sound is quite and it's all appears in slow-motion. Bottom line fantastic film, it disurves 10 stars!

Fantastic Martial-Art film!
4 August 2002
Not since "The Matrix" have we seen so detailed martial art sequences and meanwhile a great story. Joel Silver has produced and the famous photographer Andrzej Bartkowiak has directed one of the best action films in the new millenium.

Han Sing (Jet Li)is an ex-cop who is sitting in a prison in Hong-Kong, when he hear that his brother is found hanged in the US, Han escapes from prison and goes to America, where he is hoping to get his brothers killer. Meanwhile he falls in love with Trish (Aaliyah), but she is the daughter of the man that Han's father is in battle with (like Romeo And Juliet). Han and Trish are trying to find out of why the to famillies fighting each other, without knowing that it will put them both in great danger.

A very good movie, and i am sure that this will be an action-classic, if you haven't seen it then: WHAT ARE YOU WATING FOR?
