The film is called Oppenheimer, not The Atomic Bomb. That said, it is about the bomb, in that it is about human nature.
An easier to follow Nolan film, I still want to see it again to revisit some dialog. The acting was top notch and a couple of Oscar nods ought to be in store for some.
Another critic talked about the music being present, but not notable. I agree. As with James Cameron, so - so, functional musical scores are a missed opportunity. Think of Leone without Morricone, or Spielberg without Williams.
I recognized people and acts from my own life in this film. I'm no great physicist, but I am a person who has told a story about myself, that doesn't quite mirror the reality of close examination. Which renders the closing of the film even more difficult, because Nolan is right. The atmosphere has been ignited.
