Wall Street (1987)
A movie about greed and the affects it has on man.
19 September 1998
This movie is an absolute masterpiece of epic proportions. Oliver Stone gives us one of his best directing jobs. This movie contains everything from romance to pity, and power to poverty. Michael Douglas plays an amazing character in Gordon Gekko as he won best actor in 1987 for his role. He is a power hungry individual who stops at nothing short of owning and controlling everything in the world. Gordon takes Bud Fox(Charlie Sheen), a young ambitious stockbroker along for the ride as this movie portrays the feelings and emotions of guilt and punishment. This movie is also an educating film in learning about all the information that is collected illegally in the world of Wall Street. Martin Sheen and Daryl Hannah add to this great cast in delivering what is a great story and gripping account of what happens when dreams turn into nightmares. Oliver Stone definitely delivers one of the greatest masterpieces of all time.

A movie/musical about dragqueens singing in the desert.
7 September 1998
This movie was horrible with no plot or moral. There is no basic storyline and it is a poor attempt at humor. The actors are weak and there is no support for their roles. This movie is boring and in no way fun. This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. It is absolutely horrible. The only question left in your mind is who was worse in this film, Terence Stamp or Guy Pearce. You make the call.

A movie about dragqueens that ravel through the desert.
31 August 1998
This movie is horrible. The plot is senseless and is not in any way funny. There is not any hidden humor and the characters are empty and shallow. This movie drags on way too long and never comes to any real point. The characters subject themselves to all the torture they receive and there is no sympathy for any of them. This movie is a waste of time and money and should be seen only by people who love looking at men in womens clothing. This is with-out-a-doubt one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Se7en (1995)
A vicious killer is stalked by two cops who will do anything to catch their man.
6 August 1998
This movie will leave you breathless. A completely grotesque movie that keeps you in suspense from beginning to end. A crazed serial killer will do anything to kill his victims according to the seven deadly sins. This movie is creative and follows the planned murders of seven victims who "deserved" to die. Mills and Sommerset pull out all the stops in the classic horror freak movie. It is cleverly done and the script is written in a way that the actors seem to stay one step ahead of the director. Mills and Sommerset follow along awaiting the final confrontation and David Fincher keeps the viewer waiting to see how the killer completes his tasks. The movie will remain with you for ever as it will change your insight on life's little sins.

Breaking Away (1979)
Four men try to cope with the growing pains of living in "smalltown" USA.
6 August 1998
This movie is a wonderful depiction of four Indiana men who try to grow up and make decisions about their futures. They all have their own problems to deal with but all need each other in dealing with their situations. Being outcasts in town, they turn to each other for hope and understanding. Being "less privileged" than others their age, they learn to make the best of what they have...each other. This is a great movie about growing up and how everyone deals differently with the obstacles they are dealt with. Dennis Christopher leads this all-star cast in a movie that should be watched by the young and old. It is a compelling saga of how these young men conquer the everpresent problem of trying to fit in.

The Boxer (1997)
A movie about love and the passion it has on a man and a woman.
1 August 1998
"The Boxer" was definitely a surprise in more ways than one. Overall, the movie was a compelling story about a man(Lewis) and a woman(Watson) whose love for each other oversees all the obstacles that face them. Lewis plays a boxer who spends 14 years in prison and comes back to find his lost love. She(Watson) is married to a prisoner and deals with all the pressure put on her by her family for seeing Lewis. This movie has a lot of conflict involved with the war between the Catholics and the Protestants. The movie drags along in spots and sometimes keeps one wondering what is going on. It comes together in the end and this movie leaves an impression that will stay with you for a long time. Overall, it enlightens the situation in Ireland, and gives one an insight on what is really going on over there. The boxing scenes are done well, but boxing is definitely not the main theme of this movie. Lewis and Watson give great performances and give the viewer a chance the educate themselves about the crisis in Ireland.

A man who must first learn to live with his past, tries to solve a murder.
1 August 1998
This is not a stellar performance by Tom Berenger. This obvious low-budget movie does not make an impression. The plot seems to have many holes and the story line never really comes together. Berenger, a former cop, and now college professor is lured into finding the killer of a woman's husband and also tries to find the husband's lover. The movie's flashbacks are confusing and never make things that clear. The movie jumps around too much and it never gives the viewer a chance to get comfortable with any one character or situation. This movie falls short of expectations and is one of Berenger's saddest roles and performances. He never seems to be comfortable with his character and it seems way too obvious in this movie.

A movie about two people who try to turn murder into fame.
1 August 1998
This movie was one of the worst movies ever put on the big screen. The plot was weak and gave no insight to reality. This movie tried to get inside you and make one feel the energy of violence. The characters were fake and gave no real insight to the realms of true life. This is classic, violent Stone in him trying to show the affects of violence and the role of the media. Harrelson just doesn't fit into this role as he tries too hard to be "bad." It just doesn't work. This movie is for the disturbed and ones who particularly like violence for no real reason.

A cop tries to clean up the rough streets of Brooklyn.
1 August 1998
Segal is back in action in this full-tilt movie about a cop who is trying to track down a cold-blooded killer and make him pay his dues. Gino(Segal) searches all over Brooklyn for William Forsythe who kills a former friend of Gino's. Forsythe(crazy and on coke) goes all over Brooklyn and kills everyone in sight. Segal does whatever it takes to find him and goes through anyone that stands in his way. The fight scenes are done very well and add a lot of excitement to this movie. Jerry Orbach plays Gino's boss and portrays his role very well. This is one of Segal's best movies besides "Above the Law" and "Under Seige." If you are a Segal fan, you will definitely enjoy this one. It delivers in what action fans expect.

A movie about two men who are on a mission from God.
1 August 1998
This movie is an obsolute masterpiece. John Landis directed this classic in what turned out to be one of the funnest movies of all time. What is so incredible is how Landis got all these major actors and actresses to work together and create a movie like this. Belushi and Aykroyd(Jake and Elwood) are on a mission from God in trying to save a church that owes $5000 in property taxes. Along their "mission" they encounter every obstacle known to man and overcome them all. The musical performances are outstanding and the line-up of singers makes the movie into a musical concert. It delivers over 2 hours in non-stop action and laughs and must be on everyone's "must see" list. You can literally watch this movie hundreds of times and never get bored. This is classic Belushi and to watch him perform his magic on the screen is enough to make you watch this one over and over. Ray Charles, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway, Carrie Fisher, and the rest of the Blues Brother Band are just to the beginning to a wonderful, cleverly done movie. This is a must-own movie!

A movie about an innocent clever man who learns to live within prison walls.
30 July 1998
This is Tim Robbins best performance ever. It is a compelling heart warming drama about an innocent man(Andy Dufresbe) who is sent to prison and learns to use his intelligence to make the best of prison life. He meets a mentor in Red(Morgan Freeman) and they build a friendship that is stronger than the walls that surround them. Andy steadies a relationship with the warden that keeps him in the good eyes of the prison. Andy is full of surprises and uses his resourcefulness to not only win the friendships of his fellow prisoners, but also of the prison guards. Both Andy and Red both hold on to their dream of one day enjoying their freedom. They turn their friendship and dreams of freedom into a bond that no prison could ever take away.

A court-room comedy in which Joe Pesci tries to save the lives of two "yutes".
30 July 1998
Vinny (Joe Pesci) tries to save the lives of two guys who get caught up in a murder deep in the heart of Alabama. Ralph Macchio and Mitchell Whitfield are on their way to college when they get arrested for the murder of a convenience store worker. Vinny and his girlfriend (Marisa Tomei) try to work their New York antics on the court system in Alabama. The Judge (Fred Gywnne) doesn't put up with Vinny's tactics and Vinny gets to spend many "happy" nights in jail. This is Vinny's first case ever and the movie flows along very cleverly while Vinny tries all the tricks of the trade to get the two "yutes" from being electricuted. This movie is very funny and will keep you laughing the whole way through. It will defintely make you think about who you choose as a lawyer the next time your in trouble with the law.

Major League (1989)
A bunch of misfits make a run for the American League Pennant.
30 July 1998
A hilarious baseball movie about a bunch of misfits, cons, and old-timers that make the best of the situation and try to win the American League pennant. The movie offers a lot of laughs as this group of so-called baseball players tries to overcome all the obstacles their owner puts in front of them. Their new owner wants to move the team and can only do so by keeping attendance low. She (Margaret Whitton) pulls out all the stops and tries to deter the Cleveland Indians from winning. Charlie Sheen, Tom Beringer, and Corbin Bernsen lead an all-star cast is this all-out comedy that takes the Indians all the way to the pennant. Bob Uecker plays the Indians play-by-play announcer as the lovable and funny Harry Doyle. He throws in one-liners the whole movie and adds to the overall humor in this film. If your a sports fan and love sports movies, this baseball "blooper" is a great choice.

Armageddon (1998)
An "out of this world" movie based on saving the world from an asteroid.
29 July 1998
What are the critics thinking? When the crowds started to file out, 99% were cheering and raving about this movie. If you are looking to be entertained, which is what movies are supposed to be for, this one is no let down. It comes at you for almost 2 1/2 hours and never backs down. The plot is a little far fetched, but movies are created for your imagination. All the actors and actresses in this movie create an aura that keeps you intrigued and interested for the entire duration. There is action, suspense , comedy, drama, romance, and all the aspects needed to make a fully rounded movie. The big surprise about this movie is the comedy aspect. You will laugh more than you will cheer. Jerry created a great movie that will want to make you come back for more. The only unfortunate part about this movie is that there can't be a sequel.

Brian's back in this action thriller with Joe Torry.
29 July 1998
Brian's latest movie about a drug ring that he and Joe Torry try to stop. In this one, Brain (Joe Elkhart) is double-crossed twice and still gets the job done. Brian returns to his former self which is what got him into the movie business in the first place. After some disappointing movies, he's back and almost better than ever. Brion James co-stars in the movie and portrays his usual conman self. Elkhart was kicked off the force and divorced and is trying to get his life back together with the help of a therapist. He decides that the only remedy to solve his problems is taking action. Hopefully this movie will be a comeback for Brian and lead to many more "Boz" movies.

Stone Cold (1991)
10/10
A movie about outlaw bikers and the undercover cop who takes them down.
29 July 1998
This movie is for pure action enthusiasts. It's a hard-core biker movie about outlaws who control the underground and it's up to John Stone(Brian Bosworth) to infiltrate the gang and shut it down. It is a in-your-face action packed movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Lance Hendrikson(Chains) and William Forsythe(Ice) support the movie well playing the leaders of the biker gang. If your looking for pure-action entertainment value, this movie produces. If you like this movie give "Beyond the Law" with Charlie Sheen a shot. If you like Bosworth, rent "Back in Business" with co-star Joe Torry. It was originally made to be the sequel to "Stone Cold", but was later changed.
