After monumentally losing this years ratings battle with ITV’s The X Factor, Strictly come Dancing are already planning on how to improve next years series.
One idea is to draft in some sexier professional dancers and show bosses are reportedly hoping to recruit American Dancing With The Stars dancer Derek Hough.
A Strictly source told The News Of The World: “They’ll pair him with a hot female celeb to make sparks fly. The veterans like Brendan Cole and James Jordan will feel very threatened.”

Overrated films are an interesting breed. They are essentially the type that everybody goes crazy for until consideration, time, thought and retrospect force us to reassess the situation. They are, by and large, the product of Hollywood: though by no means exclusive. However, Hollywood films are the most hyped; the most seen; the most heard. They are garnered with awards and flattery and the cycle begins again. Is it genius of deception or commerce?
Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane is often labelled as “the greatest film ever made”. It will not appear in this list. It is not an overrated film. Even now, in the sixty-plus years since its release, Welles’ masterpiece remains inimitable. Searching for something to dislike in it is pointless. Yes, critics go ga-ga for Orson, and so they should. He was a true maverick.
If one looks at the history of the Best Film award at the Oscars,...

Most of the world has never heard of 25-year-old Oklahoma singer/songwriter Audra Mae. But thanks to a little song called "Who I Was Born to Be," she's worked her way into at least 3 million homes almost overnight.
"Born" is the only original song on the smash debut album from "Britain's Got Talent" runner-up Susan Boyle, I Dreamed a Dream, and the enormity of having a track on a release that sold more copies in its first week in the U.S. than any other this year is just starting to sink in for the grandniece of famed Hollywood icon Judy Garland.

Both Rihanna and Alicia Keys flew to U.K. over the weekend to perform on the country's hit talent show "The X Factor". Rihanna sang "Russian Roulette", while Alicia delivered a medley of "Empire State of Mind", "Doesn't Mean Anything" and "No One".
At the end of their performances, the two female singers spared their time to talk about their new albums and upcoming tours with the show's host. Rihanna said she will go on tour across U.K. next spring, while Alicia confirmed she will return to London for several concerts in May.
Other singers who are expected to rock the upcoming episodes of "The X Factor" are Lady GaGa, Janet Jackson and Paul McCartney.
Rihanna has released a new studio effort "Rated R" in U.S. on November 23. And, Alicia Keys is scheduled to release her own record "The Element of Freedom" on December 15.

Yay, we’re back and feeling X-ey tonight – the pundits are predicting the fall of Danyl Johnson while whatever deal Lloyd Daniels struck with Satan seems to be paying off for him. Fair play to the youngfella from Wales, he actually improved last night, but he’s still miles off Joe McElderry quality.
Oh – and tonight’s question: Who do you think will get kicked out tonight?
And as for Olly Murs – I worked out his formula last night. Olly does the trademark “Murs Shuffle” while the dancing girls around him dress up in whatever costume suits Brian Friedman’s creative vision for the performance. Basically, it’s the same face, same dance with different stage dressing. Give that man a headline tour and you’ll see what I mean.
But onward Dermot! To the results show! The steaks couldn’t be tougher!

Alicia Keys performed her new single ‘Doesn’t Mean Anything’ on tonight’s X Factor. A six-times Grammy award winner, Alicia, releases her fourth album The Element of Freedom on December 14th.
We were hoping for a blast of Empire State Of Mind, the song she did with Jay-z – so when she opened with that and then segued into her latest single we were proper thrilled! She was looking pretty tasty in the red catsuit, wasn’t she gents? Was I the only one imagining the squeaks when she walked?
Alicia ended up performing a bit of a Medley, which proved her versatility. She even worked in her best known single No One and after she finished she told show host Dermot O’Leary:
“We did a little mini concert for you…” Thanks Ms Keys!

TV Show FlashForward has its mid-season finale on Monday here in the UK.
But the event has been overshadowed by reports that production has been halted on the show. It's unclear how many episodes have been completed and whether there will be a break in the schedule.
Some claim the production shutdown is simply due to the Thanksgiving holidays, others say it's to give writers and producers chance to rethink the direction of the drama which has apparently been hit by falling ratings.
Critics of the show say it's failed to see its own flashforward of cancellation. But what do you think?
ABC confirmed the shutdown to Entertainment Weekly, but said the show's schedule was designed to accommodate such breaks.

Does the new poster, right, make it look less like Colin Firth and Julianne Moore are a couple?

Above, you can see the two posters from Tom Ford's upcoming A Single Man. The poster on the left was the one that had people saying the marketing had been de-gayed. The one on the right, we're told, was designed by Tom Ford himself. Improvement? James A Roppo, a senior vice president for a record company has been arrested for failing to tweet. It's a crime now. Or at least it's a crime when you've had a mall taken over by tweens trying to see singing sensation Justin Bieber, and the cops want you to tweet for the tweens to go home. Finally we got to catch up with a ridiculously upbeat Jamie Archer to talk about what he’s been up to since leaving X Factor on Sunday night. I’d already read a few interviews by the time we caught up, and Jamie was refreshingly candid in each one.
Often, when you chat to an X Factor contestant they’re media prepped to the point that you get nothing interesting or relevant to report – not so with Mr Archer, who spoke openly about his frustrations with the X Factor format and his gratitude to the show for giving him such a big break.
Here’s the transcript of our chat (and thanks to Jamie for being a great interviewee!)
It’s not often we get to interview an X Factor contestant at the end of the week – tell us about what you’ve been up to.
It’s just been madness.

It's a weekend wedding for Coldplay's guitarist Jonny Buckland who married his longtime girlfriend Chloe Lee-Evans on Saturday, November 14. The nuptials, as reported by Us Weekly, took place at "London's exclusive One Marylebone Road, a neo-classical church with high ceilings, chandeliers and flowers lining the room."
Jonny's bandmates Chris Martin, Will Champion and Guy Berryman were in attendance. "X Factor" contestant Daniel Pearce and his band reportedly took the stage at the reception. No other detail of the wedding has been shared with reporters though.
Jonny Buckland has been dating Chloe Lee-Evans, who is a jewelry designer, for years. The pair has one daughter together, named Violet, who was born on November 3, 2007. It is reported that the family currently resides in London.

Susan Boyle’s debut album I Dreamed a Dream has broken all previous records and achieved the largest global CD pre-orders in the history of Amazon.
The Britain’s Got Talent star, who will appear on this weekend’s X Factor, broke the record set by Japanese rock group Mr Children’s Supermarket Fantasy in 2008.
“Just eight months ago, no-one was aware of the talents of Susan Boyle. Now, she has generated more Amazon pre-order CD sales globally than any other artist,” Julian Monaghan said.
“That is an incredible achievement and is testament to the fact that she has captured the hearts of people all over Britain, America and the rest of the world.”
Columbia Records Chairman Steve Barnett added: “One of the things that is so unique about Susan Boyle is her ability to touch people around the world. We’re excited that I Dreamed A Dream holds the...

Brian Friedman has lashed out at Simon Cowell for changing this week’s X Factor theme no less than six times.
The theme is usually announced the weekend before the show airs and song choosing begins soon after. However Simon’s indecision has led to a big delay in song choice and routine planning and reportedly thrown the whole process into disarray.
Brian, who acts as creative director for the show, told The Mirror:
“The theme has been changed about six times.
“I only received the final song choices by text 20 minutes ago.
“I was supposed to have the routines ready by Tuesday morning but it’s not going to happen because I didn’t even know what they were singing until now!”
Rumours had suggested that Simon would chose between Elton John and Wham, however Olly Murs has since been pictured with the lyrics to You’re A Wonderful One by Marvin Gaye.

He's usually the one meting out the criticism, but this time it's Simon Cowell who's on the receiving end of some particularly harsh words about his talent - from Sting. The rock star heaped criticism on Cowell's British version of American Idol - The X Factor - describing the show as "appalling" and promoting bland, soulless music in an interview with the London Evening Standard. "It's a preposterous show, and you have judges who have no recognizable talent apart from self-promotion," Sting, 58, said. This weeks X Factor theme will be Queen Week. A strange choice considering Rock Week was just two weeks ago and given that the celebrity guest this Sunday will be Shakira, surely a latin theme would be more appropriate? However the sources suggest that John and Edward Grimes will be singing Radio Gaga and that does seem like the big production number which Louis would assign to them.
A show source told The Sun: “Simon made the decision late on Sunday night to go with something more theatrical.
“He loves Queen and knows that the wannabes will recognize at least one of their hit songs.
“He wants bigger entrances and bigger performances from all of them.
“It doesn’t get much bigger than pretending to be Queen’s late singer Freddie Mercury.”
Of course Simon Cowell could be accused of favouritism by choosing this theme. It suits his acts much more than any others.

Danyl Johnson
I took a roasting on our X Factor chart for daring to criticise Danyl Johnson’s performance last night. Amid claims of Danyl-bashing (the nation’s favourite new sport!), I was told that I was ‘clearly biased’ against Danyl:
I appreciate that you’re obscenely biased against the guy for whatever reason, but you should honestly appreciate a fantastic performance when you see one. You have a voice on the Internet and people read this blog, so that’s great, just don’t make a fool out of yourself in doing so.
The guy is very talented and you really need to lay off him. You berated him with criticism last week, you bought into all these stories that have been said about him like a gullible moron, and you’re using this blog space to broadcast your unbelievable bias to the Internet, and it’s just verging on ridiculous.

Yes, as we sit here in judgement of the contestants tonight, we must also lament their inability to rock convincingly. Seriously, we’re not gonna discover the next Axl Rose or Caleb Followill on this year’s X Factor.
So Rock Week was a bit of a bust. We witnessed the toppling of Danyl Johnson with a very stilted performance of an Aerosmith song, and guys like Joe McElderry and Olly Murs came out strong with good, albeit safe performances of rock songs.
So who were the pick of tonight’s acts and who were the dregs? Here’s the Unreality TV chart – and a note to the flamers, these are our opinions. You’re entitled to your own opinions. You’ll be wrong, but you’re entitled to them anyway. Tell us your favourites in the comments section!

Welcome to another X Factor liveblog, nervous readers! What’s the scariest thing that can happen on this Halloween weekend, I hear you ask? Well, John and Edward surviving another week on the show.
But hey-ho, it’s rock week and my inner metaller is cringing at the prospect of some of the weaker contestants tackling songs that require passion and energy. Hi Lloyd! And on the other end of the scale, will Jamie “Token Rocker” Afro actually be able to rock? And how will Danyl “Not the nation’s favourite” Johnson emerge from the genre of sweaty, hairy dudes? Something tells me I’ll be sorry I asked
Ok, ready to go? The big voiced voiceover man has spoken, we’ve ignored the usual dramatic predictions and threats from the judges, and O’Leary’s on the stage. Let’s get this thing started – and leave your comments as we go along,...

X Factor twins, John and Edward Grimes reportedly got the highest amount of public votes last weekend, sparking fears amongst show bosses that they may actually win the whole show.
The boys got mostly negative reviews from the judges after they performed ‘She Bangs’ on Saturday night. However their lack of singing ability hasn’t deterred their fans.
One insider told The Sun: “It is extraordinary. John and Edward were miles ahead of any other act.
“Whoever wins the X Factor, you can usually guarantee they can sing.
“If John and Edward win, it will no longer be a show about great singers – it could be disastrous. But you know what? It could happen.”
Louis Walsh responded to the news by claiming that the boys have the ‘likeability’ factor. He said: “Kids love these guys – everywhere I go they come up to me and tell me they think they’re great.

X Factor judge Simon Cowell has reportedly had a huge 25 minute row with singer Jamie Archer last night, after he told him to change his song for tonight.
The Sun reports that Simon listened as Jamie rehearsed the Elvis hit ‘If I Can Dream’, and told the big haired songster:
“That was well below par. You are finished if you sing that.”
Insiders told how he continued: “You need to change your song and start learning the lyrics fast or you are not just going to let yourself down – but you’ll let me down too.”
He advised him to change to the U2 hit Angel Of Harlem (how that could be considered as a Big Band song escapes me)… but Jamie, replied: “I don’t know the words!”
The pair then took the row to Simon’s dressing room.
One source added: “They eventually calmed down but it got...

Whitney Houston was said to be so upset by her wardrobe malfunction during her X Factor performance, that when she was done, a member of her entourage scoped her up in giant white towels and whisked her offstage.
A show source told The Sun: “She had steam coming out of her ears.
“One of her massive entourage covered her up in these enormous towels and took her away. It was odd, as though she couldn’t bear to be seen in the dress anymore.”
If I was her, I would have been way more worried by the incoherent interview than the bad dress!

Louis Walsh has admitted that he is quietly confident’ that one of his groups can win this year’s X Factor.
Walsh told BBC Newsbeat: “I’m quietly confident. Listen, I got to the final last year with Jls. They’re the big success act.

With Simon Cowell ruling the judges' table, "American Idol" launched in 2002, spun-off from its British predecessor, "Pop Idol." "Pop Idol," meanwhile, stalled in the U.K. and "The X Factor," a singing competition created by Cowell, rose up to replace it in 2004.
Now Cowell's "X Factor" might be invading American airwaves, where it could join "Idol" on Fox, according to the Hollywood Reporter. What's more, ousted "Idol" judge Paula Abdul is rumored to be a frontrunner to assume a judging position on the new show.
Yes, this is all as strange as it seems. The pressing issue, it would seem, is that Fox risks watering down its "Idol" brand by pairing the show with a similar talent competition. Perhaps as risky,...

British TV talent guru Simon Cowell is set to quit as a judge on U.S. show American Idol - to trim down his relentless work schedule.
The star, who also fronts Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor in his native U.K., tells British tabloid the Daily Mirror he makes up to four transatlantic flights a week just to keep up with his hectic filming.
He also heads a record label, and a television production firm.
And despite insisting he feels fit and healthy, Cowell admits his American commitments may face the axe once his contract is up next year (2010).
He says, "I don't want to come over as whiney because I am very grateful that I have got these jobs. But there is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up.
"It takes longer and longer to make these shows because you have to put more into them, and I am not sure we can sustain me doing three shows a year, with the record label and the TV production company.
