Exclusive: Josh Levy has joined Amplified, the management/production company launched earlier this year by Industry Entertainment’s Adam Levine, Brandy Rivers and Michael Hepburn, as a literary manager.

Exclusive: Bob Hearts Abishola star Fọlákẹ́ Olówófôyekù has signed with Anonymous Content for representation in all areas.

Olówófôyekù had 95 episodes of Bob Hearts Abishola under her belt when the CBS comedy ended in May with Season 5. Her leading role as Abishola garnered her an NAACP Image Award nomination for Actress in a Comedy Series. She also won the 2019 Breakout Actress in TV Award on behalf of the Sync Con Honors Awards.

Next she’ll be voicing a character in Disney’s animated prequel Mufasa: The Lion King, which stars Beyoncé, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen and others. The Barry Jenkins-directed feature hits theaters in December.

“Welcome to Derry” is said to include the origin story of Pennywise the Clown, with Bill Skarsgård reprising his role.

Law & Order Svu has put its cast through some difficult episodes. Actors like Mariska Hargitay have been very candid in the past about how the show’s darker subject matter affected her. But Kelli Giddish might’ve been even more disturbed by certain episodes, especially ones involving children.

Giddish knew what she was signing up for when she was first cast in Svu. She’d already guest-starred on Law & Order Svu as another character four years prior to landing the role of Amanda Rollins. She even appeared in Wolf’s other spin-off Criminal Intent. But guest-starring on the show was much different than being a series-regular.

As detective Rollins, Giddish was consistently exposed to more than a few haunting crimes. Some of which could be hard to shake off when Giddish could relate to them personally.

CBS’ FBI will have a new person in charge as it heads into a massive three-season renewal.

Rick Eid, who has been showrunner on the series since for all six of its seasons to date, will step down at the end of the season. He’ll remain an executive producer of the show, which comes from Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television in association with CBS Studios. A new showrunner will be named later.

Eid is also the showrunner of another Wolf Entertainment series — NBC’s Law & Order — and will remain at the helm as it heads into its 24th season.

“Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” may be the biggest original TV series premiere Canada has ever had. That means, when that famous “dun-dun” opens the series on Feb. 22 via Citytv, the pressure is on.

It’s notoriously hard to get a show greenlit in Canada. Funding challenges, market size and competition from U.S. acquisitions mean few, if any, Canadian series debut on the Big 3 commercial networks each season. Even public broadcaster CBC, which boasts the highest number of originals on a major network, still relies on acquisitions to fill out its primetime programming grid.

Figuring out how to make noise with a new series in a crowded landscape isn’t a uniquely Canadian challenge, but there are more hurdles here. Dexter actor C.S. Lee is joining the Cobra Kai fight, starring as an original Karate Kid franchise character for the TV series’ sixth and final season.

Lee will portray Master Kim Sun-Yung, a character previously seen only in flashbacks, reports our sister site Deadline. In the original Karate Kid film, the character was played by Jun Chong, while later, Don Lee took over the role for Cobra Kai. Master Kim is presumed dead and it’s currently unknown whether the Tang Soo Do pro will appear in the present day timeline or continue appearing in flashbacks.

That much we've known for a while now, but now we have some exciting casting news.

According to Variety, the official cast was unveiled at MIPCOM on Monday.

Citytv has announced the cast and shared a first photo for Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, which is being made in partnership with NBC’s Universal Television and was ordered to series in June.

The Canadian spinoff, comprised of 10 hour-long episodes, will follow a familiar format as an elite squad of detectives investigate “high-profile crime and corruption” in Toronto. Production is now underway with an eye on a Spring 2024 premiere up north.

Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent has cast an all-Canadian ensemble.

The series, which is based on the Dick Wolf-created series, has cast Aden Young (Rectify), as Detective Sergeant Henry Graff, Kathleen Munroe (City on Fire) as Detective Sergeant Frankie Bateman, Karen Robinson (Schitt’s Creek) as Inspector Vivienne Holness, K.C. Collins (The Cleaning Lady) as Deputy Crown Attorney Theo Forrester, Nicola Correia-Damude (Shadowhunters) as Forensic Pathologist Dr. Lucy Da Silva, and Araya Mengesha (Nobody) as tech expert Mark Yohannes.

The series, which is produced by Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures for Citytv, follows two elite detectives from the Specialized Criminal Investigations unit as they investigate high-profile crimes and homicides in metro Toronto.

The 10-part series, which is filming in Toronto, is set to air in spring 2024.

Former Law & Order spinoff boss Warren Leight gave viewers a new perspective in a Tuesday X post (fka Twitter), stating that it may still be possible for networks to salvage a 13-episode season, but only if the WGA strike’s demands are met soon.

“Today many network dramas would have begun shooting their 4th episode of the fall season,” the former executive producer and showrunner for Svu and Criminal Intent wrote. “If the strike were somehow to end by Labor Day and shooting were to begin in early fall, the networks might be able to salvage a 13 episode season.

Paul Eckstein, co-creator and executive producer of the drama series Godfather of Harlem and an actor who appeared multiple times on Star Trek: Voyager and other shows, has died. He was 59. A spokesperson for MGM+ and ABC Signature told Deadline that he died unexpectedly in his sleep on June 6.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of our brilliant colleague, Paul Eckstein,” MGM+ and ABC Signature said in a statement. “Working on the series was a labor of love for Paul, who based the show in part on his family’s personal history. Paul was passionate, a creative force, known for his kindness, and generosity. He was a mentor and friend to many, and he will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and his longtime collaborator Chris Brancato.”

Canadian viewers are getting their own version of a Law & Order show. Citytv has ordered a local edition of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, titled Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent. The current iterations of Law & Order, Law & Order: Svu, and Law & Order: Organized Crime have been airing in the country.

The Canadian network has ordered 10 episodes and it is unknown if US viewers will get to see the spin-off. The original Criminal Intent series aired for 10 seasons between runs on NBC and USA Network, and there's been talk recently about reviving the series.

The first season of Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent will consist of ten episodes and will premiere in Spring 2024. As you might guess from the title, this spinoff series will take its lead from Law & Order: Criminal Intent, the third series in the Law & Order franchise. The “Law & Order” universe is heading up north. Citytv has ordered the series “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent,” Rogers Media announced on Monday. The pickup was revealed a day before Rogers Media’s virtual upfront presentation on June 6.

The Toronto iteration hails from Vancouver-based Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures Inc. in association with Citytv. The first season is planned as ten hour-long episodes, set to premiere in Spring 2024. The show is based on the “Law & Order” franchise created by Dick Wolf for Universal Television, which will distribute the series internationally.

But in this case, “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” also takes its cue from “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” the third series in Wolf’s “L&o” franchise. The original “Criminal Intent,” created and produced by Wolf and René Balcer, ran for 10 seasons between 2001 and 2011, and starred Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe.

Prince was born in 1958 to singers Mattie Della and John Lewis Nelson. Prince and his sister developed a taste for music at a young age, and their parents encouraged them to pursue the passion.

The star met producer and songwriter Jimmy Jam in 1973 and impressed him with his musical talent and work ethic. Jimmy Jam also loved that Prince could play several musical instruments. In 1975, Prince began his musical career in a band formed by his cousin’s husband.

Though franchise founder Dick Wolf had been angling for Law & Order: Criminal Intent to earn a reprieve by delivering a solid 10th and final season, a resurrection simply won’t be happening, USA Network’s top brass tell TVLine.

Asked if there was any chance for a semi-miraculous save and Season 11 order, given the warm welcome that returning regulars Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe received, USA co-president Jeff Wachtel answered, “No — and this is said with respect for the show, respect for Dick [Wolf], and most significantly with respect to the audience.”
