The New York-based seafood restaurant Hav & Mar features a contemporary interior design and elaborate artwork of Black mermaids lining the walls. On a recent afternoon, the restaurant’s renowned celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson isn’t around, but Atlanta rapper Anycia is here with her small entourage, including close collaborator and producer jetsonmade. Over the past year, the 26-year-old has rapidly risen with the vibrant personality and entrancing baritone that many people first heard during her On the Block performance of “Brb.” Anycia tells me that her prevailing memory of the moment is her fashion choice.

Last night, Drake responded to Kendrick Lamar and the rest of rap’s anti-Drizzy cohort — sort of. During a stop on his Big As The What tour in Sunrise, Florida, Drake took a moment to get defiant amid the hysteria about Kendrick’s fiery verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” where the Compton rhymer took aim at Drake and J. Cole by rhyming, “motherfuck the big three, nigga, it’s just big me” (among other shots).

Latto recently stepped out in her hometown of Atlanta. She announced that she’s headlining Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash on June 22. During the press conference, the “Muwop” rapper surprised fans with her noticeably toned-down look — a natural version of the Latto we know and love, especially after her looks at Paris Fashion Week.

This is already shaping up to be an interesting year for Best New Artist at the Grammys. The category might lack a clear frontrunner so far, as it is early in the year, but we do have some serious contenders who might pick up more steam closer to voting time this fall. Plus, an open field might make it even more interesting, unlike years where the winner was rather obvious like when Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish prevailed.
TikTok breakout Benson Boone might be positioning himself as the one to beat. He had already achieved some recognition before 2024 with his viral tracks “In the Stars” and “Ghost Town,” the latter of which charted on the Billboard Hot 100. However, he’s having his big break this year with the massive “Beautiful Things.” The track has led the global charts and so far peaked at number-three on the Hot 100. Boone seems like...

Exclusive: Jenn Levy, who has overseen series including Queer Eye and Is It Cake? at Netflix, is leaving the streamer.
Deadline understands that Levy, who is VP Nonfiction, is leaving at the end of this week.
She has been with the company since 2017, having joined as Director of Unscripted Originals from NBCUniversal’s Bravo, where she had spent nine years. She was the company’s unscripted chief Brandon Riegg’s first hire after he joined the company at the end of 2016.
The move is somewhat of a surprise given the success of Netflix’s recent reality pipeline.
Queer Eye is heading in to its eighth season; Love Is Blind — arguably Netflix’s biggest unscripted hit — is back in February with Season 6; and the company behind that series, Kinetic Content, also is behind The Ultimatum, which has aired two seasons and has a spinoff. Also, Selling Sunset is filming its eighth season and has spawned spinoffs,...

Taylor Swift is celebrating her newfound status as Spotify’s Global Top Artist with a surprise of her own: The massively popular singer-songwriter has just officially released the previously hard-to-find fan favorite song “You’re Losing Me.”
The song, now widely available on streaming services, is the latest of Swift’s “from the vault” releases – tracks that didn’t make her official studio albums. “You’re Losing Me,” which Swift co-wrote with producer Jack Antonoff, was initially released last May only on the “Late Night Edition” CD of Swift’s 2022 album Midnights and in a digital version exclusively at her web store.
This morning, Swift posted on X/Twitter, “Um ok this is unreal?? I just wanted to say to anyone who listened to my music this year, anywhere in the world, thank you. Getting named Spotify’s Global Top Artist in 2023 is truly the best birthday/holiday gift you could’ve given me.

New Grammy nominations, new things to talk about. The Recording Academy officially announced the nominees for the 66th Grammy Awards on November 10, with an eclectic batch of artists and hits that range from pop to R&b to alternative. It’s that time of year again, folks. The 2024 Grammy nominations have been announced, and for fellow K-pop fans, it’s another season of “disappointed, but not surprised.” This year’s nominations failed to nod to any artists out of Seoul, despite the diversity of genre, sound, and style displayed in the submissions.
Historically, BTS paved the way and set the precedent as the first and only K-pop act to secure a nomination, beginning at the 2021 ceremony with a nomination for “Dynamite.” The following year, “Butter” earned a nod in the same category (Best Pop Duo/Group Performance), alongside their collaboration with Coldplay, “My Universe,” and a Best Music Video nomination for “Yet to Come.”
This year, perhaps encouraged by the fact that BTS were able to start making waves in the Grammys world, many K-pop acts followed suit in submissions: aespa, Seventeen, Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together, Twice, Nct,...

Leading up to the Grammy nominations on Nov. 10, Rolling Stone is breaking down 16 different categories. For each, we’re predicting the nominees, as well as who will (and who should) win on Grammy night.
Prestige carries weight in the Best Rap Song category. In the 20 times this particular Grammy’s been given out since 2004, 16 of those wins have gone to just three big-name artists: Kanye West (7 wins), Jay-Z (5), and Kendrick Lamar (4), with Drake winning two times. This year, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, and J. Cole have big reputations on their side.
