Impact Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling will co-produce a major live pro wrestling show on Thursday, March 30th, at the Globe Theater in Los Angeles with megastars from both promotions in-action and numerous first-ever dream matches confirmed.
The show, Multiverse United: Only The Strong Survive, will air live on pay-per-view on fite.tv, starting at 8 p.m. Pst.
Impact World Champion Josh Alexander steps into the ring at Multiverse United against Kushida, while “Speedball” Mike Bailey battles Will Ospreay in the co-main event that will be a nonstop fight for bragging rights. The Bailey-Ospreay battle is their fifth-ever one-on-one contest and the first since August 2022, with their first-ever back in 2015. “Will Ospreay is the best professional wrestler in the world, after me,” Bailey said. “So, this will be the best professional wrestling match of the year.”

Welcome to our review of this year’s Ring of Honor Final Battle pay-per-view, the latest PPV under the auspices of Tony Khan – a year after Roh’s future looked bleak during the last Final Battle show! Let’s see what went down…
Roh Final Battle – Zero Hour: Match #1: Jeff Cobb def. Mascara Dorada The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Mascara Dorada jumped off the ropes with a Mexican arm drag takeover on Cobb. Outside the ring, Cobb caught Dorada and smashed him into the steel ring post! Cobb went to work on the ribs and back of Dorada, trying to neutralize him. Dorada ducked a clothesline and hit Cobb with a spectacular tornillo over the top rope on Cobb! Dorada followed up with a springboard senton onto Cobb for a near fall! Cobb yanked Dorada off the top rope and squashed Dorada with a standing moonsault for a two-count.

Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have some matches and stuff. Isn’t that exciting? Actually, we have more from the Villain Enterprises/LifeBlood feud in our main event, so get ready to see LifeBlood lose…or not. I didn’t spoil anything.
Match #1: Jonathan Gresham defeated Kenny King, Dalton Castle and Jeff Cobb – Four Corner Survival Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Even though the match is every man for himself, Castle and King worked as unit to isolate Gresham. Eventually, their alliance fell apart. As Castle and King bickered, Gresham tagged in Cobb, who began tossing around both men. King went for a Blockbuster on Cobb, but Cobb caught him and delivered a Jackhammer for a near fall. Later, ringside attendant Amy Rose handed King one of her high heels. Cobb tried...

Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a wild match or two from a league that is having a hard time making this year into a success. Let’s see if this show comes together all right.
Match #1: Pco defeated Jay Briscoe by disqualification The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Not surprisingly, the fight spilled to the floor, where Briscoe backdropped Pco onto the edge of the apron. Back inside the ring, Pco hit Kryptonite Krunch for a near fall, and a cannonball off the top rope for another near fall. Pco connected on a cannonball through the ropes to the outside. Briscoe halted Pco’s momentum by dropping him ribs-first on the guardrail. Briscoe then sat Pco in a chair outside the ring and delivered a running crossbody. Later, Pco set up for a moonsault,...

Welcome to this review of Ring Of Honor’s Best In The World Pay Per View, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have some good stuff from a lame league to get to. Roh has been having a lot of trouble the past three/four months, so let’s see if they can get back on the horse they’ve fallen off of before they get trampled by it.
Match #1: Rush defeated Flip Gordon
This was good for an opener, but it deserved to go a bit longer…that’s WWE talk! Before I get on a tangent, this was some good stuff, but it needed more time.
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Dalton Castle defeated Dragon Lee
This was pretty good, but it felt a bit restrained for a match that was really close to being great. Yeah, 3.5 is my official review, but...

Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Jay Lethal and Kenny King in the second match of their series against each other. Let’s see if it all goes well. I’m just so exciting, aren’t I? Bueller? Is that how you spell that name? Bueller? Speaking of Ben Stein…I wish I had won his money.
Match #1: Colt Cabana defeated Mark Briscoe – Nwa National Title Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Cabana outwrestled Briscoe early, but the tide turned after Briscoe knocked Cabana off the top rope to the floor. Briscoe hit a flying elbow off the apron. Then he sat Cabana on a chair outside the ring and charged at him, but Cabana stood up and tossed Briscoe over his head onto the chair. Back inside the ring, Cabana knocked Briscoe...

Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a big four way match for the main event. Let’s get right to it and John Wick the hell out…I forgot the joke.
Match #1: Hirooki Goto defeated Hikuleo The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
This match between Njpw competitors pitted the veteran Goto against the up-and-coming Hikuleo, the 6-foot-8 younger brother of The Guerillas of Destiny’s Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa. Goto hit a big clothesline for a near fall, but Hikuleo answered with a superplex for a near fall. Hikuleo then turned Goto inside out with a clothesline, but Goto kicked out at two. Goto eventually finished off the youngster after hitting Ushigoroshi and Gtr.

Okay, let’s see if Bully Ray is gonna drag one of us into the back and tell us to stop talking to his girlfriend.
Match #1: Nwa National Title Match: Champion Colt Cabana and James Storm wrestled to a 15-minute draw The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Cabana out-wrestled Storm early, which frustrated the challenger. Storm resorted to roughhouse tactics to seize the advantage. Cabana came back with a moonsault for a near fall. Storm connected with a pair of superkicks and then locked on the Texas Cloverleaf. Cabana tried to get to the ropes, but Storm dragged him back to the center of the ring. At that point, the bell rang.

Match #1: Villain Enterprises defeated Jay Lethal, Jeff Cobb and Rush – Roh World Six-Man Tag Team Title Match The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Several minutes into the match, Cobb began tossing all three of his opponents around. He hit a standing moonsault on Scurll, but King made the save. Cobb came back with a double pumphandle slam on Scurll and King. Later, King hit a flip dive over the top rope onto Cobb, Lethal and Rush on the floor. Luchasaurus came back with a series of kicks to the head and a chokeslam. He went for a standing moonsault, but Taylor got his knees up. Taylor planted Luchasaurus with a Uranage. Match #1: The 30-Man Honor Rambo: Winner – Kenny King
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – This was less about great wrestling and more about big surprises. The action was of a certain quality, which should neither condone nor condemn the match itself. In what may have set the precedent for the card, the Japanese wrestlers were the best thing here. Overall, this match got the crowd excited, which is just fine.

The former Roh World Champion ran wild on all three of his opponents and then used The Boys as weapons, repeatedly sending them flying over the top rope onto Fredericks, Connors and Coughlin. Match #1: “The Villain” Marty Scurll defeated Kenny King The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Taking a page from Scurll’s playbook, King made his entrance with a “Villain” cosplayer in an attempt to get into his head. It didn’t work. As per the rules of a Proving Ground Match, if Luchasaurus defeats Cobb or lasts the entire 15-minute time limit, he will receive a future shot at the Roh World Television Title. Immediately after the bell rang, the enigmatic Luchasaurus stunned Cobb with a spinning heel kick for a near fall. Match #1: Twizted Sisterz (Holidead and Thunder Rosa) vs. Madison Rayne and Dr. Britt Baker The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Rayne and Baker demanded this match after they were attacked by Twizted Sisterz at Survival of the Fittest last month. The popular duo went on the offensive right from the opening bell, but Twizted Sisterz gained the advantage after isolating Rayne. Rayne eventually tagged in Baker, who hit a flurry of offense before Twizted Sisterz began double-teaming her. They landed a backbreaker, lung-blower and flat-liner in succession, followed by an assisted backflip that likely would’ve ended the match had Rayne not made the save at the last second. Welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have an orangutan, a chimpanzee and a jet-plane, but only one doesn’t fit with the other two. Any-way, it’s time to enjoy the story of the first caramel cod… I mean Halloween.
Match #1: Kenny King defeated Christopher Daniels The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:
Before the match started, Kenny King got on the mic and said that with Daniels not having much time left in Roh, it will look good on his resume to hand the stalwart one of his last losses before he’s “booted out the door.” King’s disrespectful words fired up Daniels, who was all over King as soon as the bell rung. King briefly halted Daniels’ momentum after sweeping his leg while Daniels was on the apron, which sent Daniels crashing to the floor.

Match #1: Jeff Cobb beat Shane Taylor
My Take: 3 out of 5 – This was like watching two bulldozers ram into each other for over ten minutes… and that’s a compliment. I like-a da smash-smash! Cobb is wrestling machine who can pack a wallop into any-thing launches at his opponent. Taylor is not too far behind, but his weight is still holding back from doing all that he is capable of. How-ever, Taylor was able to show much more than he has in his last few matches and did some incredible slams that felt like they were coming out of nowhere. Make no mistake about my opinion of Shane Taylor, which...

Welcome to this week’s Lucha Underground review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have one match that rules the card. Will that match be enough to give this show a good review?
Match #1: (Main Event) – Jake Strong vs. Dante Fox vs. Hernandez vs. Aerostar vs. Big Bad Steve vs. Pj Black vs. King Cuerno – Gift Of The Gods Title Match My Take: 3.5 out of 5
This was good stuff. The bout is a long one, which is the right way to go, since it’s the only one booked on the card. Strong dominated the match, even though every-body got their moment to shine, even if they were only in it for a moment or so. Hernandez is lucky to have gotten this recent jolt of life to his career and with being able to finally work in Impact Wrestling and Lucha Underground, he might...

Match #1: The Briscoes beat Coast 2 Coast – Ring Of Honor World Tag Team Titles Match My Take: 3.5 out of 5
This was a much slower match than you would have expected from these two teams, but the action was structured properly and felt like a real competition, rather than a stunt show, so it was worth the viewing. C2C has had a quiet year of success, high-lighted by their undefeated streak, which I barely noticed, at all. C2C is a really good team in this match, with fluid tag work that is reminiscent of the Motor City Machine Guns at their peak.

Match #1: Kenny King beat Chase Owens My Take: 3 out of 5
This was good match that featured one of King’s best performances in some time, while giving Owens a rare chance to show his skills in outside of Japan. The action was slow but audacious, with Owens flying around with precision, at certain junctures, of course. Owens is looking more and more like James Storm, by the way, in both look and wrestling method. I don’t know if Owens could have a run in the WWE without taking steroids, but...

Worst Promo:
Milwaukee Bull-$@!# (Smackdown) – Aiden English told Lana he knew about what she did in Milwaukee. Who cares?
Best Promo:
Ain’t Got No Respect (Impact) – The OGz had an excellent promo where they burnt Konnan’s old luchador mask while promising to destroy Lax at Bound For Glory.
Worst Moment:
Top Prospects Get No Respect (Ring of Honor) – Jeff Cobb was booked to beat the hell out of two more members of the Top Prospect Tournament and it made the two guys look terrible. Trust me when I say, you may not give a $#!% about the Top Prospect tournament after this angle.
Best Moment:
Old School Salesman (Ring of Honor: Death Before Dishonor) – Nick Aldis did a great job...

The latest WWE rumor concerning who is joining the organizing is rather shocking. It looks like Ring of Honor television champion Punishment Martinez is leaving the company to join up with the WWE. This comes as a surprise because at the Roh Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Friday night, Punishment Martinez beat Chris Sabin in what was not much more than an extended squash match. It seems strange to have Punishment look so strong if Ring of Honor knew he was leaving. However, a new talent appeared at that PPV as well with Jeff Cobb showing up to save Chris […]

Welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a tag team grudge match for the main event that can rival the passive aggressive feelings that Tom Brady has after he just got his ass handed to him by the Detroit Lions. I’m not even a big sports fan and I think that’s cool!
Match #1: The Best Friends (Chuckie T/Chuck Taylor and Trent Baretta) beat The Boys – Tag Team Match
My Take: 2.5 out of 5 - This was a good match that had lots of firm back and forth offense from both teams. The Boys make for a good team and it’s a shame we don’t see more of them. I like the bizarre nature of Dalton Castle’s weirdo brigade and if The Boys can get more bookings on Ring of Honor’s television show,...

Welcome to the Lucha Underground review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this was a lousy episode of Lucha Underground, so don’t expect much.
Match #1: Jake Strong beat Drago
This was a nice little match that was an even affair for both men. Both competitors looked good here and were able to show what they can do. It was nice to see that the difference in size was ignored, as that part of booking and promoting has been out-dated for close to thirty years. If Bruce Lee can legitimately beat an opponent of any size (people didn’t go watch his movies because he could act) then why can’t professional wrestling completely embrace a short man beating a tall man? People like Vince McMahon and Billy Corgan need to let go of the size thing, because people don’t care about if Rey Mysterio is shorter than the Undertaker,...

Match #1: Chris Sabin beat Scorpio Sky
These guys had my favorite match of the card. Sabin and Sky had a very even, methodically paced match that blended the X style and technical wrestling into a smart bout. Sabin was back in his singles briefs here, rather than his Motor City Machine Gun gear, which proved to be a bit of fore-shadowing that we’ll discuss in the News Of The Night section of the review. Sky channeled Low Ki in some parts of the match, which is always my personal complement to him… we’ve never met though…...

Match #1: Jake Strong beat Sammy Guevara
This was a quick one that gave Strong the chance to dominate and get over as a wrestling machine. Strong is finally getting to do what he should have been doing in the WWE when he was Jack Swagger, but Vince would not allow it. Strong’s ankle lock is fantastic and could even rival Kurt Angle’s at this point. Sammy was great here, making a horrifying flip off the balcony onto Strong in true luchador style. Sammy may have hurt his ankle, but since it played into the finish, it may have well been part of the plan. Over-all, this was a fun way to start the show.

Match #1: Big Bad Steve lost to Jake Strong
My Take: As matches go, this was not what you would call “ambitious”. The whole idea was to introduce Jake Strong, who is the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger. Strong typically got the wrong end of the deal while working for Vince McMahon, with most of his momentum halted just as he was starting to gain some steam. Strong looks so different outside the WWE, despite having an identical look to his WWE days. It could be said that Strong’s training for Bellator has had an effect on his confidence (and that’s likely true) but I’d argue that it’s simply a thrill for any wrestler to go to work without having to run...
