Updated with additional Janel Grant response: Former WWE boss Vince McMahon is not happy with the upcoming Netflix docuseries Mr. McMahon.
In a statement posted on X, McMahon admits he doesn’t regret participating in the docuseries, but says “A lot has been misrepresented or left out entirely in an effort to leave viewers intentionally confused.”
Directed and executive produced by Chris Smith (Tiger King), the six-episode docuseries chronicles the rise and fall of McMahon.
Here is McMahon’s statement in full:
“I don’t regret participating in this Netflix documentary. The producers had an opportunity to tell an objective story about my life and the incredible business I built, which were equally filled with excitement, drama, fun, and a fair amount of controversy and life lessons. Unfortunately, based on an early partial cut I’ve seen, this doc falls short and takes the predictable path of conflating the ‘Mr.

Who is Vince McMahon? Is he the man everyone knows onscreen as the WWE villain “Mr. McMahon”? A self-made billionaire media mogul? Or is there something darker hiding beneath the surface?
Netflix’s upcoming documentary series Mr. McMahon appears set to explore all of those facets.
“When it comes to Vince, a lot of that is a character,” says Paul “Triple H” Levesque, a former professional wrestler who is now the WWE’s chief content officer, in the trailer. “He is going to show you what he wants you to see.”
Or as McMahon himself says in the trailer: “The lines of reality are very blurred in our business, the individual loses all sense of who they really are.”

In the WWE’s infamous “Attitude Era,” Vince McMahon morphed into the “Mr. McMahon” character and never really looked back. Or maybe he was always that guy — and that’s not a compliment.
Netflix’s upcoming “Mr. McMahon” docuseries, from “Tiger King” director Chris Smith and former ESPN personality Bill Simmons, follows Vince’s “rise and fall,” the show’s synopsis begins. Production began on the unscripted series four years ago, and since its cameras were first turned on, McMahon left his own company — twice — amid several scandals.
For “Mr. McMahon,” Smith, Simmons, and fellow executive producer Zara Duffy compiled more than 200 hours of interviews with Vince McMahon, his family members, business associates, and iconic professional-wrestling talent, per Netflix. The trailer alone shows McMahon, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Hulk Hogan, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, John Cena, Bruce Prichard, Eric Bishoff, Jimmy Hart, Bret Hart, and McMahon’s own son-in-law, Paul “Triple H” Levesque,...

Now that her Marvel days are seemingly behind her, especially after a messy lawsuit with Disney that may have gotten Bob Chapek ousted, Scarlett Johansson has decided to set her sights on making her television debut and will be executive producing a limited TV adaptation of Just Cause, from the novel by John Katzenbach. Ironically, the novel had already been adapted into a film starring Sean Connery, Laurence Fishburne, and even featured Johansson in her second acting role as Sean Connery’s daughter.
Deadline reports that Johansson will be starring as a struggling reporter named Madison “Madi” Cowart, a worker for a Florida newspaper sent to cover the last days of a prison inmate who is on death row. Christy Hall, writer of I’m Not Ok with This and Daddio, teams up with Johansson’s banner, These Pictures, in association with Warner Bros. TV to strike a competitive deal...

Most people know Matt Dillon as an actor who grew up in front of the cameras. He won two Indie Spirit Awards for “Drugstore Cowboy” and for “Crash;” that one also yielded a Supporting Actor Oscar nomination.
