The SpongeBob Musical is coming to Broadway (and Chicago) and we have some new information that all you SpongeBob fans might be interested in, along with a poster that you can see above!
I think it’s so cool that they are bringing this hilariously crazy character to life in a stage production. The musical is being directed by Steppenwolf member Tina Landau, who also played a part in coming up with the idea to do this. This project has been slowly developing since 2008, when the director was first hired. Now it’s set to premiere in Chicago in June of this year. What have they been doing in preparing for this production all these years? Landau explained to EW:
“Before there was even a story, from very early on we did movement and physical workshops to explore the idea of whether we could really create these characters onstage without...

A good American Idol finale is kind of like the Fountain of Youth — and that’s not only a reference to 43-year-old Ricky Martin, 45-year-old J.Lo and 44-year-old Jordan Knight taking the stage and looking like they halted the aging process back in the late ’90s.

After 13 grueling weeks of voting — encompassing some 250 competitive performances and a pupu platter of “Wait! Noooo!” eliminations — it’d be easy for even the most committed Idoloonie to feel drained, dazed and depleted.

The last time Hollywood invaded Arizona was for the Super Bowl in January 2008.
Mansions were captured, luxury car companies shuttled stars across the desert, and the Maxim party (featuring the late DJ Am) then at a mega resort north of Scottsdale looked like four or five of Brent Bolthouse and Jen Rosero’s best nightclub events cobbled together in an indoor/outdoor party pangea.

Let’s face it — every actor in Hollywood has to start somewhere. For some of your favorite actresses it means working the small screen as a video vixen. While it’s not uncommon for celebrities to lend their star power to music videos, several award-winning actresses’ first roles were music videos. At that time, they were just the featured extra or eye candy. For Angelina Jolie, that’s a long way away from her Oscar win for Best Supporting Actress in Girl, Interrupted in 2000. Back in 1993, she was the star of Meat Loaf’s video for “Rock ‘n’ Roll Dreams Come Through.”
In fact, the ‘90s were a pivotal time for the video vixen and for actresses getting much of their early work. Alicia Silverstone famously appeared in two Aerosmith music videos — one alongside Steve Tyler’s daughter Liv — before becoming the star of Clueless. Courteney Cox...

Whether you’ve been with the band since the beginning or are just getting into them thanks to a myriad of phenomenal albums over the past few years, Alter have been on an incredible upward curve as they grab new fans left, right and centre, all culminating thus far in a guest slot under Aerosmith at this year’s Download Festival.
The uninitiated amongst you may know them as “That band who did Edge’s theme song” from wrestling years ago, or from any number of the more recent tracks that include the brutally-heavy Isolation from 2010′s Ab III, the bouncy-as-all-hell Addicted to Pain from last year’s Fortress, or current behemoth of a track Cry of Achilles that’s re-injecting complex arrangements back into popular hard rock.

With its ongoing emotional sagas and character studies, it's sometimes easy to forget that Buffy The Vampire Slayer has its roots in horror. Week after week, Buffy battles toothy vampires, slimy demons and other horrors from the Hellmouth – but don't forget that the show equates these monstrosities with the trials of growing up.
The latest instalment is no exception. Helpless is more of an overt horror story, using the tried and tested 'Stuck in a haunted house' trope as the backdrop for a scary tussle between Buffy and a bloke who resembles a three-way cross between a vampire, Steve Tyler from Aerosmith and the bass player guy from Blondie.
Which means another gold star from me, I'm afraid. Having sat through the last batch of Buffy The Vampire Slayer episodes, I've noted how faults seem to be few and far between. Hell's teeth, I've gone soft. Possibly it's because I'm...

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Live DVD - Review
One of the things that hits you about the midway point when watching this set is that this has to be one of the greatest live “Best Of” compilations ever put to DVD. The luminaries of rock and roll that appear within this presentation is enough to make it a worthwhile purchase for yourself but certainly is something that ought to be considered a solid gift for anyone who appreciates a wide spectrum of music.

Nobody wants to be the old dude at the kegger. You know the guy I’m talking about. He shows up uninvited, wearing skinny jeans and sporting a depressingly obvious comb-over and saying things like “You got me straight trippin’, boo.” He’s obviously way too old to be partying with college kids, but he doesn’t seem to notice or care. He’s still clinging to an idealized youth that he refuses to believe has passed him by. He just wants to be treated as a peer, and maybe even a hipster. He doesn’t realize that it’s time to give up the posturing, and accept that with age comes a certain inevitable irrelevance. Clive Davis is not that guy. Which is kinda weird. Davis certainly seems like he’d qualify for creepy-old-guy-at-the-party status. At 77 years old, he’s one of the oldest working producers and executives in the music business.
