Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley
Starring Wamiqa Gabbi, Priyanshu Painyuli, Naseeruddin Shah, Lara Dutta, Neena Gupta, Ratna Pathak Shah,Gulshan Grover, Paoli Dam, Vivaan Shah, Imaad Shah
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj

Actor Rahul Dev says his upcoming digital film, Raat Baaki Hai, is all about thrill, drama and a tight plot.
"It's an interesting film with a tight plot. People would like it for the elements of thrill and drama. I have an able director in Avinash Das who gives his actors space to perform, hence the creativity is truly collaborative. (I am) enjoying myself on set and I can't speak too much at this point except that the character holds a few surprises in store," Rahul said.
"Raat Baaki Hai" also stars Paoli Dam and Annup Soni.
The film is a story of love, deceit and revenge and is based on Atul Satya Koushik's popular play 'Ballygunge-1990'. The film takes place when two estranged lovers meet after 12 years. --ians/dc/vnc...

OTTDespite its problems, 'Bubbul' achieves what it sets out to do - it is a fairy tale like no other. Geetika MantriThe witch, the dayan, the chudail… these were common characters in the ghost stories that many of us listened to when growing up. The trope was similar – an ugly, supernatural woman who was evil, sadistic and would inflict harm. Today, these words are used as derogatory terms to describe women who are different from the ‘ideal’, such as if they speak too loudly, don’t smile enough, don’t fit unrealistic beauty standards, work in their self-interest and so on. The trajectory has been similar elsewhere too – women who were targeted in the Salem witch trials in the Us in the 17th century were arguably those who did not conform to gendered social expectations at the time. In this context, Bulbbul offers a refreshing take on these sexist characterisations...

EntertainmentAnushka's film 'Bulbbul', a supernatural thriller, released on Netflix on Wednesday.IANSFile photoActor-producer Anushka Sharma feels nothing can substitute the experience of watching a film on the big screen, and thinks that the post-covid era will usher in a new wave where Ott platforms will "parallely exist" with theatres. "Let's be very honest, these are extraordinary circumstances that we are all experiencing. I think, to judge anything on the basis of this time would probably not be valid," Anushka told Ians, when asked if the digital medium was filling a void of content due to the shutdown of the film industry amid the pandemic. The actress was speaking to the media even as she released her production venture Bulbbul, a supernatural thriller, on Netflix. Both of them made their first Bollywood impression by featuring in a 'kahaani' that had vendetta as its theme. Paoli Dam was the face of Hate Story, an erotic thriller. Parambrata Chatterjee was a strong supporting arm for Vidya Balan in Kahaani, a dramatic thriller. Now they are coming together for a love story, which is interestingly titled Yaara Silly Silly. "The film has been in the making for a while though," informs our source, "It was announced two years back when both Paoli and Parambrata were in news for their respective films. The film's shooting was spread out though and then suddenly there was no news around it. Now it is being readied for release." Interestingly, Paoli and Parambrata crossed path again in another Hindi film Gang of Ghosts where former was roped in for an item number and latter was one of the key protagonists. Three notable films release this weekend – Hate Story 2, Amit Sahni Ki List and Pizza. Each of these three films is a mid-budget affair and doesn’t have stars hogging the limelight. While Hate Story 2 is as commercial a film as it gets, Amit Sahni Ki List and Pizza are concept films with a different storyline to offer. Also, Hate Story 2 is a part of the Hate Story franchise that was conceptualized by Vikram Bhatt and had resulted in a Paoli Dam success story directed by Vivek Agnihotri. On the other hand Pizza is the namesake remake of a Tamil horror flick with an urban set up to it. Between the three films, Hate Story 2 would get the biggest release as it has a solid backing of T-Series. The songs have been well promoted which has ensured some good visibility too. Moreover, ample skin show as well...

Even though Prateik made a splash in Bollywood with his debut film, a few wrong choices of films saw his career going nowhere. Post the debacle of his last film Issaq, he went totally missing from the Bollywood scene. Well, the good news that he will now be seen debuting in a Bengali film Arani Takhan, which is being directed by the debutante Sourav Chakraborty, the same man who had assisted Ashutosh Gowariker in Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se. Talking about the film, Sourav said that the film's a journey of love between the time when Babri Masjid was demolished (1992) and the infamous Gujarat riots (2002). He added that while Prateik's character is neither positive nor negative, the film will show the transformation in him because of the aforementioned two highly sensitive incidents. While the film will be shot in Kolkatta, Mumbai and Gujarat, the film is expected to roll during the end of May.

Panaji, Nov 30: Goa's Konkani cinema is about to get red hot. After scorching the silver screen with a bare-backed performance in "Hate Story", Bengali bombshell Paoli Dam will act in a film directed by up-and-coming Goan director Laxmikant Shetgaonkar, says the actress.
"I am in Laxmikant Shetgaonkar's next film. We discussed the project when I met him in Cannes," the actress said of her 2011 meeting in France with the director, whose first film "Poltodcho Munis" won critical acclaim when it was released a few years ago.
The Konkani film revolves around Baga beach, one of the popular beaches in Goa, and involves the slices of lives.

Getting out of his comfort zone of erotic-horror, Vikram Bhatt is all set to rip open and expose the fatal flaws in the medical profession. His next film tentatively titled The Ankur Arora Medical Case which goes on the floors post-monsoon would take up the very urgent and disturbing issue of death during surgery. Inspired by a real-life case of a well-to-do entrepreneur's sudden demise while being operated on, the film will take story from the operation theatre to the courtroom as an eminent surgeon played by K K Menon will be put on the dock and tried for murder. Reluctant to reveal too many details about what he calls his most conscientious film till date, Vikram Bhatt says, "I'm deeply disturbed by the spate of deaths due to medical negligence. We presume only the poor die due to medical negligence. Not so. The rich who can afford the best...

Kolkata: Paoli Dam, the hot Bong sex siren, recently in an interview cleared air about the censor board busy cutting and editing various scenes from the film “Hate Story” saying that she is least bothered about the scissors of the censor team as she is busy promoting the movie. She was in Kanpur on Monday to promote the movie. Gossip mills have already leaked out Paoli’s desire to be painted nude by Mf Hussain, and Vivek Agnihotri, the film director’s demand to strip nude during the audition of the movie.
When Paoli was asked about these, she told it to be the overworked imagination of people. Paoli was also questioned about the threat from newbies like Sunny Leone and Poonam Pandey who are also going to debut this year and that too in bold characters just like Paoli’s, she animatedly replies.

Hate Story is a success and the 'risk' of making Bollywood's first ever mainstream erotic thriller has paid off. West Bengal government may have painted the poster displaying the bare back of Paoli Dam for Hate Story but slowly and surely Hindi cinema is becoming bold in packaging sex as the item to sell a product, specifically a film. As a matter of fact riding on the quotient of sex films without presence of a super star is being sold to the distributors without much of a problem. So, the moot point is, is Sex the new superstar in the world of Hindi cinema?...
