The much-awaited return of the ghost detectives on the silver screen is finally available on Netflix, and the fans seem to love it. Based on the DC Comics characters of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, the Netflix series is created by Steve Yockey and it follows the story of two ghost detectives who decide not to ascent to their afterlives to stay on Earth and investigate the crimes involving the supernatural. Dead Boy Detectives exists in the same universe as Netflix’s hit DC fantasy drama series The Sandman, and while it is different from The Sandman in its story and visuals, the Dead Boy Detectives seem to be connecting with the fans. So, if you loved the charm and supernatural shenanigans in Dead Boy Detectives here are some similar shows you should check out next.

As Superman is once again set to reach the big screens with David Corenswet donning the suit, fans are excited to see what this iteration brings to the table. The Kryptonian has numerous abilities that make him one of the most powerful beings in the universe. However, James Gunn’s Dcu has added one Justice League member to the new Superman movie, who is immune to one of the Man of Steel’s unique abilities.

A DC comics staple for decades (truly becoming popular in printed form in the 1980s), the Teen Titans have since exploded in cultural awareness mainly thanks to the various animated series, especially the zany, meta Teen Titans Go! series, which spawned its own movie spin-off in 2018. Now a big screen live-action take is in the works at DC Studios.
The squad, primarily comprised of sidekicks to older, more famous heroes, was created by (at least in team form) by Bob Haney, George Kashdan and Bruno Premiani and normally features the likes of Robin, Raven, Aqualad and Kid Flash, among others.
Ana Nogueira, who is already at work on the Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow script that will bring Kora Zor-El (played by House Of The Dragon's Milly Alcock) back to cinemas, will write the screenplay.

The "Teen Titans" are headed back to the big screen — in live-action form. THR is reporting a live-action "Teen Titans" movie is on the way from Warner Bros. and the James Gunn and Peter Safran-fronted DC Studios. Ana Nogueira is tackling the script. Nogueria is also writing the "Supergirl" movie for DC Studios, and was previously attached to write a different "Supergirl" movie that ended up getting scrapped. Got it? Good.
The Teen Titans first appeared in the pages of "The Brave and the Bold" comic back in 1964, created by Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani. Since then, they've appeared in various forms of media, including animated series and animated films, including the fun "Teen Titans Go!" franchise, as well as the gritty live-action series "Titans," a show primarily known for letting Robin say the f-word.

DC Comics character ‘Metamorpho’ aka ‘Rex Mason’, a man made of a shifting mass of chemicals, is played by actor Anthony Carrigan, in the upcoming live-action feature “Superman”:
“…created in 1965 by writer Bob Haney and illustrator Ramona Fradon, ‘Rex Mason’ is an adventurer…

“Shortly after hiring him, company CEO ‘Simon Stagg’ learns that Mason has been dating his daughter, ‘Sapphire Stagg’. This and other incidents begin to fuel in Stagg a dislike for Mason that ultimately leads in a plot to kill him.
“ In an Egyptian pyramid, Mason is knocked unconscious by Stagg’s bodyguard ‘Java’ and deliberately exposed to a radioactive meteorite that is the source of the Orb of Ra, transforming him into ‘Metamorpho, the Element Man’.

“I’m still preparing,” Rachel Brosnahan said Saturday on the SAG Awards red carpet about her big role as Lois Lane in James Gunn’s DC movie Superman: Legacy.
“I’m talking to some journalists, I’m reading a lot of comics — so many I hadn’t read before,” added the actress. “It’s been really fun to dig into this universe.”
Watch the conversation below.
Deadline’s chat with Brosnahan on the red carpet tonight comes in the wake of Gunn assembling the entire cast for a photo at the first script reading in Atlanta earlier this week. One of the big surprises was seeing Nicholas Hoult having already shaved head for his turn as Lex Luthor.
A big deal for Brosnahan during that get-together: “I got to see the suit — and I was blown away!,” said. Suit, meaning not Lane’s but rather the Man of Steel’s...

Quick, name a superhero with a more cynical perspective than Batman. Okay, sure there’s Spawn, but I meant in mainstream comics. Yeah, Punisher, but how about in DC Comics? Sure, there’s John Constantine. But I mean a character less suitable for Christmas stories. What’s that you say? Constantine once crushed the bones of St. Nicolas and snorted them into a powder? And Lobo murdered Santa?
Okay, the point is that Batman doesn’t seem like the type of guy who would make for a good Christmas story. Spider-Man can deliver presents while swinging across New York City and Superman has carried Santa’s slay more than once, but Mr. Vengeance doesn’t even like leaving Gotham. Why would he bother with the North Pole?
And yet, Batman has been at the center of several Christmas stories over the year, and some of them are pretty great. Here...

All good things must end, and that axiom rings especially true for the quirky, fan-favorite Max original series Doom Patrol. The show releases the second half of its fourth and final season this October, with six brand-new episodes after a nine-month mid-season hiatus that began this past January. Adapting the DC Comics’ superhero team of the same name created by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney, and Bruno Premiani, Doom Patrol has leaned into the most absurd possibilities of the genre, combined with the heartbreak that comes with being transformed into a misfit hero through horrifically weird science.
However, more than just examining the peculiarities of being a superhero, Doom Patrol has the bizarre distinction of being a program caught between shuffling streaming platforms, confusing shared universe connections, all while trying to tell its own story across four seasons. And frankly, for a team as unorthodox and weird as the Doom Patrol is,...

“I’m gonna kill Aquaman and everything he holds dear,” promises Black Manta in the trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. “I’m gonna murder his family and burn his kingdom to ash.”
Such boasts are par for the course among supervillains like Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), and most people watching the trailer dismiss it as usual bad guy bluster. After all, the first Aquaman movie earned over $1 billion in 2018 because of its lighthearted tone. Director James Wan and writers David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall, working off a story they wrote with Wan and comics scribe Geoff Johns, crafted a fun script that took advantage of Aquaman’s role in the popular imagination and star Jason Momoa‘s undeniable charisma. The movie had plenty of genuinely cool sequences, such as an epic undersea battle and a duel between Aquaman Arthur Curry and his half-brother Orm the Ocean...

The Dcu is getting some new additions, because after finding his Clark Kent and Lois Lane, director James Gunn has also found another hero for his new cinematic universe, Metamorpho who will be played by ‘Barry’ actor Anthony Carrigan in ‘Superman Legacy’.
Following his Emmy nomination for ‘Barry’, Carrigan, who has alopecia, had an interest in playing Metamorpho even before he got the role.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter he said: “I like comic books, but I’m not a diehard, but I did when all my hair fell out, go through the kind of pantheon of all of these bald superheroes and supervillains and made note of all of them.”
He added: “I remember seeing Metamorpho and I think he had a giant hammer for a hand and I was like, that guy’s badass. Noted. We’ll store that one away.”

DC Extended Universe is counting down its last months of existence, as it’s set to officially end this December with its 15th and final movie, ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.’ Even though Dceu has two movies left to be released, the fans are already looking forward to July 2025, when James Gunn’s ‘Superman: Legacy’ will start a new cinematic universe based on DC characters.
‘Superman: Legacy’ is currently in active pre-production, and writer/director James Gunn announced that filming is set to start in January 2024. The ongoing WGA strike has not affected the movie’s development since Gunn turned in the screenplay just before the strike began. James Gunn seems to be packing Superman: Legacy full of heroes. THR reports that Anthony Carrigan, best known for his exemplary work on HBO’s Barry, has joined the cast of Superman: Legacy as Metamorpho, a hero who can “transmute elements in his body into various forms, taking those properties on as powers.“
Metamorpho was created by Bob Haney and Ramona Fradon in 1965. Also known as Rex Mason, the character was originally an archeologist, but later became a detective and a founding member of The Outsiders after gaining his abilities. The eclectic look of the character and his unique powers are exactly the type that James Gunn loves to work with. Filmation caught lightning in a bottle. In 1965 or so, with no real money or track record, they bamboozled DC Comics into licensing Superman for animated fare. Just as the Man of Steel flew to his Broadway debut and Batmania was sweeping the country, they gave us Superman cartoons, followed by Aqualand and friends. Finally, in 1968, six months after the live-action series left ABC, CBS Saturday Morning welcomed The Batman/Superman Hour, mixing the 1966 super-doings with brand new 12-minute Bat-capades.

Doomsday is drawing near in the latest installment of HBO Max‘s Doom Patrol.
The trailer for Season 4, which was released Tuesday, Mark Sheppard’s Willoughby Kipling warns: “Something very big and very dangerous is headed our way. Immortus is real, and it’s coming. We are wandering into the literal end of days as we speak.”
The Immortus Project appears to be a looming threat, explained only as the pursuit for immortality. It’s not clear what big bad the Doom Patrol will be facing, but it may have something to do with the DC supervillain General Immortus, who was introduced in the 1950s as an enemy of the Doom Patrol. In the trailer, the group eventually comes to the conclusion that the only way to win is to travel back in time.

Jonathan Crane is now locked up in Arkham Asylum
“Titans” has found its Scarecrow. Vincent Kartheiser will play Jonathan Crane on the third season of the DC Comics series, which now streams on HBO Max.
In “Titans,” Crane is past his Scarecrow days and is locked up in Arkham Asylum. As Scarecrow, Crane terrorized Gotham City using toxins to exploit his enemies’ phobias. Cillian Murphy played the character in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight film trilogy.
Crane is part of a trio of new characters that will be introduced in the third season. Savannah Welch was cast as Barbara Gordon, who is the Gotham City Police Commissioner in “Titans,” long past her days as Batgirl. Although she has a past relationship with Dick Grayson (Brendan Thwaites), she is wary of the Titans now being in Gotham. Alicia Silverstone played a loosely based version of the character in Joel Schumacher’s “Batman & Robin.

After killing her father and attempting to defeat Courtney and co. it’s clear that the Dragon King’s daughter is keen on getting revenge, which is lucky as she’s just invoked the name of a deep cut character who could be a way of introducing an entirely new supernatural layer to the series.
Get ready to meet Eclipso.
1963 was a massive year for comics. At the House of Ideas, the X-Men, the Avengers, and Iron Man were bursting from the pages, changing the future of comic books and ultimately Hollywood forever. Meanwhile, their Distinguished Competition saw the Silver Age as a time for reinvention, taking classic characters like Green Lantern and The Flash and turning them into legacy characters.

Jeremy Carver has big things planned for Doom Patrol season 2. Literally.
The first season of the DC Universe series about super powered, and always bickering, misfits ended with most of the team shrunk to action-figure size. With the sophomore outing of the series debuting June 25, executive producer and showrunner Carver thinks it’s time for the characters to grow: physically and emotionally.
Along with waging war against near-omnipotent villain Mr. Nobody, as well as an apocalyptic cockroach, the team of outsider superheroes fought their internal demons, and one another, in a season that was comedic, surprisingly poignant, and delightfully bizarre.
Bizarre is part of the Doom Patrol DNA. Based on the DC comic created in 1963 by writers Arnold Drake, and Bob Haney, and artist Bruno Premiani, the book about Robotman, Negative Man, and Elasti-Girl took an even more eccentric direction when writer Grant Morrison took over in 1989. Morrison’s run...

The arrival of WarnerMedia’s new streaming service, HBO Max, may have come with a little brand confusion here or there. But it’s hard to argue that the consolidation of all of Warner’s content onto one Internet hub hasn’t created opportunities for some HBO and/or Warner fans to branch outside their usual content comfort zone.
Now Warner is set to expand that comfort zone a little more by making some episodes of HBO Max’s Doom Patrol available to all for free in advance of the show’s second season premiere. On Monday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. Et/4:30 p.m. Pt, the first three episodes of Doom Patrol season 1 will be available on DC and Rooster Teeth’s YouTube channels outside of HBO Max’s paywall
In addition, Rooster Teeth will be creating a special “Doom Talkers” after-show to follow each episode. With the...

Catch the first trailer below.
DC’s strangest group of heroes — Cliff Steele aka Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Larry Trainor aka Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Rita Farr aka Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Jane aka Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), and Victor Stone aka Cyborg (Joivan Wade) — are back again to save the world. That is, if they can find a way to grow up…both figuratively and literally. Following the defeat of Mr. Nobody, the members of the Doom Patrol now find themselves mini-sized and stranded on Cliff’s toy race car track. Here they begin to deal with their feelings of betrayal by Niles Caulder aka The Chief (Timothy Dalton), while confronting their own personal baggage. And as each member faces the challenge of growing beyond their own past traumatic experiences,...

This article contains Legends of Tomorrow spoilers.
A good chunk of “The Great British Fake Off,” the tenth episode of Legends of Tomorrow’s terrific fifth season, was spent furiously googling and muttering “wait, The Enchantress?” The appearance of the sorceress is maybe the biggest one-off cameo introduction to the Arrow family of shows that Legends of Tomorrow has ever seen. Enchantress first showed up in ancient Egypt, hiding Charlie’s piece of the Loom of Fate for her, and was later revealed to be the woman running the boarding house Constantine would later own where the piece of the Loom was found. But who is the Enchantress? Why was she a big deal to include? We have some answers, and some informed speculation for you.
The Enchantress was created in 1966 by Bob Haney and Howard Purcell in Strange Adventures #187. June Moon was a freelance illustrator who found a secret...
