Jackie Chan’s latest martial arts comedy “Ride On” wrapped shoots on Thursday. It is set to release next year.
Local media reports showed a teary-eyed Chan congratulating the crew on the successful production holding a bouquet of pink and orange flowers from director Larry Yang Zi, best known for his work on the 2019 heart-warming New Year’s Eve pet drama “Adoring” and the 2016 drama “Mountain Cry.”
The team celebrated with a huge cake with a large carrot sticking up from it for Chan’s horse co-star.
In “Ride On,” Chan, 67, plays a washed-up martial artist named Lao Luo who’s devoted to his old stunt horse Chitu, though Chitu suddenly may be taken away from him because of debt troubles. A heart-warming road trip then ensues when he asks his daughter (Liu Haocun of “Cliff Walkers”) and her boyfriend (Guo Qilin) for help. The story’s laughs center on...

Ever since France revised its tax rebate for international productions in 2016, local authorities have embarked on a full-court push to attract Chinese projects. In 2019, that campaign saw its most successful expression to date with the arrival of Middle Kingdom mega-production, “The Hunting.”
“In recent years, we’ve welcomed more and more Chinese projects, especially series, but ‘The Hunting’ is really the biggest, and most ambitious film to date,” says Stephan Bender, interim CEO of Film France. “It was a project we knew about since 2016, though it took a few years to put in place. When it did come together, it saw more days of shooting, and brought together more Chinese and French technicians than ever before, marking a real step forward for Chinese productions in France.”
Directed by Leo Zhang (“Bleeding Steel”) and starring acclaimed leading man Tony Leung, this Mandarin-language potboiler shot for nine weeks in the Paris region this past summer.

A trio of recent releases provides further gives proof that East Asian filmmakers know how to get weird better than almost anyone. Find our thoughts below on the bizarre trio of director Niwatsukino Norihiro's monk-rotica Suffering of Ninko (Third Window Films), Miike Takashi's manga adaptation As the Gods Will (FUNimation), and Leo Zhang's bizarro sci-fi Jackie Chan vehicle Bleeding Steel (Lionsgate)....

I’ve just watched the trailer for Jackie Chan’s new film Bleeding Steel, which appears to be about the actor rescuing his daughter after she’s been kidnapped by a Borg from Star Trek that lives in a Star Destroyer. His daughter also seems to have some kind of mechanical heart.
At one point, there’s even a big fight on top of the Sydney Opera House. A bunch of stuff blows up, too, and I’m not quite sure what it all means. What I do know is that even at 64 years of age and after multiple injuries and broken bones, Jackie Chan has still got the goods.
Directed by Leo Zhang, Lionsgate is describing the project as “reminiscent of 80s techno-sci-fi thrillers” – which certainly explains the very retro henchmen in biker helmets with generically sci-fi stuff glued onto the sides. The whole thing looks a bit like...

Jackie Chan is a legend who needs no introduction, but you may not be aware of some of the crazy movies he's been doing lately. Bleeding Steel is the latest.
An action, sci-fi, cyberpunk mashup that harkens back to the techno sci-fi films of the 80's like Robocop or The Vindicator, the film looks bananas bonkers in all the best ways.
Synopsis:
A special force agent is assigned to protect a scientist and his creation from a sinister gang.
Bleeding Steel is directed by Leo Zhang.
Lionsgate Premiere will release the film on July 6.

Maybe it’s just time to cancel all other movies coming out. Jackie Chan, older but no less badass than he was in his prime, is back to save the world from an immortal enemy in director Leo Zhang’s Bleeding Steel, an upcoming sci-fi/action film that I’ve already fallen completely in love with. Lionsgate is billing the film […]...

"Whatever purpose you have, this is worse than you imagine."
Whoa! Jackie Chan has made a crazy looking sci-fi action film called Bleeding Steel, and today we have the first trailer for you to watch! I wasn't aware of this film until now and it looks pretty freakin' awesome!
Chan plays a hardened special forces agent in the film who is protecting a young woman from being killed by a sinister criminal gang. At the same time, he also feels a special connection to the young woman, like they met before in a different life. It also seems as if Chan's character has a special steel heart that has been implanted into his body, which is where the title of the movie comes from.
The movie looks like it is filled with some fun sci-fi elements and some cool over-the-top action sequences. I've been a fan of Chan ever since...

"Whatever purpose you have, this is worse than you imagine." A new trailer has debuted for a sci-fi action film from China titled Bleeding Steel, which actually stars Jackie Chan as a hardened special forces agent protecting a young woman. The sci-fi element seems to involve a special metallic heart implanted in Chan's character, as far as I can tell. Which is, I guess, where the "Bleeding Steel" title comes from. The cast includes Tess Haubrich, Callan Mulvey, and Damien Garvey. This is one of those totally unbelievably wacky Chinese action movies that has almost everything thrown into it - including weird, hooded sci-fi-ish characters. There's even a fight on top of the Sydney Opera House. Why? I have no idea. Take a look below. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Lijia Zhang's Bleeding Steel, direct from YouTube: Jackie Chan stars in this action sci-fi thriller as a...
