Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody) stars as a young woman who’s transported back in time while listening to music in Searchlight Pictures’ The Greatest Hits. Written and directed by Ned Benson (The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby trilogy), The Greatest Hits premieres at SXSW before opening in limited theaters on April 5, 2024.
The romantic drama will stream on Hulu beginning April 12th.
“What if a single song, an unmistakable melody, an unforgettable sound – could take you back in time, literally? Harriet (Boynton) finds music imitating life when she discovers beloved songs shared with her former boyfriend can take her back to the scene of the moment, giving her a second chance to twist fate,” reads Searchlight Pictures’ synopsis. “While she relives the past through romantic memories, her time-traveling collides with a burgeoning new love interest in the present. As she takes her journey through the hypnotic connection between music and memory, she...

With great power comes great responsibility. It’s a lesson Lucy Boynton (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) grapples with in Searchlight Pictures’ “The Greatest Hits.” The studio released the film’s trailer on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
In “The Greatest Hits,” Harriet (Boynton) finds that listening to certain songs (literally) sweeps her away to another time — like, she becomes an actual time-traveler. She is able to relive special moments with her deceased boyfriend (David Corenswet of “Pearl”), and could potentially even stop the car crash that killed him from even happening. It sounds like there’s a pretty big tradeoff, however, if she takes it to that point.
And then there’s the new guy, played by Justin H. Min (“Beef”), that she meets along the way. “Throughout her journey, Harriet explores the mesmerizing link between music and memory, facing her with difficult decisions of whether altering the past is a choice worth making,” the synopsis reads.

Lucy Walker, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker of “Waste Land,” is working on her next ambitious documentary, “The Great Oven” shedding light on a grassroots food movement in the Middle East and South America.
The initiative, which was created in 2019 by James Gomez Thompson and Beirut-born Nour Matraji, has allowed for giant ornate ovens to be distributed to corners of the world that need them the most, including Lebanon and Colombia. Ovens were first delivered to the Lebanese/Syrian border to bring together communities from two sides of a decades- long sectarian conflict.
The character-driven film follows the journey of Gomez Thompson from Lebanon to Colombia, where a diverse group of people have been spearheading the solidarity movement. Many of them have been marginalized, notably stateless youth, refugee families, ex-child fighters and trafficked women.

The documentary film Corman’s World was released on Blu-ray/DVD this week, and we were offered the opportunity to talk with producer Stone Douglass about the making of the film. While it was only a brief chat, I learned about the first attempt at starting this project, the difficulties of editing, and the possibility of unused content showing up in book form.
Were you part of the project from the beginning or did you come in after director Alex Stapleton had started working on it?
Stone Douglass: The project was about 5 and a half years total for Alex, and there was a year or so when she worked with just Jared Moshe and Rich Lim, and another guy named Josh Levin. The three of them had provided some small seed cash to help Alex interview a few people and put together a sizzle reel.

- To be honest I'm losing track on just who is attached to this project - the plug got pulled somewhere in early 06' and has just now has been resuscitated. According to Variety, Patrick Wilson (who has seen his stock go up significantly since Todd Field's Little Children and has starring roles in Lakeview Terrace, The Watchmen and Passengers) is probably taking over the lead role that was assigned to Luke Wilson - they both have the same build, so I'd argue that this is indeed the case. Barry Munday still has Chris D'Arienzo on board to direct his debut (from his own script) with filming to being in April and remain in Los Angeles. The indie pic (2 dollar bet this preems in Sundance of 09') is based on Frank Turner Hollon's novel "Life Is a Strange Place", this is about a womanizer who wakes up sans
