Back in March, we got the tragic news that 27-year-old Gen V actor Chance Perdomo has passed away after a motorcycle accident.
Perdomo had been a major part of The Boys spin-off series, and his character, Andre Anderson, was going to feature heavily in the planned second season.
Showrunner Eric Kripke and the show's producers recently put out a joint statement confirming that another actor would not be brought in to play Andre, and the season would instead be "re-crafted" to pay tribute to Perdomo.
"As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory. We won't be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to re-craft our season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.

Well, here we go again. One of the best superhero content of the current times, The Boys is back with a brand new season and this time it is even more crazier than ever before. Created by Eric Kripke and based on a comic book series of the same name, the superhero dark comedy series follows a group of vigilantes as they go up against morally bankrupt superheroes led by a maniacal Superman-like supe Homelander.
In Season 4 we will see Billy Butcher getting The Boys back together to go up against Homelander and his minions as he doesn’t have much time left after the events of Season 3. The Boys spin-off series Gen V is also going to play a big role in the upcoming season as a supe-killing virus that was introduced in the spin-off series is probably going to be the main MacGuffin of the season.

Chance Perdomo’s “Gen V” character Andre Anderson will not be recast for Season 2 of “The Boys” spinoff series.
Perdomo died at the age of 27 in March as a result of a motorcycle accident. In a joint statement released on Sunday, the “Gen V” producers said they will not recast the role because “no one can replace Chance.”
“Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May,” the statement continued. “We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.”
Perdomo starred in the first season of “Gen V” as Andre Anderson, a student at Godolkin University who harnesses magnetic manipulation abilities. In the season finale, Andre — along with fellow students Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan Li (Derek Luh and London Thor) and Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway) — is last seen being held in a high-security facility after the massacre at God U.

The official trailer for "The Boys" season 4 just dropped, and it looks like some of the antiheroes in Prime Video's hit series are having a bit of an identity crisis. "Violence isn't brave," Jack Quaid's Hughie says at one point, noting that the titular kill squad should probably stop killing everyone if they actually want to save the world. Of course, in typical "The Boys" fashion, that nice sentiment is surrounded on all sides by violence: rooms full of dead bodies, a leg getting sawed off, and a guy going splat against a building, among other (gross) things.
That last kill will surely be of interest to fans of the series, as it's committed by Butcher's own stepson, Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), who's now under the tutelage of his biological dad, weirdo supervillain Homelander (Antony Starr). After he seemingly explodes a guy against a building, Ryan is rewarded with...

The countdown to the fourth season of Amazon Prime’s critically acclaimed series The Boys has begun. A new trailer for the latest recently dropped while also reiterating that we are a little over a month away from the fourth installment, which promises to answer several lingering questions about the conflict between the titular group and Vought-sponsored supes.
The original Black Noir was killed off in The Boys season 3
One question fans hope the season answers will revolve around the mysterious return of The Seven member Black Noir, who was unceremoniously killed by Homelander in the third season. As the trailer provides a glimpse at Black Noir’s return, it also hints at how the character will be revived, and a Gen V character could be at the center of it all. Here is how a Gen V supe might replace Black Noir.

The trailer for season four of The Boys has arrived, with our first confirmation that it will have a crossover with spinoff series Gen V and that we will see the superheroes facing their greatest challenge yet.
In the trailer, we hear Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher tell his team, “I look back on my life, and all I see are the messes I’ve made…and I ain’t got time to fix it. I can do one thing right with the time I’ve got left, but I can’t do it alone. I can’t do it without you.” From here, we see that the team will be forced to come to terms with their celebrity, particularly how it will shift as they go on their next missions and evolve into “wrathful gods.”

The trailer of season 4 of The Boys saw many surprises, including a return from Black Noir. The iconic character was killed at the end of season 3 by the Homelander for not telling him about his father. However, the new season sees the silent, masked hero returning to fight Billy the Butcher and the gang in an action-packed scene.
The trailer sees a hand-to-hand combat between Butcher and Black Noir at an office. While fans were excited to see Black Noir returning, they were greeted with an appearance from Gen V’s Asa Germann, who plays Sam Riordan. This sparked a fan theory that Riordan would don the Black Noir suit in the upcoming season.

When Amazon’s “The Boys” debuts its fourth season next month, things are shaping up to be crazier than the time they blew up a whale and that other time they blew up a giant penis, as it seems Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Antony Starr) are ready to burn their whole lives down — and take everyone else with them.
In “The Boys” Season 4 trailer, Butcher reveals to Hughie (Jack Quaid), Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and the rest of the Boys that time is running out for him, and with the few numbered days he and his weakened heart have left, he’s looking to unleash a deadly virus on the supe community. To get the job done, Butcher has teamed up with new character, played by “Supernatural” alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who seems to want supes wiped out entirely as soon as possible to save humanity.

Today was supposed to be a happy day for the cast and producers of Prime Video’s Gen V as they were supposed to reconvene in Toronto for the superhero series’ first Season 2 table read this afternoon ahead of the start of filming, scheduled for April 8 in the Canadian city.
Instead, they woke up to the news that one of the show’s stars, Chance Perdomo, had died in a motorcycle accident, spending Saturday trying to come to grips with the sudden and profound loss. There is little detail about the circumstances surrounding Perdomo’s death at age 27. He is believed to have died late last night or early this morning in Upstate New York, on his way back to Toronto. Citing authorities, the actor’s representatives said today that no other individuals were involved in the crash.
In light of Perdomo’s passing, start of Season 2 production on Gen V has been delayed indefinitely.

Amazon Prime has had a string of successful comic book adaptations, with both The Boys and Invincible being major hits. Now, building on the success of The Boys, the streaming service released a spin-off series titled Gen V back in September 2023. The series ran for eight episodes in total and was yet another smashing hit for the streaming service, which – of course – led to the announcement of a second season. And while we don’t have any release window as of the time of writing, we do have some exciting filming updates that could narrow down the possibilities.
The Boys is probably one of the most popular comic book adaptations ever made. The series is simply on a run, and with Season 4 arriving soon, there is a lot of good to expect from the future of the franchise. Gen V was ordered and produced as a functional spin-off of The Boys...

“Where’s the campaign already,” reads the caption underneath Robin Thede’s new Instagram photo featuring the Black Lady Sketch Show creator flanked by Colman Domingo and husband Raul Domingo. The stunning black-and-white image was shot by photographer Ryan Slack on Saturday night inside The Hollywood Reporter’s exclusive photo booth during the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s 17th annual Evening Before benefit.

Gen V may have wrapped its freshman run late last year, but the cast is already slated to return for another exciting chapter as Prime Video renewed the college-set spinoff of The Boys for a second season. Following the finale, TV Insider caught up with stars Jaz Sinclair, London Thor, Derek Luh, Lizze Broadway, Asa Germann, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, who weighed in on cast and character superlatives. In the video above, they get silly and candid about everything from who would be least fazed by the chaotic world of Gen V to which of them is the “neat freak” of the group. (Credit: Prime Video) But perhaps one of the most important questions they’re answering is which character from The Boys (which returns for a fourth season this year) they’d most like to share the screen with at some point. “Butcher and Kimiko,” Thor answers easily, referring to...

In 2019, Lizze Broadway was at San Diego Comic-Con when the whispers began. “The Boys are coming. The Boys are coming.” A few minutes later, castmembers including Karl Urban and Jack Quaid walked by, seemingly in slow motion. “For a show I knew nothing about, this moment stuck with me big time,” says Broadway, who plays size-changing student Emma. Four years later, Broadway and her fellow cast were preparing to show off Amazon’s college-set The Boys spinoff, Gen V, at their own Comic-Con panel — a chance to assure the 4,800 or so fans of The Boys who were packed into the convention center that the new series would be just as raunchy and violent as the mother ship. The strike derailed that. But, months later, the Gen V team tells THR how it would have gone down.

There is no task too tough for “Gen V’s” makeup department head Colin Penman.
Across three seasons of Prime Video’s and Sony Pictures Television’s “The Boys,” and now its spinoff, “Gen V,” Penman has been assigned to creating an exploding penis, a five-foot-tall penis and, most recently, puppets who get into a bloody massacre.
The show’s executive producers Eric Kripke and Michele Fazekas wanted to take a fight sequence idea to the next level for “Gen V.” Penman happened to have puppet-making skills on his resume.
Fazekas explained the genesis behind the idea, “We had talked about real Sam [Asa Germann], and his arc is sort of struggling with mental illness. We said, ‘If he’s under stress and hallucinating, what is “The Boys” world’s version of a hallucination?'”

This article contains spoilers for the Gen V finale and The Boys comic.
With the bloody first season of Gen V now over, Amazon Studios has released first look posters for the next chapter in this universe, The Boys season 4. Season 3 of The Boys and Gen V have both been building toward an important presidential election, and these images hint at who may end up winning.
The images are simple – the first shows Homelander (Antony Starr) standing triumphantly as confetti rains down upon him while the second shows Butcher (Karl Urban) staring down at the aftermath of the celebration, clearly disappointed in the results.

While Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan (London Thor & Derek Luh), and Emma (Lizze Broadway) try to combat the sudden and dangerous situation, Vought’s Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) finds herself trapped with fellow board members amid the chaos. The folks behind "The Boys" and its college-set spinoff, "Gen V," really love to explore the possibilities of superhuman sex. Sure, it's something comic book nerds have been doing since the genre began, but they really get into it. In "The Boys," there's an entire supe orgy that is about as wild as you would expect, some oral sex that ends in a crushed skull, and a graphic sex scene that involves a shrinking supe going into another supe's penis, so the team behind "Gen V" really had their work cut out for them. The college-age supes are having just as much sex as their older counterparts, and it's just as bizarre, as the show has demonstrated. Poor Emma (Lizze Broadway) gave the world's weirdest "hand-job" while shrunk down to the size of an action figure, for starters, and things only get pervier when the show's main supes wake up...

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for Episode 8 of “Gen V,” the Season 1 finale (“Guardians of Godolkin”), now streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.
“The Boys” Season 4 doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but in a way, it has already started — at least for “Gen V” viewers. The Season 1 finale of “Gen V,” the spin-off to Prime Video’s wildly popular “The Boys,” featured Homelander (Antony Starr) and Butcher (Karl Urban) in key scenes that set up the storyline for “Gen V” Season 2. But according to “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke and “Gen V” co-showrunner Michele Fazekas, the finale also leads right into what happens next season on “The Boys.”
In the episode, Butcher appears in a brief mid-credits scene where he’s exploring a now-abandoned The Woods facility. He’s clearly aware of the supe virus that the deceased Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn) commissioned and tried to give...

Antony Starr and Karl Urban — who star on Amazon’s Prime Video drama “The Boys” as Homelander and Billy Butcher, respectively — reprised their roles in the Season 1 finale of “Gen V.” And it turns out they were gracious enough to do it on their “day off” from filming as Homelander assists some fledgling supervillains and Billy ties the Supe virus storyline to “The Boys” Season 4.
“Of course with Homelander, we were always kicking around, ‘When do you want to see him?’ And, ‘When do you want to pull that card?’ Because it’s a rare thing, and we didn’t want to squander it,” “Gen V” showrunner Michele Fazekas told TheWrap of Starr’s cameo. “It had come up throughout the season, and then it just made sense as the sort of thing to happen in the finale.

The first season of The Boys spinoff Gen V is coming to a close this week, and it seems like we’re in for a wild ride as the young supes of God U struggle to decide how to move forward after discovering the true nature of The Woods and its experiments.
With Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn) now dead at Cate’s (Maddie Phillips) behest, the threat of the virus seems to be quelled for now, but that doesn’t mean that Cate’s thirst for vengeance has. In the season finale preview, Cate and Sam (Asa Germann) band together to release the people being held in The Woods and seek justice for the atrocities committed against the young supes of God U. Their friends, however, don’t seem too thrilled by the gleam of violence in their eyes as the campus descends into chaos.

Since "Gen V" premiered, it became amply clear that there was something nefarious about The Woods, which seemed like an open secret among the adults occupying the ranks in Vought. As for the young adults, the weight of the truth was too much to bear: Luke/Golden Boy (Patrick Schwarzenegger) ended up dying by suicide due to the trauma of being mentally toyed with, while his brother Sam (Asa Germann) is currently unable to escape radical indoctrination despite being free. The others — Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Andre (Chance Perdomo), Jordan (London Thor/David Luh), Cate (Maddie Philips), and Emma (Lizze Broadway) — wrestle their inner demons over the course of the episodes, trying to help uncover the unsavory secrets that lie beneath Godolkin. Until one of them goes rogue.

9 Questions With ‘Gen V’ Makeup Head: A Puppet Massacre and 1,000 Gallons of Blood (Exclusive Video)
Colin Penman, head of makeup for Prime Video’s hit “The Boys” spinoff “Gen V,” broke down the how the show pulled off its violent puppet massacre with a crew that had no puppet-building experience, and the most challenging prop that required 1,000 gallons of fake blood.
From action-packed fighting scenes, bloody explosions to human-sized fake penises, working on a show like “Gen V” isn’t for the faint of heart. And it calls for creatives like Penman, who have a unique set of skills that can help bring the ideas that come from the writers room to life, even if it’s building puppets.
“When we pitched [puppets] initially, we were like ‘This is going to sound crazy.’ And [Penman’s] like, ‘Oh, I’ve done that before.’ We may have started [making the puppets] a little into the previous episodes, but he had done this before. I couldn’t believe it,” showrunner Michele Fazekas told TheWrap in a previous interview.

This article contains spoilers for "Gen V" episode 6.
Entertainment circles are constantly thrown into some cyclical discourse on any given day, but my absolute least favorite is the debate about sex scenes. No matter how much is written about the subject and no matter how many of the same arguments are shouted into the void, the debate surrounding sex scenes wages on. Disregarding scenes that cross ethical boundaries (as that's an entirely different discussion), while I am staunchly pro-sex scene, I'll be the first to admit that not all sex scenes are created equal. Sometimes sex scenes, quite frankly, kind of suck. Plowing in without foreplay or lubricant is a great way to cause unnecessary tears, the fact no one ever gets up to get a towel after the fact (or pee to prevent UTIs) is wholly unrealistic, and then there's the issue of consent. Fortunately, "Gen V" is here to save the day,...

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for the latest episode of "Gen V."
We're well and truly in the home stretch now. Throughout each and every episode of "Gen V," the Prime Video series has taken us further and further into the depths of a whole new conspiracy. Not only is Godolkin University the furthest thing from the safe haven for young Supes it was marketed as, but the shocking death of Patrick Schwarzenegger's Golden Boy in the premiere has unraveled an even more disturbing mystery -- one that traces right to the heart of the Vought-funded institution. As has been previously confirmed, dean of students Indira Shetty (Shelley Conn) is well aware of the secret facility known as "The Woods" located underneath campus grounds, where renegade Supes have been imprisoned, tortured, and outright killed in the pursuit of devious ends. Now, however, we've learned exactly what all the insidious...

“Expanding the universe of The Boys with a series as bold as Gen V has been an incredible journey for us and our wonderful partners at Sony. From our first conversation with showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, along with Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen, we knew Gen V would push the boundaries. Their unapologetic approach is exactly what audiences love, and it has helped Gen V become the No. 1 series on Prime Video in over 130 countries,” said Vernon Sanders,...

I hope you’re up for accruing more student debt because The Boys spinoff Gen V is getting a second season at Amazon. The renewal arrives ahead of the Season 1 finale, scheduled to air on November 3 on Prime Video. While the Season 2 renewal is unsurprising, it’s welcomed news in the face of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and a general air of uncertainty circulating throughout the film and television arenas.
