“Killing Eve” fans have never seen Villanelle like this. The BBC America drama returned on Sunday night for Season 4 with what appears to be a major role reversal for its two lead characters: While Eve (Sandra Oh) is taking on a harder edge with a gun in hand, Villanelle (Jodie Comer) seems eager to take a more righteous path.
That has led Villanelle to a religious community, where she’s eager to prove that she’s not a monster. But in her haste to get baptized and prove her worth, Villanelle still gets in her own way. Enter what the show is calling her “Villanelle Vision”: Villanelle starts imagining a version of herself, dressed as Jesus Christ, who has some hard truths for the assassin.
Comer told Variety that playing the vision was “Terrifying. Fun. Hairy. I’ll leave you with that one,” she quipped. “I hope [viewers] enjoy it.

Killing Eve, BBC America’s thrilling, blood-soaked cat-and-mouse, will soon come to an end with its final season, and stars Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are grateful for the wild ride.
“For me, its been a tremendous gift that I’m really, really grateful for,” said Oh during the show’s Ctam panel on Thursday. “Very rarely do you get the opportunity as an actor…that you are able to grow in the act of creation.”
Set to debut Feb. 27 on BBC America and AMC+, Season 4 of Killing Eve picks up with Villanelle (Comer) and Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) in very different places. Following Eve and Villanelle’s exchange on the bridge, the former is on a revenge mission, while the latter has found a brand new community in an attempt to prove she’s not a “monster.” Having killed Paul, Carolyn goes to extraordinary lengths to continue to chase down...

BBC America’s “Killing Eve” is coming to an end, and on Tuesday the network revealed the trailer for its fourth and final season.
Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Eve (Sandra Oh) find themselves seeking to change their lives — Villanelle through therapy — in the new trailer. Is Villanelle developing a conscience while Eve goes in the opposite direction? The trailer sure seems to hint at that.
The final season will see Eve and Villanelle starting out in very different places. Eve is working on a revenge mission, while Villanelle is trying to prove she’s not a monster.
Meanwhile Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) is chasing down The Twelve and the person who ordered the hit on Kenny.
Each of the women are driven by “passion, revenge and obsession, building towards. messy, nuanced and totally glorious season finale,” according to AMC.
Season 4 is written by Laura Neal. Neal is also an executive producer on the series.

Exclusive: Olivia Nuzzi, the Washington correspondent for New York magazine who wrote some of the wildest stories about President Donald Trump during his four years in office, is turning her attention to television.
Nuzzi is working on a pitch-black satirical drama set in Washington, DC for AMC. She has teamed up with Killing Eve exec producer Gina Mingacci on the project, A Message From the State.
Although the logline is under wraps, Deadline understands it follows a young reporter in DC who defects from the mainstream media.
Nuzzi will write and exec produce with Mingacci, who struck an overall deal with AMC Studios in 2020.

“Killing Eve” will conclude with its upcoming fourth season, AMC Networks announced on Tuesday.
Production on the final eight episodes is set to begin in Europe and the U.K. this summer for a premiere on BBC America in 2022. “Sex Education” alum Laura Neal takes the reins as head writer on Season 4.
AMC also revealed Tuesday that it is currently developing “a number of potential spinoff ideas” to expand the series’ universe. No specific plot or character details have been revealed, but an individual familiar with the plans told TheWrap that any potential spinoff would center on new or supporting characters from the original show, not the characters played by Sandra Oh or Jodie Comer.
Sid Gentle Films, which produces the series for BBC America, will also produce any spinoffs.

AMC Studios has entered into multi-year overall deals with Rolin Jones, Gina Mingacci and Ray McKinnon.
Under the deals, all three will develop and produce new series for AMC Networks’ Entertainment Group as well as other content companies. The deals expand AMC Networks’ ongoing or previous creative partnerships with Jones, Mingacci and McKinnon.
“Our writers and producers are the center of everything we do and achieve, and I could not be happier to welcome (back) this massively talented triumvirate to AMC Networks,” said Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks’ Entertainment Group and AMC Studios. “Rolin, Gina and Ray are exceptional. Jones was the co-creator and showrunner of HBO’s upcoming “Perry Mason” series as well as the Season 1 executive producer and showrunner of “The Exorcist” for Fox.

AMC Studios is doubling down on overall deals – striking agreements with Perry Mason exec producer Rolin Jones, Killing Eve exec producer Gina Mingacci and Rectify creator Ray McKinnon.
This builds on previous overall deals including Fear The Walking Dead star Colman Domingo and comes as the company looks to grow its production arm.
All three have previously worked with AMC Networks; Mingacci, who was previously VP, development and current programming at BBC America, on Killing Eve, Jones on pilot Knifeman and McKinnon on SundanceTV’s Rectify.
Jones returns to the AMC fold, where he previously was under an overall deal, before moving to 20th Century Fox and Fox 21.
The arrangement with Mingacci is interesting given it marks one of the first times that a current executive at a British production company – in this case Killing Eve producer Sid Gentle Films – has struck an overall deal with a U.S.

“Killing Eve” kicked off season 3 in typically deadly fashion, with a suitably tragic character death.
Ratings-wise, the episode was watched by 1.1 million total viewers across both AMC and BBC America, which is down only a fraction on the season 2 premiere’s tally of 1.2 million, still the series high to date. However, that figure is still 4% higher than the season 2 Live+Same Day total viewership average.
In terms of the demographic breakdown, the premiere scored 424,000 total viewers among adults 25-54 and 330,000 among adults 18-49. The former numbers is down a little from the season 2 premiere (but up 33% from the finale and 8% from the season 2 average), while the latter is up a minute amount on last season’s debut (and also better than the season 2 finale by almost 30% and the season 2 average by 12%).

Great news “Killing Eve” fans, AMC has announced it is moving up the season 3 premiere by two weeks.
The acclaimed Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer series will now debut its third season on Sunday, April 12. The move comes as networks, cablers and streamers all contend with the programming and scheduling nightmare being caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
AMC, for instance, was forced to suspend production on both “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead,” meaning a substantial zombie-shaped hole will likely need to be filled in the network’s schedule.
“We know how adored this series is and we know how keen people are for great content right now,” said Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group and AMC Studios. “This season of ‘Killing Eve’ digs deep psychologically, and with actors like Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw the results are nothing short of astonishing. “Killing Eve” is the latest show to see its new season’s premiere date moved around amid production shutdowns and delays for other series due to the coronavirus pandemic. The third season of the Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh-led drama will now premiere two weeks earlier than previously scheduled, AMC Networks announced Friday.
“Killing Eve” Season 3, which was set to launch Sunday, April 26, will now debut Sunday, April 12 at 9/8c on BBC America and AMC. As had been previously announced, all eight episodes of the new season will be simulcast on both cable channels.
For AMC, “Killing Eve” will be filling the hole “The Walking Dead” has left in the network’s schedule, following the announcement that post-production could not be completed on the zombie apocalypse show’s Season 10 finale, so it will now air later this year as a special.

For AMC, “Killing Eve” will be filling the hole “The Walking Dead” has left in the network’s schedule, following the announcement that post-production could not be completed on the zombie apocalypse show’s Season 10 finale, so it will now air later this year as a special.

Continuing its tradition of naming a new head writer each season, BBC America’s “Killing Eve” has tapped Laura Neal to head Season 4. She succeeds Suzanne Heathcote, Emerald Fennell and series creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Neal, whose previous writing credits include “Sex Education” and “Secret Diary of a Call Girl,” will serve as writer and executive producer on the fourth season of the spy drama, which was picked up last month. Season 4 will go into production later this year.

Produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd for BBC America, the series revolves around Eve (Oh), an MI6 operative, and psychopath assassin Villanelle (Comer). That’s what’s behind this move… to have a big, premium network like AMC introduce this fantastic storytelling to an even broader array of viewers and fans.”

Exclusive: Killing Eve producer Sid Gentle Films is developing TV adaptation of Rejoicing At Her Wondrous Vulva the Young Woman Applauded Herself – a play written by newcomer Bella Heesom about female sexuality.
Sid Gentle will be hoping that it becomes the latest hit stage play to television, following the breakout success of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag, which started on stage at the Edinburgh Fringe.
The play has been described as being a “celebratory exploration of female sexuality”, taking audiences on a journey of self-discovery through pleasure, shame, pride, fury and jubilation. It aims to break free of the deeply internalized male gaze and features intimate stories, comic dialogues between Brain and Clitoris, and when words start to feel like a cage, dance.
It is Heesom’s latest play, following her debut, My Heart Has Exploded A Little Bit. She also hosts her own podcast, Rejoicing with Bella, and as well...
