Is "Castle" bringing a "Chuck" star back to the future? Joshua Gomez, who played the main character's bearded sidekick on five years of "Chuck," will guest star in the fifth episode of "Castle" Season 6.
Oddly, he's claiming to be a time traveler in that episode.
According to EW.com, Gomez will play a murder suspect who claims to have traveled into the past in order to stop some terrible event from occurring. The police, however, think that he is just a murderer.
Is the man crazy? Or did -- as Castle (Nathan Fillion) will undoubtedly think -- actually travel through time?
This isn't the first time that an actor from "Chuck" has shown up on "Castle." Adam Baldwin, who played John Casey on "Chuck," reunited with his "Firefly" co-star Fillion on a 2012 episode of the police procedural. Bonita Friedericy, General Beckman on the spy comedy, also guest-starred on "Castle," playing a nun.

Adam Baldwin has had many iconic film and television roles. The ones he lists as his personal career milestones include Ricky Linderman in “My Bodyguard,” Animal Mother in “Full Metal Jacket,” John Casey on “Chuck,” and Albert Hockenberry in “D.C. Cab” (“I was a little overwhelmed,” Baldwin says of his time playing young Albert. “I was just a kid in a candy store of giant comedian crazy people.”).
And then, of course, there’s “Firefly” and the man they call Jayne: the brawler who loves weapons, women, and the orange hat his mom made. Jayne Cobb, “the mercenary with a heart of gold” and the Hero of Canton, is one of the most beloved characters in the Whedonverse and beyond.
It’s been a decade since “Firefly” and seven years since its big-screen follow-up, “Serenity,” but the series is still sorely missed by its cast. “We...

Last week, I wrote about the awesome folks of Warehouse 13, whom I was lucky enough to meet after attending their panel at Dragon*Con. But they weren’t the only fantastic people at the con, oh no. In fact, Dragon*Con is always so packed with amazing guests that I never get to see or meet all of them, and am left lamenting the fact that I missed Dean Cain’s panel or never got to say hi to Jewel Staite or Sean Maher in the Walk of Fame, despite running around from hotel to hotel like a hyperactive kid in a candy store. But I did get to see and meet a lot of cool folks, and that’s what I’m here to share, so here we go!

If "Firefly" isn't the most beloved Comic-Con TV show of the 21st century, it's easily in the top 2 or 3. Joss Whedon's space cowboy drama (which I revisited a couple of summers ago) had a short run, but has lived on in the hearts and minds of the fans, to the point where some shows featuring "Firefly" alums might as well not have brought any other actors to their panels. Even another Comic-Con institution like "Chuck" annually received one or two "Who'd win in a fight: John Casey or Jayne Cobb?" questions for Adam Baldwin. So I'm guessing the Ballroom 20 crowd will be going nuts...

Chicago – If television shows were deemed a success or failure based on the number of emails, comments, and call-ins to radio shows that were sent on their behalf, NBC’s “Chuck” would be one of the biggest programs of the last two decades. Every time we wrote about it or discussed it on the radio show, people got excited. The show didn’t have many fans, but they were Loyal and that’s why it stayed on the air much longer than it should have based on pure ratings numbers and that’s why WB has treated fans right through five Blu-ray releases.

The fifth and final season of “Chuck” gave the creators and fans a chance to say goodbye. The program itself had trouble finding its identity after the second season, in my opinion, but the strong ensemble still delivered some entertaining goods. And the special features on...

Nathan Fillion is in for some “sweet, sweet revenge,” as his former Firefly co-star Adam Baldwin calls it.
“It was great to be able to turn the tables on him finally. I was playing the subservient Jayne Cobb to his Mal Reynolds for a while and to get a chance to be a character who was a bit over his rank and be able to push him around a bit was just liberating,” he says. ”Plus, the opportunity to work with Nathan again — he’s such a loving and giving actor for anybody that he works with and especially for the old [Firefly] crew.

Rick Castle is about to get Slaughtered.
In this Monday’s episode of Castle (ABC, 10/9c), Nathan Fillion’s novelist will dive head first – for better or for worse – into a storyline with a rough, tough and gruff NYPD detective named Ethan Slaughter and played by Adam Baldwin.
And while the episode obviously offers the geeky thrill of a reunion between the onetime stars of Firefly (where Fillion played Capt. Mal Reynolds to Baldwin’s Jayne Cobb), it will also serve a larger purpose, as the ABC hit closes in on its “very emotional” Season 4 finale (airing May 7).

Nearly a decade has passed since Adam Baldwin played the hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne on Fox's criminally short-lived "Firefly." Since that time, Baldwin hasn't exactly been absent from the small screen. He was a regular on "The Inside" and "Day Break." He did guest appearances on shows including "Angel" and "Stargate Sg-1." There was also that little five-season run as John Casey on "Chuck," one of the few shows capable of giving "Firefly" a run when it comes to pure cult dedication. But for all of those credits in the intervening years, there's still something...

Adam Baldwin is a pretty big deal in the nerdy world of genre television.
The gun-toting Jayne Cobb of Firefly and the equally gun-toting John Casey of Chuck will guest-star in the next episode of Castle, "Headhunters." Baldwin talked about all of these shows when appearing at the Emerald City Comic-Con in Seattle. Keep reading to check out what he said and to watch a preview for next week's Castle episode.

Firefly fans, rejoice: Mal and Jayne are coming together again — on ABC’s Castle.
In his first post-Chuck gig, Adam Baldwin will be reunited with his former sci-fi series co-star Nathan Fillion on the hit ABC drama.
As first reported by TV Guide Magazine, Baldwin will guest-star in a spring episode of Castle as a “rough-and-tumble” detective named Ethan Slaughter. (John Casey would approve, no?)
Slaughter is said to show Castle a dirtier side of law enforcement, one that gives him a new, dangerous perspective on future cases that will ultimately put the mystery writer in harm’s way by season’s end.

Most TV critics wrote their top ten scenes of Chuck’s five season run right before the series finale which aired last Friday. Me? I had to wait for the final episode before I could do that. And even then… I needed a few days to process it all. Part of me wanted to put that final scene on the beach in here. Another part wanted me to put the final Jeffster performance in this list. But alas, no scenes from the final episodes make it into this article—though they do come close.
This article is titled “My Top Ten Chuck Scenes of All Time” because I know a lot of you may disagree with me—especially anyone who hated Shaw. (Sorry, season 3 is my favorite season of all time, and I credit a lot of that with Shaw, even when he was a good buy.) I don’t...

If the series finale of Chuck wasn’t a proper farewell, I do not know what is. These final two hours of Chuck were the most beautiful love letters to the fans, cast, crew, and everyone involved in supporting Chuck over these five incredible seasons. The comedy, the action, the romance, the geek references… it all came to an end last night in the most perfect way. Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak did not disappoint. Everyone poured their heart and soul into the finale and it showed. What a beautiful ending.

I have praised Chuck over the past five seasons for its ability to fuse comedy, action and heart into what I have dubbed here at TV Fanatic the Chuck Triple Threat.
This two-part series finale succeeded in making us laugh, and keeping us on the edge of our seat, but it was the overwhelming number of emotional triggers both "Chuck Versus Sarah" and "Chuck Versus the Goodbye" set off that made it an extremely satisfying ending.
At the outset. it seemed as if the whole "Sarah lost her memory and was going to be a problem" issue was resolved before it even started, but they flipped that scenario right on its head. Sarah, in fact, never got all of her memory back from what the intersect and Quinn did to her, which just gave us more time to watch Chuck attempt to jog it.

The following Q&A contains major spoilers from Friday night’s series finale of NBC’s Chuck.
Well, Chuck me. It’s all over.
NBC’s beloved spy comedy wrapped up its five-year run on Friday night, with a first hour that was full of thrills and chills and a second episode that, in the very end, was full of heart. Which finale scene was set in stone a while back? What hidden “Easter eggs” might watchful fans have caught? And perhaps most critically, what should we make of that closing scene? Series creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak answer those questions and others.

Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski is many things. Beautiful. Sexy. Quite convincing as a butt-kicking secret agent.
But she is not an easy cry.

Just like in the children’s tale of the “little engine that could,” Chuck was a television show that kept on chugging away against all odds and carved out a place in television history by running five seasons on the sheer will-power of its fans. Millions of Subway sandwiches later, the fans are still passionately devoted to their show. Having coined the phrases: Nerd Herd, Buy More and Captain Awesome, as well as creating a whole new dialect comprised of “the Intersect”, “flashes” and “Jeffster” and redefining what it means when a TV show is “on the bubble,” Chuck is now legendary. It not only created a universally-accepted and widely used lexicon, Chuck also introduced characters which fans fell in love with from around the globe. Zap2it went to the set of "Chuck" during its final days of filming in December. As we count down to the Jan. 27 series finale, we'll be running interviews from that final set visit all this week. First up: two-thirds of the show's core spy team, Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin.

Chuck began with a very special opening title, one fans will definitely appreciate especially since this was not the series finale and fans would love nothing more for familiarity come then. Perhaps the original opening awaits us in the finale episode? No matter, this week was the calm before the storm and an almost movie like opening set the tone perfectly for this week and the final episode. Embrace the movie like opening, people because this is it.

In “Chuck vs. Bo,” Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) wasted no time in coming straight out about her thoughts of quitting the spy game to Chuck (Zachary Levi) and shift Carmichael Industries to an office job rather than a field job. But before this transition began, the team took some of their spy gear to Colorado for one last mission where Morgan (Joshua Gomez) was reunited with Bo Derek….his past “lover!” The first thing that surely came to everyone’s mind was, when did that happen? The next thought… what is Bo up to now in the world of Chuck? The title of the episode clearly details Bo as the bad guy. So it came as no surprise that Bo was involved with the case of the intersect. Is it safe to say she is our final female villain? Either way, it all made for one of the most entertaining episodes this season.

Season 4 Premiere: Monday, September 20 at 8:00pm Et/Pt on NBC.
We Chuck fans know that the fact that I could write “Season 4 Premiere” above is pretty awesome. For those not in the know, Chuck was supposed to be a Dead Spy Walking last season. Thanks to the great Subway Sandwich campaign at the end of Season Two, NBC renewed Chuck for a thirteen episode Season Three (as opposed to a normal twenty-two). We were all happy to receive just that, but when The Jay Leno Show tanked, NBC found it needed more hours of programming, so Chuck, which had a bit of an uptick in its ratings, was asked to produce six more hours. Since those additional six hours were ordered after the original thirteen episodes were plotted out, it was as if Season Three had two full storylines and two finales. All the better for us Chucksters! So...

Update: In addition to all the guest casting news below, we've also learned that former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton will join the Chuck cast for a multi-episode arc!
Details are few and far between, but we know that Dalton will play a man of mystery with some relationship to Chuck's mother Mary Elizabeth Bartowski, previously reported to be played by Terminator actress Linda Hamilton.
While of course most remember Dalton's portrayal of the legendary secret agent in The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill, Timothy was also seen in Edgar Wright's Hot Fuzz, and heard in Toy Story 3.

Hold on to your hats nerd-herders, because Chuck's about to jump to a whole new level of geekdom.
As if it hadn't already been cool enough to have Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) as Stephen Bartowski, we've learned that Mary Elizabeth Bartowski, teased in the season three finale "Chuck Vs. The Ring Pt. 2," will be played by none other Sarah Connor herself, Linda Hamilton! Geekgasm!
Creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak joked about Linda's casting being a fanmade inspiration that eventually found her way to Linda herself, at which point she contacted them curious about the rumor. "You don't say no to Linda Hamilton," Schwartz joked.
We also got a chance to speak with the cast after the panel, so here's a rundown of everything we saw and learned:
No live Jeffster performance this year, but instead a glorious music video of the pair's version of Lady GaGa's "Bad Romance.

Normal 0 false false false En-us X-none X-none MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Woo! Nothing like a good Chuck finale to get you pumped, especially when you're guaranteed at least another 13 episodes. The back to back airing of "Chuck Vs. The Subway" and "Chuck Vs. The Ring, Pt. 2" should be enough to convince any doubters why this show remains on the air, mostly if not completely redeeming a few of the season three clunkers it took to get to this point.
Obviously, the most controversial aspect of season three came in Brandon Routh's Agent Shaw, who had difficulty getting off the ground for a number of reasons. Brandon never brought anything particularly special to the role, but it's hard to blame him when the writing simply wasn't clear enough to motivate his choices. Either way, his return from "The Living Dead" was bound to ruffle a few Nerd Herd feathers.
And while I wouldn't...

As promised, here are the paragraphs that I took out of an interview I posted a few days ago, a chat with "Chuck" co-creator Josh Schwartz. What's below refers to things that happened in Monday's episode of "Chuck," so it may be best to read this if you've already seen the episode. Feel free to share your thoughts on Monday's 3D episode below. Also, here's an interview with Schwartz from Daniel Fienberg of HitFix.com. And here's a good piece on Adam Baldwin, who plays John Casey on the show. And if you want to know more about what's coming up...

Chicago – NBC’s “Chuck” returns this week with a clever 3D episode with guest appearances by Dominic Monaghan (“Lost”) and former NFL star Jerome Bettis and featuring most of what works about this reliably fun show.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0 “Chuck Versus The Third Dimension” opens with what a large portion of the show’s viewing audience will think of first when they think of this show in 3D - the stunning Yvonne Strahovsky looking sexy as ever in more than two dimensions. Chuck (Zachary Levi) is still dreaming about Sarah but what starts off steamy soon turns deadly. It’s the story of Chuck’s life.

I don’t want to say too much about Monday's "Chuck," (7 p.m. Monday, NBC) which is typically delightful. Or perhaps atypically; I think it's one of most enjoyable episodes the show has done. It certainly makes great use of the Buy More staff; I could watch a show that was just about the Buy More shenanigans, at this point. Anything involving those retail miscreants and John Casey is usually gold, as far as I'm concerned. In any case, I propose we meet back here on Tuesday and discuss the episode in the comment area of this post. I’ve got a...

After this season's Sarah-centric episode, it was only a matter of time until Josh Schwartz and company set their sights on John Casey, one of my favorite characters on television today. He's just so…mysterious, full of cynicism and humor; plus, as my buddy Margaret Lyons puts it, he gets all the best lines. But I found tonight's episode to be quite a disappointment—it wasn't so much what was said about Casey, but how it was said. First: what we know now. Casey trained with a sensei in 1994, one who saw potential in an unfortunately hair-cutted 23-year-old, though not enough to admit him to the master's program. As it turns out, that's how he turns CIA agents away from the greater good, using them for his own diabolical ends (of which I'm still not quite clear). Casey runs into him in the present day, and fails to...
