Mulholland Dr. (2001)
Amateur Terrible Pile of Garbage
Amateur Terrible Pile of Garbage
I cannot understand any praise for this worthless effort at making a movie.
David Lynch is the most over-rated and over-hyped awful director who ever made movies. This is another of his worthless movies that make no sense, that give clue after clue for no reason.
The movie is a failed TV pilot that was reworked into a needlessly made movie that has bad acting and is amateur in every way with no suspense. Any low budget film is better than this worthless drivel by amateur Lynch.
Dune (1984)
Stiff Bad Filmmaking
This movie Dune is a mess and boring to tears. It was long-winded and captured nothing good as cinematic experience. Dune is not a movie that will stand the test of time, and all it does is show special effects that are not interesting. The story is not riveting or suspenseful. I would never recommend this movie to anyone.
Die Hard (1988)
As Amazing As Ever
Die Hard still ranks among the best action movies ever made. Bruce Willis plays his part to perfection. The story unfolds in a simple and understated way. The suspense builds very well to a crescendo. There have been many films after this that tried to emulate the style, but this is the movie to go to for action thrills. Highly recommended.
Twin Peaks (1990)
Twin Peaks Bad Series with Stiff Stiff Stiff terrible directing and performances
Another pretentious effort from over-rated Lynch. The series goes nowhere and all the build up is nonsense. Twin Peaks is over-rated and stiff performances make this a not very good watch for people who like good stories. There's not one episode that is entertaining. The Laura Palmer case is not worth watching, is not told well, and the series is just a riff off much better stories and films.
DumbLand (2002)
Lynch is Dumbland
Another pretentious annoying effort from Lynch. The series goes nowhere and is not interesting. To put things plainly, Dumbland is an insulting waste of time and money. The series shows nearly no effort and shows that filmmaking behind this is dumb and Lynch does not make any laughs, just boredom and idiotic sketches that lead nowhere like all Lynch's work. This Dumbland series is a waste of time.
Twin Peaks: The Return (2017)
Absolutely Amateur Bad
This is another bad movie from the over-rated Lynch. The whole Twin Peaks series is a mess and makes no sense. The series is just an endless stream of incoherent nonsense that adds up to nothing, like all Lynch movies. I would recommend this series to no one.
Inland Empire (2006)
Absolutely Amateur Movie
This movie 'Inland Empire' was terrible. The story is incoherent and none of the scenes makes any sense. The soundtrack was bad too. I think this is what is artsy pretentious bad moviemaking at its lowest and worst. The movie is just a stream of scenes. This is what is amateur. I would avoid this film at all costs. This movie Inland Empire is garbage.
No Country for Old Men (2007)
No Country For Old Men, Understated and Intense Classic
I think No Country For Old Men is one of the better films by the Coen Bros. The performance by Javier Bardem is genuinely terrifying as the villain. Josh Brolin pulls off a pretty understated, intense performance as well as the man who finds a bag full of cash and doesn't won't give the money back. The film had me pulled in from beginning to end. There are a lot of good twists, and I find that the film is a mix of thriller and western in a pretty excellent way. The only beef I had with the movie was the ending was a bit awkward, but that doesn't hurt the film's overall quality in my opinion. Definitely a movie to check out if you like the Coen films or thrillers in general. A classic of its type. 8/10.
Hit and Run (2009)
An Absolute Classic (Hit and Run unrated)
This movie is an absolute classic of B Movies in all respects. It has all the elements that I think make a great thriller and horror film. There are great weird twists, situations, and visual flourishes. The film has a very suspenseful storyline about a woman (Mary Murdock) who accidentally hits a man (Timothy Emser played by a transformed Kevin Corrigan) on the road and unknowingly brings him back to her garage on her bumper. The story is original, with some elements of urban folklore sprinkled in as well. The film unfolds fluidly, and goes more and more bonkers and wild, and I was sitting on the edge of my seat through the whole thing in a sweat. The acting, I thought, was pretty good and believable. Corrigan pulls off a shocking performance. Twist after twist, the movie had me pulled in to the very last scene. B Movie at its best. 9/10
Quarantine (2008)
An excellent horror movie that puts the original to shame
I really liked QUARANTINE. It was way better than REC. How was it better? The acting, much more serious and believable. The camera work was much more smooth. Rec was way too shaky video. The story was better told. The scary parts were way more scary and gave me goosebumps. The only problem I had with it was the length. It was about fifteen minutes too long in my humble opinion. If it was a little shorter, this would have gotten an 8.5/10 from me. It stands out also for being one of the rare times when a remake is a lot of improvement over the original movie. Don't get me wrong, the original is not a bad small movie, but it just isn't crafted that great. This is one is. If you missed it or hesitating seeing it because you think it was worse than the original, think about checking it out. 7/10.
