Corey Feldman has a lot to be thankful for on his 45th birthday. The former child star, who turned 45 on Saturday, recently released a new double-album titled Angelic 2 the Core, which had been in the works for over a decade. "I feel very grateful and very lucky to be alive still, to have any kind of semblance of normal life," he tells the AP. 'Tis the season to annoy everyone by using "'tis the season" way too many times when talking about holiday stuff. Halloween hasn't even happened yet, but the Christmas decorations are already taking over drug stores so ABC is just going ahead and announcing its 2015 holiday lineup. It's something to look forward to after the candy is gone, anyway, and since the "Toy Story 20th Anniversary Special" and "It's Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown" are involved, you should definitely mark your calendars.
Here's a chronological list of holiday programming highlights, via ABC:
Friday, November 27
"Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" - In the perennial favorite created in 1970 by Rankin-Bass Productions ("Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Frosty the Snowman"), Fred Astaire narrates this timeless tale of Kris Kringle (Mickey Rooney), a young boy with an immense desire to do good things for others. The vocal cast features Mickey Rooney as Kris Kringle, Keenan Wynn as Winter,...

This week it’s the 1977 live action Disney musical “Pete’s Dragon” that sprinkles in a few bits of animation (directed by Don Bluth) amongst such stars as Helen Reddy (“I Am Woman”) and Mickey Rooney (from that racist part in “Breakfast At Tiffany’s”). We figured it was just enough animation to qualify for this show. Enjoy!

If you missed Part 1 and Part 2 of our Silent Night, Deadly Night retrospective, be sure to check them out before you proceed!
After Silent Night, Deadly Night: Part 2 failed to garner even half the reaction that the original film did, the subsequent installments in the franchise from that point forward all went straight-to-video. It was in 1989 that rights holders Live Entertainment – who had released the first two films on VHS – spearheaded the revival of the series, rushing a second sequel into production.
Independent producer Arthur Gorson was the man put in charge of the third installment, hired for the job in March of 1989 with the mission of having the film finished and released on video in time for that year’s holiday season. Gorson was and still is to this day good friends with veteran filmmaker Monte Hellman (Two-Lane Blacktop), who he suggested as director of the project. Though Gorson...

Aliya salutes one of Hollywood's most suave and talented actors - the great Louis Jourdan...
Traditionally Hollywood works in boxes. It finds a box, and then it places an actor in it. The box of the French lover has been filled by quite a few stars over the years: Charles Boyer, Maurice Chevalier, Yves Montand, Pepe Le Pew, Alain Delon, and even Gerard Depardieu for one moment in the madly entertaining Green Card.
Louis Jourdan was the most classically handsome of these actors (yes, even more debonair than the skunk). He had a smile that the camera loved and a way of cocking his head and crossing his legs that exuded style. Most well known for Vincent Minnelli’s chocolate-box love affair with France, Gigi, he brought a sense of humour to the film that kept it fresh, but it was a retread of his standard role.

Our countdown of our favourite films of 2012 arrives at the cinematic revival of The Muppets...
Soaring back onto the big screen for the first time since Muppets From Space, The Muppets finally made it to the UK in 2012. It was worth the wait. It's made it up this high in our top ten films of the year poll amongst our writers not necessarily by earning lots of first place placements, but instead by appearing on so many people's top five lists somewhere. Ladies and gentlemen, The Muppets...
6th place: The Muppets
The decision by Disney to keep the UK waiting an extra three months for the British release of The Muppets has had, you might have noticed, an unexpected side effect. Whilst the film is ostensibly a 2011 release, it didn't make it to the UK until February 2012. And given that our criteria for film of 2012 is...

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
It is a downright disgrace that it took so long for the Muppets to recapture everyone’s hearts again. For some of us they never went away, with The Muppet Show a permanent fixture within our collections and the best of the previous movies permanently in rotation (especially at Christmas when A Muppet Christmas Carol is now a tradition). But Hollywood definitely forgot, after poor sequels and a distinct lack of fresh ideas undermined the fundamental appeal of Jim Henson’s characters, and unthinkably the puppets were consigned to a dusty backroom on an unused Hollywood lot.
But now thanks to Jason Segel, writing partner Nicholas Stoller and director James Bobin it’s time to play the music once again, and it doesn’t look like the lights are going to go out again any time soon. Because the team that have brought the Muppets back to the big screen,...

There’s truly no place quite like Hollywood. For the third straight year, the TCM Classic Film Festival was staged in the historic center of the world’s film industry. The event once again united a great community of film fans. The 2012 event celebrated style in the movies, from fashion to architecture and everything in between and lined up great films, terrific guests and many special events.
There were so many classic films to choose from over the 4-day festival, it was nearly impossible to decide what to see! Here are a few of my favorites from the weekend.
Auntie Mame (1958) .
Fantastically restored, and screened at the legendary Egyptian Theater, this Rosalind Russell classic was easily a fan fave at the festival. Even at 9am on a Saturday morning, the house was packed. The screening was hosted by two-time Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Film Scholar Cari Beauchamp,...

Roald Dahl is a beloved children's book author who scares the hell out of me. I don't want to know where he lived, who raised him, or why he decided to address kids as an occupation, because the man is so, so disturbing. His Matilda is grim, his James and the Giant Peach is twisted, and his most beloved novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a frightening, cruel morality tale set in a candy-colored dystopia. I'm happy to report that Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the 1971 film adaptation of Dahl's sugary absinthe dream starring Gene Wilder, Oscar winner Jack Albertson, and a crew of unknowns, is just as frightening and cruel as the source material. And it has a secret gay relevance that I figured out only last night! Hooray! Now it's the Best Movie Ever.
I'm sure you know the story, but I'll dutifully recount it: Charlie...

The Muppets
Directed by: James Bobin
Cast: Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Amy Adams, Jason Segel, Chris Cooper
Running Time: 1 hr 38 mins
Rating: PG
Release Date: November 23, 2011
Plot: Walter (voice of Peter Linz) dreams of hanging out with the Muppets, and now with the help of his brother Gary (Segel), they have a chance of bringing Kermit, Miss Piggy and the whole gang together to save Muppet Studios.
Who’S It For? If you are nostalgic for the Muppets, you’ll be thrilled to see this film and hopefully share it with your whole family.
Expectations: Having Segel excited to bring the Muppets back to life on the big screen was enough for me to hold out hope that the Muppets could return to the pop culture forefront. That’s where they are going, right? I would love a new Muppet movie every three to four years.

A lot has been made of Jason Segel's attempt to create, with "The Muppets," a movie that measures up to the "original trilogy" -- "The Muppet Movie," "The Great Muppet Caper" and "The Muppets Take Manhattan" -- but one key element that often doesn't get mentioned is the music involved.
Any Muppets material looking to match those three titans has a tough musical row to hoe given the way songs like "The Rainbow Connection," "Movin' Right Along" and "Saying Goodbye" have been seared into the minds of a generation for decades. The bad news is that the soundtrack to "The Muppets" doesn't live up to those lofty standards. The good news is that, divorced of comparison to its predecessors, it's still a charming collection of original songs, covers, odds and ends that'll please Muppet fans interested in taking home a piece of the movie.

The Muppets
Directed by James Bobin
Written by Jason Segal and Nicholas Stoller, based on characters created by Jim Henson
imdb USA 2011
The central difficulty with reviving a beloved franchise like The Muppets is that what you gain in brand recognition, you lose in the established fan-base’s resistance to change. Keeping the older fans happy while pleasing new fans is a tricky tightrope to walk. The Muppets one big advantage over a franchise like Star Trek is that it is something that today’s parents loved as kids and that they are really looking forward to introducing to their children. That was certainly the case at the preview screening that I attended.
The Muppets come to theatres boasting the best marketing of any film this year. The clever, parody Muppet movie trailers have excited long-time fans of the Muppets and created new fans. At the same time, older fans...

Get ready to smile.
We're still not 100 percent sure what we think of the upcoming "Muppets" movie. Well, that's not entirely true – we're about 99 percent sure it's going to be tears-of-joy awesome and might just fix everything that is wrong with the world, but there's always a chance it could go off the rails despite the best efforts of funny guy Jason Segel, multiple Oscar nominee Amy Adams and, well, all those hilarious Muppets.
But a very encouraging sign that this chilly November is about to get a nice injection of heartwarming adorableness has just emerged from the film in the form of "Life Is a Happy Song," written by "Flight of the Conchords'" Bret McKenzie and featuring vocals from Feist, Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Mickey Rooney, and a (new) Muppet named Walter. If we see people skipping down the street later, at least now we'll know why.

Joanna Newsom and Feist will both appear on The Muppets soundtrack. That noise you can hear in the distance? That's the sound of hipsters exploding through sheer giddy joy. Newsom will be appearing on the iconic Muppet Show theme (we're not sure if she'll be singing, or just playing her harp, but either way we're ridiculously excited) and Feist will join Mickey Rooney (!) and many, many others for what looks set to be this film's Rainbow Connection, Life's A Happy Song. Joanna Newsom's voice is more divisive than a...

We’ve just received information that the world premiere of the brand new Michael Jackson biopic, is set to take place right in here in London. To celebrate, we’ve been given this brand new clip from the movie which is introduced by legendary music Producer and friend to the Jackson family, David Gest.
Following the announcement, we get to see a new clip from the movie entitled He Went to a New Level which I’ve placed in the video embedded below. When you see the clip you just scratch the surface of the impact that he made on the world. I was astonished at some of the clips seeing just a few of the people he met.
I’ve also placed the press release that we have been sent with full details on the World Premiere which is set to take place on November 2nd 2011 at the Empire Leicester Square.
