When it comes to the classics of cinema—and sometimes the dregs—it’s always fun to think about what might’ve been. Casting especially can be a strange alchemy between actor and role, and when the formula is off, it’s easy to ponder whether the spell would work at all. Can you imagine Robert Redford as Michael Corleone? What about Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones? And it’s an interesting challenge to envision what Tim Burton’s Batman might’ve been if it starred Bill Murray versus Robin Williams.
The casting of Neo in The Matrix is another legendary “what if?” in movie history. The 1999 classic, which just turned 25 years old earlier this month, is now beloved for its reinvention of Keanu Reeves. He plays Neo in the film; a former sad sack hacker who discovers he’s actually a superpowered messiah sent to free us from a digital prison.

Screened between 2021 and 2022, “The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm” is a 3-episode Ova taking place between the first and second season of “The Ancient Magus Bride”, just before Chise attends college. Considering that the first season ended in a way that could have well concluded the series as a whole, seeing where the story moves after that is intriguing by itself. Let us see where the whole thing leads us.

Fans of Western movies are in for a treat as Prime Video India has added the legendary Dollars Trilogy, starring Clint Eastwood, to its streaming library. The trilogy, directed by Sergio Leone, consists of three films: A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). The films are widely regarded as the best examples of the Spaghetti Western genre, which refers to Westerns made by Italian filmmakers in Spain.
The trilogy follows the exploits of a mysterious gunslinger, played by Eastwood, who is known as the Man with No Name. He is a master of the quick draw and a man of few words, who often finds himself in the middle of conflicts between rival factions, bounty hunters, and outlaws. A new animated feature adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Canterville Ghost is on the way. Deadline reports today that Shout! Studios and Blue Fox have teamed up to bring The Canterville Ghost to theaters this Halloween.
While no release date has been set just yet, Deadline reports that Shout! Studios and Blue Fox “sets the film for a strategic rollout across multiple platforms, beginning with a theatrical launch timed for Halloween.” That might make this another great gateway horror entry for the whole family this spooky season.
The animated reimagining of Wilde’s short story tells “of a modern American family that moves to their recently purchased country home, Canterville Chase in England, only to find it is haunted by a ghost. Effectively, Sir Simon de Canterville (Stephen Fry) has been haunting the grounds of Canterville Chase successfully for over 300 years, but he meets his match when he tries...

Characters are growing, being tested, and testing themselves.
Things are changing in the Dwl, and it's impossible not to feel the excitement creeping back into everyone. They might have hit a rough patch, but they're moving through it and taking things to the next level.
There were three significant developments on Heels Season 2 Episode 4, and that's where we'll focus our time in this review.
First, let's talk about Crystal and the Women's Division.
She's done a lot of work getting herself into ring shape, but when she had to face off against a woman, the gloves came off, and she had to fight harder than she ever had to with the guys.
Tanya, aka El Dorado, has seen it all. She's been on the circuit for a long time, living on the road and taking each fight as they come available. Without an actual women's division, she was effectively freelance.

It’s no mystery why Only Murders in the Building is killing it on Hulu. Besides the national obsession with true crime, there is a chemical reaction to the players which triggers a chaotic element unknown in forensics. Selina Gomez’s (occasionally “Bloody”) Mabel Mora ties up the loose ends. You might say she Martinizes them. It is harder to find looser ends than Steve Martin and Martin Short. As Charles-Haden Savage and Oliver Putnam, respectively, the two performers may stick to the scripts in the series, but they spent over a generation improvising over each other.
Martin and Short met while shooting the 1986 film Three Amigos! with Chevy Chase. Admiring new friend Steve’s opulent home, Martin was moved to ask “How did you get so rich,” he recalled on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, marveling at its improbability by admitting “I’ve seen your work.” They’ve been collaborating ever since,...

Cheryl Strayed’s “Tiny Beautiful Things” was the opposite of an obvious adaptation.
Composed of advice columns addressed to relationship aficionado, Sugar — an alias that Strayed took on through literary magazine “The Rumpus” — the Hulu adaptation weaves three timelines together of the life of Clare Pierce (played by Kathryn Hahn). Creatives across Hulu, ABC Signature and Hello Sunshine put their heads together to weave the letters and details of Strayed’s life into a reimagined version of Strayed who hadn’t hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, allowing Tigelaar to create what she calls one of her beloved “Little Families.” Tigelaar encouraged the team to think beyond the typical TV formula.
“With most pilots… by the end of the pilot, [Clare] has to unequivocally decide she is taking on this advice column… that’s ingrained in me from a storytelling perspective,” showrunner Liz Tigelaar told TheWrap. “It was really important to me...

Just as film and TV have the Oscars and the Emmys, The Podcast Academy is positioning the Ambies to become the event of the year for the podcast industry as well as the newest fixture of Hollywood awards season, complete with shiny statuettes and a swanky ceremony that, for at least one evening, compels podcasters to dress for the camera.
Hosted by Larry Wilmore, the annual event’s third edition is taking place March 7 at the Westgate Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The company to beat will be Audible, which received a total of 19 nominations across the 26 Ambies categories, including several nods for podcast of the year (see below).
The Podcast Academy received a record 1,700 submissions this year, which were narrowed down by a blue-ribbon panel of judges — who apply every year to be part of the panel — to determine the nominees in each category. From there, voting opened up...

Click here to read the full article.
Netflix Animation showcased a bevy of upcoming, diverse projects this week at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival: That included the unveiling of a scene from the anticipated Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio; the world premiere of Oscar winner Chris Williams’ original The Sea Beast, which premieres July 8 on the streaming service; and new footage from Henry Selick and Jordan Peele’s stop-motion Wendell & Wild.
The animation arm has been closely watched since April, when during its first-quarter earnings announcement, Netflix reported it had lost 200,000 subscribers in the quarter and expected to lose an additional 2 million during the second quarter. Since then, its animation business was affected by layoffs and several cancelled projects, such as Meghan Markle’s Pearl.
At the the same time, Netflix Animation is the process of opening a new Burbank facility to house its original feature animation projects.
