‘Race Across The World’ Commissioner David Brindley Quits The BBC To Join ITV Studios-Backed Twofour
Twofour Group has moved quickly to fill a creative hole opened up by the departures of Melanie Leach and Andrew Mackenzie by hiring BBC commissioner David Brindley as creative director.
Brindley has won admirers during his tenure as head of popular factual and factual entertainment at the BBC, and is responsible for commissioning hits including Studio Lambert’s Race Across The World and Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.
Brindley joined the BBC in 2016 from Channel 4, where he spent three years as a commissioner. Prior to that, he worked at Twofour on documentaries such as Emmy-winning Educating Yorkshire, meaning his appointment is something of a reunion with his former employer.
Brindley is the most eye-catching hire in a management overhaul at ITV Studios-owned Twofour after Deadline exclusively revealed last month that Leach and Mackenzie were leaving to set up South Shore, another ITV-backed production venture.

South Shore will produce documentaries, popular factual programming and entertainment formats. Leach and Mackenzie are to continue to oversee Twofour until talks with ITV Studios close. Twofour CFO and COO Anthony Hughes will also join them at South Shore.

Exclusive: Netflix has planted the seeds for The Big Flower Fight (w/t) – a major new competition format rooted in the UK.
The eight-part series has sprouted from ITV Studios-owned Multistory Media. It comes as Netflix continues to grow out its non-scripted library and builds on hit competition originals including Nailed It! and The Final Table.
The series will see ten duos, including florists, sculptors and garden designers, put to the test as they compete in a series of themed challenges to create large-scale flower installations.
Each episode will test a different set of creative and practical skills, from floristry to carpentry and landscaping. The materials each pair can use to create their installation will vary week-by-week, and participants will be encouraged to think about plants which give back to the environment – such as pollinating, insect-friendly species. One team will be eliminated each week as the competition intensifies, leaving...

And let’s be honest, the premise of the Dead Rising games is just about absurd enough to work as a movie and with this being the second outing well have they learnt.

Dead Rising fans can look forward to two stocking stuffers this holiday season. In addition to Capcom unleashing the wisecracking wrath of Frank West in the new video game Dead Rising 4 on December 6th, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will also release Dead Rising: Endgame on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on that same day.
Press Release (via Home Theater Forum): Culver City, Calif. (Oct. 10, 2016) – Prepare for a nonstop assault of zombie-slaying action when Dead Rising: Endgame debuts on Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital December 6 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The action-packed sequel to Dead Rising: Watchtower chronicles the return of Jesse Metcalfe (“Dallas,” “Desperate Housewives”) as Chase Carter, an investigative journalist haunted by his past and now hunted by the military. After narrowly escaping a zombie quarantine, Chase—along with a group of dubious allies—slices, hacks and bludgeons his way through the zombie hordes that plague every corner of the abandoned city.

Last week at Comic-Con, I participated in roundtable interviews for Dead Rising: Endgame, the second film based on Capcom’s popular zombie video game franchise. With the Legendary Digital Media movie now available to watch on Crackle, the cast and crew discussed their badass characters in the sequel, plans for a Dead Rising TV series, and much more.
Keegan Connor Tracy and Marie Avgeropoulos on what attracted them to the Dead Rising franchise:
Keegan Connor Tracy: My role was actually supposed to be a man in the beginning. For whatever reason, they let me audition, even though it was supposed to be a man. I liked that. I liked that she was a strong character in that respect because originally she was meant to be a man. I felt that if they had written her as a woman, they wouldn’t have written her that way. I don’t understand Crackle’s Dead Rising franchise. Capcom built this zany, wild video game universe that’d be perfect for a hybrid experience somewhere between The Warriors and 28 Days Later, yet these movies are generically neutered. References to original content are just lazy winks, while the whole “psychopaths” arc is completely abandoned in favor of a boring Zombrex conspiracy. I was hoping that Dead Rising: Endgame would atone for Watchtower‘s forgettable adaptation, but, unfortunately, new director Pat Williams falls victim to the same dull tricks from Zach Lipovsky’s first attempt.
Jesse Metcalfe once again stars as investigative journalist Chase Carter, who must journey into the heart of East Mission to stop General Lyons (Dennis Haysbert) from killing every Zombrex-using survivor. Since the first film, technology has been developed that releases Zombrex doses through an implanted chip, but Lyons wants to overload the system and use the...

Legendary Digital Media, Contradiction Films and game developer Comcept Inc. are teaming to develop a live-action feature based on the upcoming video game "Mighty No. 9" which hits stores September 15th.
Legendary Digital and Contradiction previously teamed to produce "Dead Rising: Watchtower," a feature-length adaptation of the zombie video game series "Dead Rising," which premiered on Crackle's online streaming service. A sequel to that is already in the works.
The plan is for the "Mighty No. 9" film to have a similar digital platform premiere. Comcept CEO Keiji Inafune created the game which follows an android named Beck, the ninth in a team of ten combat robots called 'Mighty Numbers.'
When a computer virus strikes, attacking his fellow robots as well as machines around the world, Beck is the only one in his line of androids uninfected. Tomas Harlan and Tim Carter will develop and produce the movie.

I’ll confess that the Dead Rising franchise is near and dear to my heart, ever since I logged countless hours running around the Willamette Parkview Mall with a katana and a “protective” horse-head mask. Boasting insane contraptions, hordes of ferocious zombies, and psychopathic boss battles, the original game features enough cinematic fodder to string together its own wacky animated feature, but the thought of a live-action Dead Rising movie still packed an exciting punch. Thus, Dead Rising: Watchtower was born.
Unlike the games, Watchtower follows the exploits of a young internet journalist named Chase Carter (Jesse Metcalfe). Frank West (Rob Riggle) is a part of the chaos, but he watches as a zombie quarantine goes horribly awry form the safety of a television news room. Chase is the one who finds himself caught in the action, as a new Zombrex-proof virus strain traps the infected inside an East Mission...

Director: Zach Lipovsky. Writer: Tim Carter. Cast: Meghan Ory, Keegan Connor Tracy, Virginia Madsen and Jesse Metcalfe. Dead Rising: Watchtower is based on the Dead Rising series of games, from Capcom. This series is based on a zombie apocalypse, in the future. In the film, a quarantine zone gets overrun by the undead, with a reporter caught in the middle of the action. True popcorn fare, Dead Rising: Watchtower is easy on the lobes and quickly forgotten. But, the film is still entertaining as Chase Carter (Jesse Metcalfe) does his best to escape the quarantined zone. A social message, introduced late, involves the government and privacy. The message, along with the story, fall a little flat. Still, there are lots of great action scenes and the comedic tone creates for a few laughs. Dead Rising: Watchtower is a mostly enjoyable title, which does not challenge the noggin, too much. The...

Much like its stars, the zombie genre refuses to die. When Capcom released their sandbox zombie survival game “Dead Rising,” it became an instant hit. After all, who doesn’t want to run around an abandoned mall teeming with zombies while thinking of new and creative ways to kill them with merchandise? It’s what consumer dreams are made of. Now three entries deep into the series, and with over 7.6 million copies sold, Capcom is teaming up with Crackle to bring the world of “Dead Rising” to unlife. ”Dead Rising: Watchtower” follows Chase Carter (Jesse Metcalfe) as he journeys into the heart of a zombie-infested warzone. Carter hopes to get a career-defining scoop to help him make the jump from small-time online reporter to the big leagues. He is joined by Maggie (Virginia Madsen), a brave mother torn from her child. HitFix Harpy has the brand-new character poster for Maggie.

We're back with another round of videos, this time focusing our attention on two new teasers for The CW's iZombie, a faux commercial for the zombie preventative drug, Zombrex, a sought-after item in Dead Rising: Watchtower, as well as a look at Ghoul, a found footage horror film featuring a cannibalistic spirit.
iZombie: "Co-created and executive produced by Rob Thomas & Diane Ruggiero-Wright (Veronica Mars), along with executive producers Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge (also of Veronica Mars), Rose McIver (Masters of Sex, Once Upon a Time) stars as Olivia “Liv” Moore, a 25-year-old medical resident on the fast track to a perfect life … until she’s turned into a zombie. Liv transfers her residency to the coroner’s office for access to the brains she must reluctantly eat, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart will soon have a claim to fame as two female superheroes. The YouTubers have teamed with Legendary Digital Media and Fullscreen to bring the online video masses a reboot of the 1970’s TV show Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl tells the story of two superheroes who leave Akron, Ohio, for Los Angeles, California, to find better crime-fighting opportunities. However, the two women endowed with unique powers reach the City of Angels only to find far more competition (both internal and external) than they were expecting. Helbig will star as Electra Woman and Hart as Dyna Girl.
While the format and platform of the Electra Woman and Dyna Girl project is yet to be determined, Fullscreen is on board to release the project in the U.S., with Legendary Television Distribution handling global distribution. Music video director Chris Marrs Piliero is set to helm the project,...

In addition to its swarming hordes of zombies, Capcom’s Dead Rising video games have always followed interesting human characters striving to survive the streets and buildings choked with the living dead, and now those people will come to life in Dead Rising: Watchtower, a live action film adaptation of the video game franchise from Legendary Digital Media and Crackle that’s showcased in a new trailer.
Dead Rising: Watchtower will be available to stream on Crackle beginning March 27th.
“Principal cast for the upcoming feature-length project includes Jesse Metcalfe (Dallas), Meghan Ory (Intelligence, Once Upon a Time), Virginia Madsen (Sideways) and Dennis Haysbert ( 24, Men, Women & Children).

We are getting another movie based off a popular video game, and it of course includes more zombies! If you have been waiting to see anything regarding the Dead Rising movie, come check out the first trailer!
It's really hard to base an opinion off this trailer. I can't tell if it is taking itself seriously, or not. If it's not, then it looks farely decent because it looks like a low grade zombie movie with jokes. After all, how can you take Dead Rising seriously? Don't fret though, I had the same problem with the Ant Man trailer.
The good news? Even if this movie is terrible you won't waste a whole lot of money seeing it in theaters. Instead the film will debut on Crackle (Sony's ad runned video service) on March 27th. It should be free to watch, well if you don't count watching ads.

A couple of months ago Legendary Pictures announced that they would be developing a digital feature adaptation of the hit zombie video game Dead Rising. A film adaptation of Capcom’s popular survival horror video game franchise Dead Rising is shambling steadily forward, with news that Legendary Pictures’ new Legendary Digital Media division has set Leprechaun: Origins director Zach Lipovsky to helm the film, which will exclusively debut on Crackle before hitting Blu-Ray, TV and VOD services.
It’s exciting to see Lipovsky score a gig like this – the only reality TV show I ever invested time in was On the Lot, a short-lived filmmaking competition on which he placed fifth. Back then, I recall Lipovsky delivering some immensely enjoyable short films (see if you can find “Danger Zone” or “Die Hardly Working” online). Since that show, he has found success in horror – prior to Leprechaun: Origins, Lipovsky directed Tasmanian Devils and co-produced Afflicted.
Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the Dead Rising adaptation, which boasts a script by Mortal Kombat: Legacy producer Tim Carter.

Just shy of a year after the third installment of Capcom's hit video game franchise Dead Rising hit stores, we've just gotten word that the property is getting a feature film adaptation, which should put a huge smile on the faces of all who dig some good old fashioned undead mayhem.
Per IGN, Legendary has sold the domestic film rights for Dead Rising to Crackle, marking the first release from Legendary's digital division. The feature film will be exclusively available through the online distributor, followed by an Svod, DVD, VOD, and TV roll-out.
