Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith is not a fan of being told he looks like Will Ferrell, it seems. This certainly isn’t the first time people have picked up on the pair’s uncanny resemblance, but that didn’t stop Smith storming off stage after a gig-goer yelled the actor’s name during one of the […]...

[[tmz:video id="0_qje3esuz"]] The Red Hot Chili Peppers aren't retiring anytime soon, at least not according to Flea -- but it might depend on who you ask in the band. The legendary bassist was in Switzerland -- where Rhcp's headlining the Paleo Festival -- and we asked him about the big rumor that this could be their last tour. Flea says that would be news to him, and anyone else in the band, because they've made no plans to hang it up.

WaterTower Music has announced the February 3 CD and digital release of the soundtrack to the new animated adventure “The Lego® Batman Movie,” one week before the film opens in theatres on February 10. The collection features new music from Dnce, Alex Aiono, Patrick Stump, Oh, Hush! feat. Will Arnett and Jeff Lewis, Kirsten Arian, Justin Tranter, and more. The album also includes 16 of the film’s score cues by Grammy-winning composer Lorne Balfe, and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) on drums.
The film’s director Chris McKay describes Balfe as “one of the most talented and versatile people I’ve ever met.”
“Chris is an encyclopedic reference for action hero films, but to him the important thing is the heart of the story, so I didn’t think of it as a comic, but as real, live action,” offers Balfe. “Every scene is amazing. After the first day working on the film,...

Looks like Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
This weekend, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin performed at a fundraiser for Boys and Girls Club in Malibu, California, alongside fellow rockers Beck and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
But aside from his adult musician pals, Martin also played alongside some very special guests: son Moses, 10, and daughter Apple, 12, his children with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
In one clip, Apple looked every bit the mini-me version of her mom, belting out “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart” by Ariana Grande while her dad backed her up on the piano.

James Corden went back to the basics on Monday night when he joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a solid rock session in his latest edition of Carpool Karaoke. Just in time for the release of their new album, The Getaway, Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith, and Josh Klinghoffer bared all as they belted out a few of their biggest songs while driving around town. While you do get to see the fun and playful sides of their personalities, they also actually get shirtless as they sing along to "The Zephyr Song." And an added bonus? Anthony reveals a few truths about when Cher used to babysit him when he was a kid (hint: he had a huge crush). Check it out all above!

It was only a matter of time before “Carpool Karaoke” devolved into Greco-Roman wrestling — and the Red Hot Chili Peppers were always going to be the odds-on favorites to make that happen. Weirdly enough, three of the five commuters ended up taking their tops off after the match. Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer joined James Corden last night for his signature “Late Late Show” bit, singing their hits and even introducing the actor to a strange song called “Heemi Lheemey.” How that track didn’t make the “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” cut, we have no idea. The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at a benefit concert for Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders in Los Angeles last night, where the rockers did a 12-song set of classics, deep tracks, and even a cover of David Bowie's "Cracked Actor." Stephen Colbert has named Louisiana jazz musician Jon Batiste as his Late Show bandleader with a fittingly absurd video announcement. "People keep asking who my bandleader's gonna be," Colbert says, sitting down to a massive pile of New Orleans desert beignets, "Well, I like this guy." The camera pans over to the 28-year-old Batiste, who demonstrates his versatility by singing, playing some soulful piano and tossing off a wild melodica solo. "So good!" enthuses a powdered sugar-coated Colbert, when the camera cuts back 20 seconds later, revealing an empty plate.

For years he’s been compared to Will Ferrell and last night (May 22) Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith went head-to-head with the “Anchorman” actor in a drum-off on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
The “Give It Away” rocker wore his usual Kiss t-shirt, reversed ball cap and designer denim jeans and of course Ferrell copied the look exactly.
Fallon explained, “This is a traditional drum-off. You each get four solos. Whoever whacks, smacks and slaps the skins best wins. So without further ado, let the drum-off begin!”
And while Will was obviously mimicking playing the drums as house band drummer Questlove backed him up, Smith proved his percussive prowess with a stellar showing.
At one point Ferrell taunted Smith, “That was cute. Do you play for the Lukewarm Chili Peppers?” and afterwards the rest of the Red Hot Chili Peppers came out and Will grabbed a cowbell...

Will the real Chad Smith please stand up? Will Ferrell and the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer faced off an epic drum battle on Thursday's "Tonight Show." The duo has been told that they look alike for years, and the actor first mentioned the idea of a drum battle during a Reddit Ama in February. "It has been acknowledged many times that myself and Chad Smith, drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, share a resemblance to each other. A lot of people think that it's me playing for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But that would be an insult to Chad Smith. The truth of the matter is there is no Will Ferrell. Only Chad Smith." The drummer replied, writing, "Stop impersonating me. In fact, I need you...drum battle." He added, "Me and you. I've seen your skills; you don't got 'em. Let's go. Golden cowbell. Winner. Boom!

Will Ferrell puts his pants on one leg at a time, just like you. Except, once his pants are on, he stages hilarious late-night drum battles with his rock and roll lookalike.
For much of his career, Ferrell has been saddled with the gift and the curse of looking exactly like Chad Smith, drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This has resulted in a playful rivalry between the two men, with Ferrell pretending to be Smith after a recent Reddit Ama. Smith didn't take the insult lying down, challenging the comedian to a musical duel – drum vs. cowbell – all in the name of charity.

However, before Will Ferrell and Chad Smith battled on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday, the Anchorman actor, 46, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers rocker, 52, talked trash in Rolling Stone. "We're going to have a drum-off to see who the real Chad Smith is," Smith said, referring to Ferrell, who is often considered to be his celebrity look-alike. "I'm all for it. But unless Will's been practicing or is secretly a crazy, wild drummer, I think it'll be evident right off the bat who the real Chad Smith is." "I'm ready to take him down," Smith added. Ferrell did not rehearse. "There's no amount of...

Will Ferrell joked during his Reddit Ama (Ask Me Anything) session on Feb. 4 that he and lookalike Red Hot Chili Pepper drummer Chad Smith were actually one and the same person. Well, Chad didn’t take lightly to that — he challenged Will to a drum battle!
Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith could easily be mistaken for each other — they look that much alike. But it seems Chad has had enough of fans drawing the comparison. So after Will said that he and Chad were the same person during a Reddit Ama, Chad decided to challenge the Anchorman 2 star to a drum battle! It should be an interesting competition, but if Will’s flick Step Brothers has taught us anything, it’s that Chad should Not touch Will’s drum set!
