I've had a fascination with the Winchester Mystery House since I first learned about it when I was a kid. The thought of ghosts instructing a woman to keep building on to her house to appease the spirits of those people who were killed by the Winchester rifle is a mysterious one.
I've been to visit the Winchester Mystery House a few times up in San Jose, California and it's pretty freakin' cool! I was really excited to hear that a movie was being made inspired by these stories that I grew up with and today we have the first trailer for you to watch! It looks like it's going to be a great horror flick!
The film is called Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built and it has a fantastic cast that includes Helen Mirren, Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook and Angus Sampson. Here's the synopsis:

Oklahoma prison officials halted an inmate's execution after a new drug combination left the man writhing and clenching his teeth on the gurney. He later died of a heart attack. Clayton Lockett, 38, was declared unconscious 10 minutes after the first of three drugs in the state's new lethal injection combination was administered Tuesday evening. On Tuesday night, Oklahoma State Penitentiary inmate Clayton Lockett was scheduled for an execution that ultimately lasted over 40 minutes in which he writhed and groaned. He eventually died of a heart attack in the execution chamber after officials moved to halt the procedure.
Death Row Inmate's Execution Botched
Lockett, 38, had been on death row for raping a 19-year-old girl, shooting her and then ordering a friend to bury her alive. Books are often the source for some of the greatest film and television adaptations, but flip the scenario and it can be said that movies and TV can also be among the greatest sources for books. Behind the scenes nonfiction offers a peak behind the curtain of the dream factory. Art books often enhance a reader’s perspective of film and television. Companion books do both, expanding a reader’s attachment and understanding of the source material while giving a glimpse into the detailed world building of its creators. This past month, three books, Guillermo Del Toro: Cabinet of Curiosities, Crazy 4 Cult: Cult Movie Art 2 and The Adventure Time Encyclopedia have each improved on the visual experience of the films and shows they celebrate.
