Fans of Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim know that drifting with another Jaeger pilot is almost as challenging as taking down a colossal Kaiju. Starting with today's first issue release of Legendary's four-part comic book series, Pacific Rim: Tales From The Drift, readers will get to explore the massive monster apocalypse of del Toro's world. To give readers an idea of what to expect, we caught up with Tales From the Drift writer Joshua Fialkov and have a look at preview pages from the debut issue.
How did you get involved with Pacific Rim: Tales From The Drift and what was your approach to the story?
Joshua Fialkov: I was a big, huge fan of giant monsters—specifically of Pacific Rim. They [Legendary] had this great story by Travis [Beacham] and Guillermo [del Toro]. They wanted to find somebody who could bring it to comics and really hit on some of...

Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye # 17

Ever since Pat Lee sent the good ship Dreamwave plummeting towards the bottom of the sea to give the monsters from Pacific Rim something to read, the Transformers comics license has been held by the good folks ad Idw comics. A year and a bit ago, their main Transformers comics, then written by Mike Costa, imploded in upon itself in a black whole of overblown stories and bad or outright non-existent characterization, and in the aftermath, Idw came back with two new ongoing titles, subtitled “Robots in Disguise” and “More than Meets the Eye” respectively.
In the seventeen issues that followed the relaunch, “Mtmte” has proven itself the far superior book, due in no small part to the writing of James Roberts, whose masterful characterization and world...

One of the stars of Channel 4′s My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding has claimed that Colin Farrell will star in a new movie based on the show.
Pat Lee, who married Sam Norton on the reality TV series, has also suggested that producers cast Doctor Who actress Billie Piper to star alongside the Hollywood a-lister, but admitted that she’d have to change her hairstyle for the role.
Pat told The Sun’s Buzz magazine:
“I heard they are making Big Fat Gypsy Weddings: The Movie, and Colin Farrell is being lined up to play me.”
He added:
“Billie Piper would be good to play Sam, although she’d need a perm.”
Believe it or not, the Secret Diary of a Call Girl actress may actually be tempted.
“I met Billie on Alan Carr’s show,” says Sam “and she asked if she could have her picture taken with me!

Ricky Gervais, award-winning star of the acclaimed series "The Office" and "Extras," has garnered three Emmy Nominations for his stand-up special Ricky Gervais: Out Of England – The Stand-up Special. The nominations included Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special and Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special (Ricky Gervais).
"This is particularly special for me, as it is my first Emmy nomination for my stand-up work," says Gervais.
Ricky Gervais received an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for HBO's "Extras", which received seven other Emmy nominations. Gervais also garnered two Golden Globes, along with Stephen Merchant, as creators of the BBC comedy series "The Office" and "Extras".
In addition to a Golden Globe, "The Office" received BAFTA and Peabody Awards, among many other honours, and was subsequently seen in more than 100 countries, as well as inspiring the hit American series of the same name. "The Office" continues to be the most successful British comedy of all time.
Taped before a live audience at the WaMu Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Ricky Gervais: The Stand-up Special debuted on HBO in November 2008 and featured material from his three sold-out British stand-up tours.
Gervais has also been seen in such feature films as "For Your Consideration", both "Night at the Museum" movies and "Ghost Town". His upcoming movies include "The Invention of Lying", which he co-wrote and co-directed with Matthew Robinson and "Cemetery Junction". Gervais is the only British actor to write and star in "The Simpsons".
Gervais' other comedy ventures include a hit series of podcasts, also featuring Merchant and Karl Pilkington, which earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most downloads. The hit podcast series is now being made into an animated series for HBO.
