Remember that Robert De Niro guy, the one that impressed us in movies like Mean Streets, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas? Along with Al Pacino more recently we’ve seen them move more to comedy with somewhat mixed results. It’s fair to say that Pacino has suffered more, with De Niro and up to a point he’s been able to keep that wise guy style image intact, which probably made casting him in The Family easy.
When snitching on the Mafia it’s assumed you are signing your own death sentence, so when CIA Agent Stansfield (Tommy Lee Jones) once again has to relocate Giovanni Manzoni now known as Fred Blake...

"Let's talk about the complaints I have received..." Relativity has unleashed the first trailer for Luc Besson's The Family (what a boring title), previously Malavita, starring Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer as a mafia family relocated to France. The rest of the cast in this action comedy includes Dianna Agron & Joseph Perrino as their kids, plus Tommy Lee Jones, Ricardo Cordero and Jon Freda. This almost seems like Taken meets Red meets every other double-agent spy comedy from Hollywood in recent years, but it looks fun. I usually like everything Besson directs, even if it's more ridiculous French action. Enjoy! Here's the first official trailer for Luc Besson's The Family, originally from Yahoo: The darkly comedic action film The Family is about the Manzonis, a notorious mafia family relocated to Normandy, France under the witness protection program. While they do their best to fit in, old habits...

It kinda miscategorizes seniors, and it’s likely to be overshadowed by its flashy website, but the online original series 50 to Death is worth a watch, even for someone born post-Watergate. Creator Norm Golden and his fellow Upper West Side, New York City collaborators Joan Barber and Jon Freda have reached the age where they’re considered old by the youngins, but they don’t quite feel that way. They’re older, for sure, but not elderly. Yet for some reason society has chosen to peg age 50 with the stigma of being a ‘senior’ and with ‘old age’ (the creators actually blame the latter on the Aarp, and then softly dismiss the suggestion). How this still active, aging-but-not-nearly-immoble crowd “jousts with the 21st century” provides the premise for 50 to Death. (Please open the article to see the flash file or player.) I think that central conceit is a little off.
