The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)

Sacha is a Versatile Actor but...

I give it 6 stars. Why? I'll explain.

I became a fan of Sacha after watching Ali G and Borat. Not because he is funny but he is very intelligent and try to send important message on social issues. Every movie he has done has been informative, this one is not excused.

It has a great plot, characters, direction and environment looked like it was from that era. I enjoyed this as a movie but not really informative.

What I didnt like was how Judge character was portrayed as obnoxious. It ruined it for me. I know sitting on Judge position can make you feel like you are the king but seriously? If he behaved like that in real world he would lose his position quickly. I very highly doubt real judge was anything like that.

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020)

I am very shocked that Sacha made this movie....

After working in the industry for so long Borat has become a very well known face. First Borat was released when social media and youtube wasnt really a thing. People didnt have smartphones. Today its much more difficult to make this movie without getting recorded by fanboys or strangers. I wasn't really expecting it to be as great as first one but given current time it delivered everything that first movie had.

It could be less scripted but to be honest that would be quite impossible in a time when everyone has a smartphone. I am surprised he was able to perform this well.

I am not going to release any details but definitely worth watching.

Utopia (2020)

I watched this before I watched old british version.

I rarely watch tv shows these days due to same boring story and I was hesitating to start this one. At first I thought this was going to be kids show but I was wrong.

I have always enjoyed John Cuscack acting and he was the main reason I started watching it. He was not the reason I binge wat hed it in one day. I was hooked after first episode and I got up after finishing last episode.

This one had everything from great acting, characters, music, storytelling, suspense and twists. I thorougly enjoyed it.

I read review from people who watched british version before this and rated this low stars. I decided to give that one a try and I didnt quite enjoy it. It felt very small budget and background music was too loud so I had to turn it off after watching first episode. I am really not sure what the fuss is about.

Watch it now! You wont regret it.

Uncut Gems (2019)

Worst ending ever

I dont know what writer was thinking. Howard goes through a lot from begining till the end. There was not a single plot twist. It went from one stressful event to another. By the end I was expecting it to get better for howard which never happened. Such a disappointment due to ending.

Messiah (2020)

Great show. 9.6

This was a slow burn and I finished it in a week. Story was compelling. Messiah character was very believable and acted beautifully. I really enjoyed that it wasnt much about violence, sex like other shows in hollywood and tv. It provided a beautiful message in a way that anyone can understand if they are willing.

The Two Popes (2019)

Great performance by both actors. I was expecting a religious movie but what I saw was much more than that. It was a story of two wise men who saw life differently and became best friends in that process.

It end with an important message that people can use at this time.

Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator (2019)

8 stars for light.

I had never heard of bikram before. Information presented in this documentary was enlightening and how power can be blinding to people. I hope people wise up and don't join anymore cult. He is still going around and teaching which is rather confusing.

Some of the acting felt forced specially when they were crying on camera or were they told to cry? It would've across more authentic if people spoke from their heart instead of a script.

I give it 8 stars for shining the light and allowing more people to see through it.

Watchmen (2019)

As soon as it began I knew certain people would leave 1 star review and it filled that expecation.

I have seen watchmen movie and this show is pretty good in comparison. There is tension and same kind of storytelling which I enjoyed. Even if you haven't seen the movie you can still check it out.

I have only seen few episodes and hopefully this won't let me down and I can give it more stars by the end.

Edit: After watching eight episodes I can finally say that this is a great show! and I'm giving it more stars.

The Laundromat (I) (2019)

Another great movie on social issues that need more public attention. It was funny at times and it didn't go too far away from main subject and humor wasn't forced in any way.

What made me sad is that these movie makers have to come up with creative ways just to get attention of audience. It shouldn't be that way since these topics effect everyone! This could be a serious movie if only people weren't attracted to bells and whistle.

I was putting it off due to confusing title but I'm glad I watched it.

American Son (2019)

Wow. This was intense.

This movie was intense and I see certain kind of people were triggered by her acting. I think it was necessary for her to behave that way. Why? because she had to carry this whole movie by herself without boring the audience.

She was the representation of all the rage and anger that is inside black people towards the system that oppresses them. She represented it well. If she had acted calm this movie would be boring.

I really thought alls gonna be fine by the end of the movie but I was little surprised by how it ended.

Good flick. 7 stars.

Fractured (I) (2019)

Ray is a hero here is why

In the end you see multiple cop cars show up at the hospital means there is an organ harvesting business going on. You see that one guy screaming in his back seat with his organs missing.

Cops didn't find corpse of his wife and daughter when they visited that gas station. They never existed!

Ray was innocent and a hero.

Great movie filled with great suspense.

I was enjoying it with kids until a man showed up with but. I had turn it off at that point. Why do you do this? It had no relationship to the story.

Otherwise this was a decent movie with deeper meaning if you get it.

Benedict performance was master piece in this little documentary. Was it biased? It is upto an individual to decide. I found that it was very fair and showed both side of the arguement.

I only wish it was little longer. It felt it was little fast paced but informative and funny.

I only watched two episodes so take my review with that in mind.

I felt they tried to give it Zombieland feel but it didn't stick. Story wasn't going anywhere and it didn't make me laugh even after two episodes. There was too much gore and blood which had nothing to do with the story. It's hard to relate to characters. I liked Zombieland mainly because of funny storyline and relatable characters.

This genre has been redone many times and it's just boring at this point unless you can come up with a good story that makes sense.

Unnatural Selection (2019– )

Far fetched.

This was all about good feels and how you can be saved by some dna. Like yeah lets just all be immortal factory workers. Sounds really cool. It is very far from reality of most people and you have to be some sort of genetic scientists to even understand what is going on in this documentary. For your average joe this is going to be disappointment unless you like a placebo of feeling informed after watching a science documentary. lol. It is filled with very little details of genetic engineering which is not new. I can't say this would be a big hit on Netflix.

I liked camera movement but sound and storytelling was odd.

Living with Yourself (2019)

It's fantastic. It takes old story but adds new dimension to it and it was dark and funny. I have seen a movie with similar story but this was a new take on storytelling and how each episode starts. Season 1 only four hours long. It's definitely worth binge watching. I'm looking forward to season 2.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)

Great acting and direction but story..

Paul gave remarkable performance throughout. I didn't feel like I was watching Pinkman but it didn't really matter, it has been way too long since bb came out. Vince provided great direction but it was not in the same level as the tv show. All of that is understandable. I was hoping to see all other characters including Mr. White and Saul but they were probably busy doing other shows.

Storyline was little predictable due to the begining dialogue but overall it was enjoyable and I was just happy to see old but familiar characters. It can be watched by anyone but Breaking Bad fans will probably appreciate it more.

Jeff Dunham: Beside Himself (2019 TV Special)

Played very smart

This is what a stand up comedy should look like. You could tell that Jeff put a lot of work into it. He stayed away from politics directly but used his puppets to get his message across. It was beautifully done and I thought it was not only funny but something only few comedians do these days. Loved it.

4 stars on Imdb explains volume on what this documentary was trying to bring a light on. I thought it was handled pretty well and Chelsea used her own life example to discuss this important topic. I'm looking forward to see her future work on related topics. Silent and subtle racism is not an imaginary thing. Great documentary!

Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones (2019 TV Special)

I used to enjoy watching old chapelle but it seems after his return all he does is whine. He did similar jokes in his old flix and now they are getting boring. If you enjoy fat guy jokes you will definitely enjoy it, but it felt flat for me and it was very one dimension in many apsects from begining to the end.

After reading reviews I had hoped that this show was going to be very entertaining but..

Finished watching two seasons and they were enjoyable but nothing too mind grabbing. I continued watching hoping that I would find something that I was missing but before I knew I had finished two seasons. Similar story has been done many times in the past and this was just different mask for same old story of monsters vs humans.

Acting is good but I couldn't connect to any of those characters. May be it was meant for kids so they dumbed it down but it was still confusing for kids in some level.

The Great Hack (2019)

I'm going to step out of the politics for a moment and judge it based on what it was, a great documentary on modern election process. It was very enlightening to know what is being done in the background of a election process and how people can be manipulated by those tricks. I felt there was some paranoia in some parts but overall it was an enjoyable flick. Just watch it with an unbiased mindset and be your own judge.
