Boyhood (2014)
I really didn't want to hate this movie.
Practically no plot. It turned out to be different than what I expected it to be. I thought it would give us an idea of what Individual Human Development was really about. But really it was nothing. All you do is see all the characters grow up. That's all that really happens. Nothing interesting or anything that relates to us through adolescence. That's what I expected the movie to be about. But it was really boring. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. I was not even an hour through the movie and I just thought "There's still almost two hours to go?" that's when I decided to get up and leave. And I'm disappointed for saying this because I really didn't want this movie to turn out bad.
Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
I cannot believe people like this
I watched this about a fortnight ago and I still can't believe how bad it is. There was nothing about this movie that I would call entertaining. No, I have not read the books. But I don't care. Christian Grey practically physical abused Ana Steele. So romantic. If heloved her so much then why would he even hit her. All he does is just strip her and have sex with her. For those who tell me that you need to read the book to understand why he hits her and practically rapes her, then I guess you could say that the book is stupid. I can't even believe I sat through the whole movie because this was just so boring, stupid and way too long.
Jupiter Ascending (2015)
Not bad
I wasn't expecting much when I thought I'd give this movie a shot. It was only because I'd rather see this than Fifty Shades Of Grey. Boy am I proud. I would call it an average movie.
Plot: I'm going to admit, I slightly misunderstood the plot. From what I understood, it seemed there was a missing puzzle. I think that there was something missing in the plot. I don't know what it was but I couldn't really understand why the character "Jupiter" was something special, besides her name.
Acting: Pretty good effort. I think Mila Kunis' acting wasn't her best. Maybe action doesn't fit her movie category. Channing Tatum was good. Although, I really enjoyed the acting of Douglas Booth and Eddie Redmayne.
The movie: Great effects. Action scenes we're really enjoyable for me to watch.
Giving it a 6.5/10. I feel 6 is too harsh but 7 would be too generous.
Gone Girl (2014)
By Far One Of The Worst Movies I've Seen In My Life
An 8.4? Are you high? I always thought that there would be a good reason for a movie to last 2 and a half hours. I don't see why so many girls my age (16) were so into it. After watching Gone Girl, I felt as if I had wasted so much time in which I could've accomplished something and made myself more useful.
This movie was a waste of time. It was boring, long and totally ridiculous.
I don't see what is "feminine" about it since there are some totally disgusting scenes that I think some men couldn't bare to watch, which of course had nothing to do with the plot.
Fake rape. Was there really a need for it? Was there a need in using seduction to kill your ex? Couldn't you just kill him in his sleep? But NO! I had to be done in a sexual way to make to movie stand out more. The sex scenes were totally outrageous, disturbing and completely unrealistic. And next time you make a movie, try and reduce the amount of oral sex. No one wants to see someone implying that are having oral sex.
I don't know what else to say but this movie is just really bad. And it annoyed me because I was spending so much time desperate to see it because of the high rating, and when I did I felt like I wasted so much time obsessing over nothing. They could've chosen better actors and actresses too. I hope I never come across a movie that was this bad every again.
Sorry, but this movie was an epic fail.
The Carrie Diaries (2013)
Loved it
I just finished watching the series and it left me very curious but also very impressed. It was not a show that really needed a lot of episodes. It just felt like a very very long movie. Even though it's been taking up my time for the past 3-4 days, I must say that I would not mind watching the whole series again. It was a pretty messed up plot since Carrie was with so many guys, and so many plans were made and then destroyed with other plans. The last two or three episodes actually made me cry which I was not expecting from this show. I think that anyone who is around their mid to late teens would be suitable for this. I just think that it should be a higher rating because I certainly think that some girl who is 13/14 who is watching this would not be suitable since there is a lot of discussions about sex. Anyway, I think this show was successful and ended in a nice way. I hope that it gets renewed someday.
Knocked Up (2007)
Probably the best Seth Rogen movie.
Funny and has a good story. there are some scenes that may be hard to handle because of the vulgarity. But it is entertaining and really made me laugh quite a lot, because I must say that a lot movies that are meant to be funny do not make me laugh - AT ALL. This isn't something that you would recommend to your parents, but I guess if you're in your late teens, you will be entertained. Because if my parents sat and watched this I assume that they will only be laughing because they would find this immature. The story? Well, lots of people have related to the situation and I loved how Ben played by Rogen, actually stuck up for her. Because I know a lot of guys in reality who would not do that. Really a good movie if you're willing to have a laugh with friends. Although I would not recommend this for anyone who has not entered their mid teens.
Spring Breakers (2012)
Um.... so what is the plot?
One question about this movie - I'm not really sure that it qualifies as a movie - but what was the point of the movie and all its vulgarity? I don't think I've seen a movie with such pointless scenes. More than half of the movie were showing scenes coming out of no where with things such as close up filming of boobs and asses. I had no idea what those random scenes had to do with the story. It was just awkward and uncomforting. I'm glad I watched this by myself. But the movie is just horrible and the acting.... well don't even get me started with the acting but some of these actresses need some drama lessons. Although James Franco, I thought he did a good job. I reckon this movie would've been better if it wasn't so overdone and it didn't keep repeating gross scenes all the time. There was no character development and it was also a very boring movie.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)
One of the best movies I've seen
This movie was awesome. There was so much action and many exciting scenes. The cinema was packed, and I'm pretty sure each of those people were proud to of paid $16 dollars for what they saw.
Before I watched the movie, I wasn't expecting much even though it was rated 8.9/10. I went and saw it with my friends and we all just wanted to see it again. The quality and the affects were perfect and I would highly recommend this to anyone. It's a must see.
I would watch the first one before this, just for a better understanding.
But, I think I have a new favourite movie. Go see this!
Jack and Jill (2011)
Horrible
I really hated this movie and it left me disappointed of Adam Sandler, who is probably one of my favourite actors. This movie, it just didn't work. Jill was annoying and I couldn't bare her (or him as a girl as should say). It was just a stupid movie and I couldn't even get through the whole thing. The movie was also boring and I couldn't even believe I was watching this. Sandler can pull off acting as anything really, but he couldn't pull off being a woman. It just wasn't right. Doesn't even deserve one star unfortunately. I really hated this movie and it left me disappointed of Adam Sandler, who is probably one of my favourite actors. This movie, it just didn't work. Godzilla (2014)
Unfortunately not enough for a ten
I enjoyed this movie, but the first part spent too much time worrying about who killed a man's wife or how safe a woman's husband was. Watching the trailer, I had high expectations. Godzilla looked awesome, and I was really looking forward for a Godzilla battle when I was going to see it. The trailer was also a big liar. It hid about 90% of the movie, including the two extra dinosaurs and making it seem that it was actually about Godzilla. Unfortunately, most of this movie wasn't even about Godzilla, which I was why I don't think it deserves a high rating as it is already rated. Wasn't this movie called Godzilla? Yes, but how long was Godzilla seen in this movie? About 5% of it. You see the other random dinosaurs in it more than the main purpose of the movie. Instead of having more stories with the human association, how about making Godzilla the main point of the movie, making him the big evil enemy to people and make him the only problem. I didn't buy a ticket to see a movie called "Godzilla" to see a man's wife get killed and then seeing that most of the movie is just about that. Besides all the negatives, this movie was okay. The action was the only bearable part. The part I was looking forward to. It was the part that saved the movie and it might also be the reason I want to purchase this on DVD when released. It is expected that there will be a second one, which I am looking forward to that and also expecting some improvements, with more action and exciting scenes.
Step Up Revolution (2012)
Disappointed
I love step up so much, but this is the worst one so far. The movie starts off so good with that awesome dancing scene at the beginning and then it starts to get really boring and half the time I don't even understand what is going on in the movie. I wish that they could do something different in each Step Up movie other than just two dancers who meet and then fall in love in every movie. it just feels like the movies keep repeating itself. I could think of heaps of ideas for dancing/hip hop movies and they don't always have to have romance as half of the main story. I'm looking forward to the fifth and I know that there's going to be another romantic story in it as well. I don't understand why they can't make up another idea, too many love stories in every type of a movie will eventually just get boring.
Titanic II (2010)
This makes me laugh out loud so hard
This movie makes me sick and especially how someone actually named this movie Titanic 2. If they wanted to make a movie, there's no point copying the classic because this piece of crap could never beat any movie. After they discovered that a tsunami was going to hit the ice burg I just shut it off and I wasn't even going bother about the ending. The movie was a waste and so unprofessional. I downloaded this movie from the internet and thank goodness my internet is unlimited because I deleted it. You know what? After I had written this review I don't even want to hear about this stupid-pathetic-waste-of-time-unoriginal-crappy movie again in my life. The thought of it is just way too embarrassing. Even if I got paid 10x more than Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio did in 1997 I wouldn't give less of a s**t. I would never act in this movie. The actors must of been homeless or something. I do not recommend this at all. Keep watching the original one. Your time will be used a lot more wisely.
The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
What an amazing love story
I have watched so many romantic movies such as The Notebook, Titanic etc. and this is definitely the best one I've ever seen. The story is brilliant and makes you want it to keep on going and going. Usually when I watch movies in cinemas I would occasionally check my phone to see what the time is or check up on what's going on social media. But with this movie, I never even touched my phone. I was just couldn't keep my eyes off the screen. And yes, it's a very sad story and I suggest that you do bring some tissues because if you cry during movies a lot, you're going to be heartbroken when watching this. It doesn't matter if your a male or female or an old or young person, you'll just love this movie and it's just so different from those other love stories... you know, how 90% of love stories made today: They meet, they like each other, they kiss, break up and then back together etc. The Fault in our Stars is just perfect. They love each other for the whole movie with no major fights. I recommend this to anyone, including the male population.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Should've stopped making spiderman movies years ago
As a kid, I grew loving the spider-man movies. They were so awesome and enjoyable. Of course, seeing this movie I wasn't surprised. I was in the cinema with my friend and through the whole movie, all I wanted to know was when it was going to finish. The first Amazing Spider-man was as boring as hell and I stopped watching it at about half way not and even caring what would happen at the end. Seeing this movie, it really made me hate The Amazing Spider-man and I don't think there is a point in making them. The last Spider-man was in 2007 and it should've stayed that way. I really hate how they have to make these little extra advanced marvel characters so that they can get more money because they couldn't think of their own movie to create. If you're a big a spider-man fan, I wouldn't recommend the Amazing Spider-man, they are both boring and there is hardly any action in it.
The Notebook (2004)
I am highly amazed.
Never in my life have I seen such a creative and accurate masterpiece. The story is just heart-breaking but so creative. The acting was perfect and I love how Noah and Allie form their relationship. How they are both from different classes of wealth and not even caring. Movies like this show you what real love is. Because this movie is based on two late teens right? It was so real, unlike seeing teenagers today who date for showing off and then breaking up after like what? A week? Not even taking their love seriously and real? After watching this movie, it made me feel as if it's important to wait for your first love and that it will happen unplanned and out of the blue. This movie will be enjoyed by anyone really. Not everyone, especially the male population would enjoy movies such as this since they call romantic movies "chick flicks" but I guarantee you that they would really respect this particular movie and at least like it themselves. Give it a try boys. You'll be surprised.
Pearl Harbor (2001)
Just 3 hours of boredom
I don't see what would be excellent about this movie. It's awful. The acting is poor and there is nothing interesting about the story at all. I have the movie at home and my parents told me that I would love this movie that it's a beautiful story. I wasn't so interested in the movie and after I watched it I knew it was a mistake. I don't see the point in the movie and even though it's supposed to be historical, it showed a really boring example of history. It's just 3 hours of either pointless romance or boringly continuous action. I don't recommend this movie if you of course want to enjoy watching movies. The story also doesn't make sense. They assume that a guy's bestfriend is dead. The guy who's still alive falls in love with the dead guys love life. Then it turns out that he was still alive and then beats up his bestfriend? Makes no sense at all and I was rather disappointed.
Titanic (1997)
I was highly impressed
I have watched so many good movies. Some of the best of all time. But when I finished watching this movie I just wanted to watch it all over again. I have seriously never seen such an entertaining and good quality movie. I had watched parts of this movie a few years ago. Today I watched the whole thing for the first time in my life (I'm 15) and I cannot believe that someone could of produced a movie this good. The acting was so good I almost forgot that I was watching a movie. I cannot believe that someone had actually tried to make a second one because there is no way in hell it could beat this.
Lets also face it, Leonardo was extremely enjoyable to look at. I highly recommend this movie to anyone. It doesn't matter what type of movies you like, I'm pretty sure Titanic covers all types of movies and you simply can't beat it. This is definitely my favourite movie now and I can't wait for tomorrow to start so I can watch it all over again after school tomorrow.
Catwoman (2004)
Amazing!
Really good movie. I have absolutely no clue what everyone else is complaining about but it's a really good movie. The first bit is probably what everyone is complaining about, yes that part is extremely boring which is why I voted 8. The other reason why I chose an 8 is because you don't really get to see much of the cat woman action. Those parts really spoil it. Most of the movie isn't even about cat woman. But the action and story is very fascinating and its probably not a movie I could watch everyday but yes, it is good. The acting is fine, which is also another thing that everyone else is saying that it's completely bad. I have watched this movie about 100000 times and let me tell you, the last time I watched will not be the last time. I will watch it again eventually. Halle Berry was perfect for this movie, with the best skin colour and an amazing body and was just born to wear that cat woman outfit. I am hoping that there is someone out there eventually who will make the next cat woman because I am loving these types of movies.
Australian Rules (2002)
Good movie but seemed pointless
I am Australian myself and I enjoy movies like this because it shows our culture and everything. But I don't really see what the story has to do with the sport. It seems as if the story is based on a teenage guy who plays footy but most parts are about him getting in with Clarence and about Dumby's death.
I also don't see why there had to be such vulgar language and highly offensive racist sayings. If this movie is called Australian Rules it should focus more on the sport than the romance and sad stories. I would watch it again if I could, but the language just won't allow me to watch it.
I didn't hate the movie. It was really entertaining and the acting was really good and everything. The extremely harsh dad was a natural, the footy games and everything. I am proud of Australian movies but this one could of been better.
