Yet another Americanized version of a Japanese horror film which didn't hit the mark (they rarely do). The lead actress; Shannyn Sossamon did a good job with her character, though Edward Burns didn't show any emotion playing along side her.
The story just didn't gel or make any sense you'll still be asking the question 'why' after the film is over. To briefly sum up the plot - one by one people are being called on their mobile phones (by their future selves) shortly before they die.
Our leads have to figure out the cause and to stop it before it's too late. This is where it becomes difficult; the story doesn't give you any real reason to care what happens to the characters. It went through the motions of trying to be scary I think I really should have watched the original version first!!!
