Awesome!
20 February 2023
The characters straddle the fine line between being wholesome role models while still feeling real enough that kids will identify with them. The only bummer for kids who don't know Portuguese or Spanish is that the series isn't available dubbed in English, so the subtitle reading could turn away some potential fans. Personally I find the show to be very refreshing and Portuguese is such a beautiful language.

Parents need to know that Mila in the Multiverse is a sci-fi series where characters travel between multiple universes. There's a fair amount of scariness and violence -- the evil Operator characters are pretty foreboding, and frequently make threats on the characters' lives. While the content is great for tweens, viewers who don't know Portuguese or Spanish will need to read subtitles of the dialogue; the amount of reading may make it more suitable for slightly older kids.

It's so good!

Awesome

Ignore the haters. Some people get their kicks ragging on everything. This is one of the best shows on tv. It's an awesome spin-off from the Clone Wars. I read some reviews that say Omega is the worst part. Really? The child with perfect clone DNA that looks at the galaxy with an open eyed state of wonder? She annoys you? At first this might be how you feel, but as the show evolved so will she. We get to see her grow up! Season 1 is very good, but season 2 is just amazing. Wednesdays are my favorite day and this is the only show I look forward to watching week to week.

What does it take to make EVERY Star Wars fan happy? Nothing. It's impossible. So focus on the true fans. This show does just that.

Haters gonna hate. There's a hot seat in hell for those haters. Yep.

Beautifully fantastic!

This is unbelievably incredible. Skeletor is wickedly evil. Every second he's on screen he's being a evil diabolical villain. Voiced perfectly by Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker). Great voice acting meshes with unbelievable animation. Kevin Smith wrote and produced this series with obvious love for the source material. I can't explain all the 1 star reviews that seem to be fueled by hatred. My guess is that they are all fake. Seems like our culture is being brought down by angry opinionated critics of EVERYTHING Americans love. Is it Russian hackers lol ? Hell bent on creating strife and incite arguments. Is it TROLLS? I'm not sure but I personally LOVE this show. I ordered all the action figures. My childhood has been brought back and I'm so happy! So very happy!

Magical and emotional
6 March 2020
I came here expecting to see nothing but high praise for this amazing show. Instead I was greeted with immature hateful one star reviews. Have we as a society become this soulless? This bitter? How can anyone not love this show? The writing, the effects, the cast... it's all so perfect. I have cried in almost every episode. Patrick Stewart is playing his age here. He's fragile, sensitive and old. He knows it and the writers know it. I feel sorry for ANYONE that doesn't "get it". I also think most of these reviews are by trolls who are just here to say mean spirited comments for the purpose of inciting anger on our behalf. Tv doesn't get any better people! This is it! Truly a magical experience that respects everything we've come to love about the franchise. I'll leave you with this: Tea, earl Grey decaf hot". Decaf. That says it all.

BEST show on TV - hands down
1 November 2019
This show is not for those with a low IQ. It's an intellectuals show. Racists will hate it, bigots will despise it. As for me, I think it's phenomenal on every level. The writing is spot on and then depth is magnificent. The use of colors and cinematography is stellar. I just wish I could binge it!! Along with WARRIOR (Cinemax) this is my new favorite show.

I LOVED IT! Easily the best after the original
27 December 2018
I'm not sure what movie all these other people saw, but I watched one hell of a violent monster movie featuring alien hunters set on our execution. The jokes are few and far between and when they do come, they got their mark. It's funny at times, as was HALLOWEEN 40. It's violent as hell and adds to the intensity. Their is an autistic child in the film and he's absolutely awesome. People take things way too personal these days and instead of simply saying "I didn't like it", everyone thinks they are a critic so instead, they say "it sucked, it was silly and they ruined the franchise and the jokes are too often and fall flat, they added a stupid kid and killed this franchise". That's an opinion not fact. This is SHANE BLACK at his VERY BEST. I loved it.

One of the BEST ignore the RACISTS
21 June 2018
This is an awesome show and a loving tribute to the exploration films of the 70's, season 1 was indeed harmed by the lead villain walking out midway to Star in MOONLIGHT (he earned an OSCAR for his performance), but not enough to truly injure the show. I love the idea of a black man with indestructible skin. I do think more interactions with the "white" police would be fitting but it's not my show. I trust the creators and powers that be to take this show in the right direction and I have faith that we will see this with season 2. I will point out that as of late, it seems that the KKK and other racist groups have taken to IMBD to slam and spill racist hate on any films starring mostly black actors (i am a Texas white boy myself). Look at BLACK PANTHER for example. The comments are a lot like the ones seen here: "awful, worst superhero show ever" yeah... if you are a ignorant racist loser! If you truly love superheroes then you will LOVE this show. LUKE CAGE has a soul and so does the show.

More fun then we deserve
30 August 2017
Harley Quinn & Batman is absolutely genius. It's the iconic Bruce Tim Batman Animated series paying tribute to the Adam West TV series. If you don't think this movie is hilarious then you are no DC animated films fan. This is one of my personal favorites because of the writing and dialogue. The humor is spot on and perfectly matched to Harley's sexy yet quirky persona. The scene in the Bat Mobile with Harley in the back seat asking Batman to pull over because she has diarrhea (from eating too many hot wings) and because he refuses, she lets rip the most disgusting farts on earth, is just laugh out loud hysterical. I was rolling on the floor when Nightwing almost gags and Batman tries to focus on discipline as Harley giggles in the back seat.

If DC could squeeze some of this humor into their live action films, then they could surpass MARVEL in popularity.

I must point out that this is not for kids and I would bet my life savings that all these haters giving this movie 1 star are not just new fans but young ones.

I grew up in the Adam West Batman series so I consider this to be an amazing addition to an amazing collection.

Lighten up people... stop judging and critiquing so much and take a chill pill. Enjoy the ride, stop focusing on your expectations and put some faith into the creative people that put this together while you sat on your couch playing video games and eating pizza pockets.

Suicide Squad (2016)

A beautiful mess
5 August 2016
First off, the movie is beautiful to look at and the squad is awesome. The way they are introduced is awesome. The music is perfect. The pace is a bit off at times and the jokers scenes feel rushed and choppy. He's never on screen long enough to get immersed in his character. This feels like editing issues after the fact. Harley Quinn is awesome, and Deadshot is perfect. The movie would have been amazing if it focused on the Joker as its villain but sadly it chooses to have a CGI Saturday morning cartoon villain instead (truly the films weakest link). It's easy to see why the critics are bashing SQ. it feels forced and rushed. As if the camera is afraid to give any one character too much screen time. Killer Croc is visually great but has the worst lines to say (his one liners fall flat). Boomerang is great. That's all I'm going to say because I enjoyed the movie. It's a mess, it's kind of like making a bacon lettuce tomato sandwich and at the last minute you realize you are out of mayo. It's still great but it's missing an important ingredient and in this case, a worthy villain of such a worthy Squad. I wanted More. For the record, I carry a torch for Batman V Superman and thought the rated R version of that film was AMAZING.

Simply wonderful
31 July 2016
A truly beautiful depiction of a classic novel. Emotional and deeply tragic, this is the film version we have been waiting for. The characters are brought from the page to the screen perfectly. I will be seeking it out for purchase as this is a must own series. I fell in love with the characters almost right away and I think that you will do the same. Love, hate, fear, pain, sorrow, and plenty of goose bumps. This mini series will move you and bring you to tears more than once. "Do you think you could love me?"

"Yes, yes I do..."

I need not say any more.

Outstanding, and nearly PERFECT!
25 July 2016
This was a real treat being able to see it in the big screen. The entire experience was amazing. Before the film they showed (bonus features from the Blu-Ray) an awesome interview with Mark Hamill and he talks a bit about the history of his evolution with the JOKER. Once the film starts, the mood changes to doom and gloom and that's very important. This is not a kids movie. The subject matter is dark and Gothic. It earns its rated R rating in spades. Most of the negativity DC gets is due to this darkness. People are shallow and want everything to be copies of something they hold dear. Marvel makes fun exciting films that focus on being light and full of humor. That's a great thing, but it also gets old quick. I myself love the darkness. BVS was fantastic due to this darkness. Who says comics are just for kids? Why can't we have both? Why do one liners and jokes have to be the norm? I like my characters dark. Batman is the moon, the night, the things that go bump! He is the MIDNIGHT SUN! This is basically the JOKERS origin story written by one of the most talented men on earth. The music is amazing, the voice acting is top notch and the animation is flawless. THIS IS ANIMATION at its VERY BEST.

Arrows worst episode to date
28 April 2016
This was too painful to watch. The soapy over emotional scenes are written for experienced actors and yet Arrow continues to put its worst actors in these emotional scenes. The writing and acting in this episode were simply awful, and at times I was wondering if the writers literally have given up on ARROW. I've been a fan of shows on the CW since Smallville, and I'm use to the silly sappy over hyped romances etc... Arrow was awesome in its first season. Now? It's a pale shadow of what once was. The fight choreography looked like it was done by a 9 year old with mental problems. There is a fence climbing scene by a female character that is supposed to be a gymnast and she looks like an idiot even walking! So so bad. Arrows stunts in the alley (so studio propy it's hilarious, even a blanket to cover up space on the alley walls is used) are the worst yet and only serve to give parkour a bad name. Let's hope this was a unique episode, because a few more like this and I'm giving up. I'll stick to CW's FLASH (top 10 best shows on TV, along with GOTHEM). Enough with Felicity, enough with the bad fight choreography, enough with the wooden stoic "emo" scenes and let's get back to introducing NEW VILLAINS, because DARK sucks. Merlin has been reduced to a joke.

I could go on and... It's simply a really bad episode.

A superhero treasure
26 March 2016
Simply amazing from start to finish with some of the most complex and emotional superheroes ever brought to the screen. Batman vs. Superman is certainly one of the best superhero films ever made, and we have Zack Snyder to thank for that, but it's Ben Affleck as the Batman that truly sets the tone. His dark knight is exactly that: DARK. He's brooding and scary to an extent. He's a brutal opponent and easily the most powerful portrayal of Batman to date. As for Jessie as Lex, let's just say that hating him off the bat is inevitable, because Jessie plays him in such a manner that he gets under your skin almost instantly. Gal Gadot also makes an appearance as the new Wonderwoman and I must say, she's fantastic! Her screen time is short but her presence is forceful. As for our beloved Man of Steel, Henry continues to portray him as a hero conflicted and struggling with what it means to be "human". The emotional depth he brings Superman is impossible to ignore. I became misty eyed in more than one scene and even teared up once. This movie moved me, and hit a deep cord within my heart.

A fantastic movie

Fantastic movie
29 February 2016
An excellent first western for Scott Eastwood. He has really impressed me with this one. The story is excellent and the direction spot on. The cinema photography is gorgeous and the costume design realistic. The attention to detail is amazing. The acting is great and despite what I had heard, it is not a violent film. Especially in comparison to most revenge westerns/films made these days. I am about to order it from Amazon. I rented it via the red box and knew I had to own it about half way in. Don't be fooled by the low score. These reviews are obviously children that still suck there thumbs and Sunday school teachers with crushes on Scott Eastwood. EXCELLENT!

STAR WARS for a new generation
18 December 2015
It's beautiful to look at and the cast is awesome. The new villain Kylo Ren is fantastic and the two new leads are wonderful. The pacing is spot on, the nods and tributes to the originals are perfectly placed. I loved the movie. I do have to admit that my only issue is its lack of "soul". George Lucas IS Star Wars and separating this new franchise from him and his creative force was a huge mistake. His "presence" is greatly missed here... I was 6 years old when my parents took me to see New Hope on opening day, and I've never been the same again, so I'm not being closed minded in my opinion, I just felt like something was missing and in my opinion that someone is George Lucas.

The generation of film gosers will hopefully feel differently, and I have high hopes that the next director will at least attempt to capture the spirit that is Star Wars. I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

Kylo Ren!!! (My favorite new character).

Excellent and refreshing
26 November 2015
Every bit as good as DAREDEVIL. Comic Book TV done right! Finally we get a human "female" with gifts! I watched the entire season in two nights!! MARVEL has finally entered into television with Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Top notch abut viewing at its very very best. Some people are hard to please but ignore them, because they are usually bitter folks or simply kids with computers dumping their mediocre uneducated opinions on the net (because the can). They have no basis or context to write such negative reviews. Anyone bad mouthing this show is a true fool, a fool because any real superhero fan would be estatic at the chance to watch this amazing new show!!

Perfect - skillfully directed and acted - Gothic as Hell
23 September 2014
absolutely perfect in every way... Superb script, excellent casting and wonderful Gothic sets... This will end up being the best TV superhero show of all time. Bruno Heller does it again with a perfect TV series.

Ignore the 7 year olds voicing their pubescent outrage at the lack of "Batman", this is no child's show... It's violent and brutally honest in its story telling. In this episode we meet the young Catwoman, penguin, Riddler and poison ivy to name a few. Jada is amazing and almost steels the show, but Ben McKenzie has too much charisma and screen presence to allow that to happen... Donal Logue keeps the show grounded with his human portrayal of a beat down and tired old school detective saddled with a noob.

In time this will be the best show on TV. Ignore the imputant naysayers and jump on board for the ride of your life. It's an emotional roller coaster that tugs on your heart strings.

Monday nights are officially GOTHAM nights!

Godzilla (2014)

The KING of the MONSTERS
17 May 2014
I am a 45 year old Godzilla fan. I grew up on those classic films, and devoured them like Godzilla devours radiation. I'm very forgiving on all things related to Godzilla, and I even refrained from bashing the inept US remake from 1998. It's best forgotten...

Godzilla 2014 on the other hand will not be so easy to forget. That's because it is AMAZING. No movie can stack up against a fans dreams and desires, but Gareth's Edwards and his team come very close.

Sure: Bryan Cranston over acts his wig off, the female characters seem a bit weak, the new monsters are just that: new, and the King remains in the dusty shadows until the end and OK, the monster battle scenes could have had more "contact" and grit to them but..,

Who cares about all that! THIS IS GODZILLA!

Don't listen to the negative opinions. Especially from those claiming to be "hard core fans". A true fan would be worried about only one thing: money. The movie must make money, lots of money. Why? SO THEY OPT TO MAKE MORE!!

The good news? It did just that: Godzilla ruled the box office on Friday May 16th with a stunning $38.5m take.

The KING of the MONSTERS is back, and with him, let's hope that MONSTER movies are back as well.

A+ for effort and scope A- for execution of scenes A+ for GODZILLA himself

Godzilla fans unite and be happy!

Dracula is PERFECT
26 October 2013
Yes! I am a huge "monster" fan. I grew up on universal studios horror films and Godzilla movies. I collected monster toys and dressed up like Michael Myers for Halloween. Dracula has as of late taken a back seat to expendable zombies and happy vampires.

The look and feel is classy. It feels like: The Great Gatsby movie meets Hannibal the TV show. Dracula is INCREDIBLE! I'm blown away. Totally Perfect execution. This is as good as TV gets. Awesome production, classy feel, spot on acting. Respectful to the source, with a superhero twist. This is not True Blood or Twilight.THIS is Dracula! Dracula is no nice guy. He feeds on whoever he wants whenever he wants. Usually young beautiful virgin girls. If you belittle or disrespect him, he visits you later that night and rips you to shreds. He's also a master swordsman. His power and strength is treated by the writers with great respect.

JRM is the perfect Dracula. He plays him like Leo's Gatsby. AWESOME!!!!

Art House PERFECTION - fresh and creative
20 June 2013
I was lucky enough to see ONLY GOD FORGIVES last night at the US premiere here in Austin Texas at the Alamo Draft House. Director Nicolas Winding Refn and score creator Cliff Martinez attended the showing and stayed afterwards for a question session. The experience was amazing.

Now for my opinion on the movie. A movie that people/critics walked out on at Cannes.

ONLY GOD FORGIVES is a beautiful journey into hell. Like Dante's Inferno, it takes us spiraling down into the darkest depths. The use of red lights accompanied by Cliff Martinez's hypnotic score, transports us to a world that may only exist in the darkest corners of our mind. A world of jealousy, resentment and pornographic violence. A world that seems to have several devils in it, surrounded by demons. This world exists only to serve a smothering sexual predator of a mother and her two uniquely different but disturbed boys.

This is a sensory overload film and very "lynchian". I was reminded of David Lynch in that its the silence that commands all the power.

Ryan Gosling is perfectly cast as the films only conscience. Conflicted and lost, his soul drifts through the film like a ghost.

Kristin Scott Thomas is almost unrecognizable as the wicked mother. She is depraved and easily the main "Devil" of the story. Her performance is outstanding.

Vithaya Pansringarm (the angel of death) is numbingly awesome as the films only sane (but brutal) character. His quiet strength and stoic manner would have stole the film if he wasn't surrounded by Ryan and Kristen. He is amazing and exudes charisma.

The Cinematography by Larry Smith is creepy and exactly what the film needs to pull you in.

Cliff Martinez yet again, creates a score that is as much a character in the film as any of its actors.

Visually, this is one of my favorite films of all time.

This is not a mainstream movie. It is not for the faint at heart. This is art house cinema at its best. Your average 2 second TV commercial has more dialogue.

So what's it about? I prefer to let the master, David Lynch answer that:

"It makes me uncomfortable to talk about meanings and things. It's better not to know so much about what things mean. Because the meaning, it's a very personal thing, and the meaning for me is different than the meaning for somebody else." - David Lynch

That's art for you...

I must add one last note to all the brain dead pop culture people that gave this film a poor rating and said that it was boring: I feel sorry for you... Because your so caught up in your bubblegum culture that you can't even enjoy true art when you see it. You need everything spelled out for you. These are also the types that "talk" and "text" during the movie. Abstract art is obviously beyond such closed minded people's grasp. It's these types of people and that type of mentality that led to Mozart dying in poverty and buried in an unmarked grave.

My highest rating of FIVE STARS.

Not easy to stomach but a must see
11 July 2012
One of my favorite directors does it again... He creates an emotional roller-coaster that leaves you in shambles when it's over. Beautifully horrific.

I want to point out a very interesting thing and the reason I'm writing these comments. I just read Roger Eberts review and I must say that it offended me. Mr. Ebert used to be the the very best at what he did. The one to go to for determining if you did or didn't want to see a movie. I respected his opinions. Yet... Recently, he's lost it. Yes he's been through a lot with his current health and I wish him all the best with this. Regardless, his perception of film has obviously slipped away. Firstly, for this film he missed the fact that Christian Bales character is NOT a priest. He is a MORTICIAN. This is IMPORTANT! A mortician and a man of god are two totally different things and this is critical in understanding the path his character takes (spiritually). He also mentions over and over that a "westerner" is wasted on the story and that a Chinese priest would have been more appropriate. DID HE WATCH THE MOVIE??? It's the fact that he's a westerner that keeps the Japanese from killing him in the very beginning! If he were Chinese, he would be the ENEMY! Just like the previous priest.

I'm done preaching from my soap box. Forgive me, but when critics are hard on movies and miss the boat, it frustrates me.

This is a truly disturbing film and at the same time, it's beautiful. Give it a chance, and trust the storyteller. Your in good hands.

Prometheus (I) (2012)

Perfection from a Master Film Maker
8 June 2012
Im amazed on a regular basis by how vocal the "Haters" are these days. Life's rejects have found a voice in computers and the Internet. Thus, they feel powerful when they get to rip apart movies such as PROMETHEUS. Despite the poor reception many of the tiny voices are offering here, I wish to stand on a mountain top to proclaim my absolute LOVE for this film. I expected everything and walked away with so much more. I was just a boy when the first Alien came out, yet I remember it like it was yesterday. I received the large Alien toy for Christmas. It's been a long time... And well worth the wait. Prometheus is the thinking mans/woman's science fiction film. With each door that closes, 3 new ones open up. I was in awe of the majestic beauty of this film. The utter awesomeness that unfolds. I was transported to another universe and the worst part of all of it is that it eventually ends. It's magic the way it's plot opens like the blooming of a flower, or the unfolding of the flaps on an alien egg. Does it satisfy? Does it answer all our questions? Do we see aliens? Does it do the series justice? I think so... But that's for you to decide. You can either have a small voice and complain and be bitter or you can sit back and enjoy the art and majesty that is PROMETHEUS.

All-Star Superman (2011 Video)

SUPERMAN animation at its BEST
9 May 2012
This is not like any other DC animated movie you will ever see... I say this because it packs an emotional punch equal to that of The Japanese master, Miyazaki. It's jam Packed with great action sequences and other mind blowing story arcs, but it's also got a soul. Rare in a comic book movie. Lex is awesome, as is Lois... But as with any story that involves SUPERMAN, we the viewer must "feel" emotionally attached to The Man of Steel for it to work. Your either going to "feel" or your not. If your lucky like I was, you will get it. You will empathize with Superman right away. No other superhero has the ability to make grown men cry. I expect to shed a few tears in the Dark Knight Rises, but not the kind of tears SMALLVILLE conjured. Superman is special, and you either get it or you don't. If your a fan... You will love this animated feature.

Real men love Superman.

Death Proof (2007)

Critic Proof Perfection
9 May 2012
I am shocked by all the negative reviews Death Proof has gotten here on the IMDb. I say this because we live in an age of "no attention span" and "brainless" film goers that consider reality TV to be the future. I'm actually offended by the one star reviews. Offended because, it's obvious these people are simply being mean spirited. Hateful. Shame on you!! - one star?? I suppose these folks are 1 of 2 things: 1) wanna be artsy fartsy film buffs 2) the types that have a new favorite movie each week. Either way, I'm ashamed to be human when I read their immature irrational takes on this MASTER STROKE of CAR FILMS.

Death Proof is one of my favorite films of all time. It's a respectful tribute to the car chase films of the 70's, and a revenge flick (among other things). I'm not going to sit here and write a detailed review, only because along with the (1) scores we have a few (10's) as well and the writing for these (10's) is spot on. I can't add to that. I only want to point out how angry I am at those that took the time out to write the cruel and totally off base reviews. Death Proof is the work of a Wizard. A movie fans love child. Thank You QT!
