I don't review much as i'm too lazy. I mostly rate surprises. This film surprised me because of its low score. Jeremy Irons and the cast did a great job. Had me laughing and enjoying the film from start to finish. This film deserves a much higher score. I'm an imdb member over 10 years with less than 10 reviews so this is a 100% genuine review. I, Tonya (2017)

I really enjoyed watching this movie. The way it was made was unusual and effective. Robbie who played Tonya and whoever played the fat bodyguard were brilliant. The movie is very funny in places. I know very little about how accurate the film is, but it certainly entertained me for 2 hours or whatever....

I had no idea what to expect from this movie. I checked imdb score 5 mins in as it looked good. I presumed it would be brutal then but it wasn't at all. Super acting from everyone. Some super weird characters in the film. I really liked the music too. I can't understand the overall poor imdb rating. Give it a shot if you like very weird films.

It was 11pm last Thursday night and i'm up for work at 7.30am Friday morning. I put on the 1st episode of the Jinx before sleep because i'm thinking it might be good as it was recommended to me by a reliable source who's never let me down before and is very very selective about recommending anything. 5 hours later i finish watching the lot and am amazed at this story. I won't explain what the story is about just in case it ruins it for anyone and also because i'm too lazy. I will say it is fabulous television and a must see for everyone. It should appeal to pretty much everyone. Give this a shot, it's brilliant!!!!!! Huge well done to everyone involved with the making of this documentary. And a huge thanks. Just wish i could watch it fresh again........

The Babadook (2014)

Impressive

Watched this film with my two kids Friday night. Well to say the film had a lasting effect on the kids is an under statement. They couldn't take their little eyes off the film yet were scared out of their skin. I'm not sure either of them have slept since and today is Monday. All they've done since is ask is the babadook real. I tell them he not real but kids seem to believe everything you tell them bar the truth. I loved the film too. Its quite an original film and abit trippy too as someone else said. No gore or bad language but very effective in getting a few scares and making the babadook believable. I had a look under my own bed later that night :-) The acting in the film was Oscar standard. The mother looked like she hadn't slept in 6 months(my kids soon) and the son(noah) was absolutely brilliant. I really enjoyed the film and I know my kids will remember it for a long long time to come..... Huge congratulations to all involved with the film.

Just finished watching this movie. I didn't think I would like this film at all and almost turned it off right at the start because I read its similar to the blair witch project and paranormal activity. I watched this late at night on my own in the dark so conditions for viewing this type of film were pretty good.

The film didn't disappoint. It's very intense, fast moving and quite scary. This film was the exact opposite to what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be a waste of 90 mins like 80% of horror films. I couldn't fault anything about the movie. Very impressive work by Yung and whoever else was involved. Acting all round was top notch. Well, give it a shot. I doubt many will be disappointed.

Story seems wide of the mark

Is a good film if it was about the real facts but doesn't look like a lot of research was done by whoever wrote this film. Paradise lost seems to be much more detailed and accurate. The film focuses on Terry Hobbs a lot. From the small bit of research I've done about the case, he seems to be the most unlikely killer. Todd Moore seems to be the most sensible of the bunch involved in the case and if he says Mark Byer didn't do it, hes more than likely right. That leaves the ice cream boy. Seems abit far fetched he did it either. That pretty much leaves the three lads sent away for it. They seem to be pretty guilty from what I've read. I could well be wrong though. Could also be mystery lad in bojangles restaurant afterwards. That twist does seem abit made up though. Why would any man who just killed 3 kids walk into a restaurant and clean his hands and leave. OCD maybe!!! A very interesting and sad case. Hope they all find out the truth for sure someday.

ParaNorman (2012)

stunning cool film!!!

went to see this film earlier today. 2d version with my kids, girl 7, boy 5. i loved it. loads of funny adult humour which flies over the kids heads. very unique cartoon in a very good way. i normally sleep through kids films but this one kept me awake. the fact its not CGI is a huge plus. film had a more realistic feel to it because of this. visually film is excellent so congrats to whoever was involved with that side of things. two kids never opened their mouths from start to finish bar laughing and milling 4euro bars of chocolate. normally they ask me when is the film over or i'm bored etc etc. had a feeling they were as impressed as me which they both confirmed at the end of the film. all in all, 3 of us went home very happy. regarding bringing young kids to it, don't worry at all in my opinion. Was loads of kids in the cinema and i didn't see anyone leave early or cry or appear frightened. thanks all involved with with the film. probably my favourite kiddie trip to the cinema!!!!!!!!!

Watched this film earlier today. Enjoyed it from start to finish. Found it very funny. Acting all round was very good. Mila looked great as always. Film flew by. Laughed out loud a few times which i haven't done in quite awhile. Couldn't really fault the film at all. Nice running time of approx. 100 mins. Kind of hard to fill up lines here. New paragraph should help.

Fair play to Seth etc. Best comedy i've seen in awhile. Should appeal to a pretty wide audience. Film called killer joe out now too. Heard thats good. Well, thats my ten lines of pretty much very little information. Adios amigos..........

John Carter (2012)

disappointed

Watched this last night. Well, 30 minutes of it. All i could take. Was expecting a lot more.

Maybe im missing something or just didn't give it enough time or put it on too early in the evening.

Story seemed OK. John Carters character seemed OK. Special fx seemed pretty bad to me though. Just seemed like a cartoon in high definition. Couldn't take the film serious because of this. Aliens or monsters or whatever they were just looked like unimaginative odd smurfs to me. Hope other people get more from the film than i did. Most obviously did as mostly good reviews elsewhere.

OK, been awhile since i seen this film but memories of the film still remain with me. I like odd films so keep that in mind in respect of my high mark. I sometimes find reality abit questionable myself so this film was right up my street. I found the film mostly easy enough to understand compared to some of David lynch's other works so that was a big plus. I enjoyed mulholland drive for obvious reasons but hadnt much of a clue what it was about. The film moves along at a nice pace. The devil character is worth watching the film for alone. Acting is superb all round. Film leaves a lasting effect on the audience. In a good way. Really enjoyed it and hope anyone who watches it does too. Well, thats my little piece. Give it a shot, not everyone will like it but hope a few of you do....

OK, film is an 8 out of ten but giving it a 9 as i feel film deserves a better overall score. Not fair i know, sorry. Seen the original a long time ago. Don't like remakes as they are mostly the exact same except not as good. This however is much better than the original. I do like films with ghosts(sixth sense,the others,stir of echoes,lake mungo) so this film is right up my street. Seen a ghost many years ago with a friend of mine(5pm totally sober). She described the ghost to me before i could speak as i was frozen to the spot hence my love of this genre of film. Anyway, i really enjoyed this. Was v pleasantly surprised and hope many more people enjoy it too. Would be amazed if anyone finds this film a waste of time. V well acted. Nice pace and a few scares along the way. ps if you like this, watch lake mungo. Over and out...

Watched this last night not knowing what to expect due to very mixed reviews. I didn't like pineapple express but i think danny mcbride is hilarious so again puzzled with what lay ahead. I ended up enjoying the film. My mark 8 out of 10. Monsters are very funny, film is fairly original, acting impressive etc etc. Film characters are very likable, even the evil ones. Looks like abit of money was put into making the film too. Good special effects. So, i recommend go watch it. Mcbride is a legend, hope you reading this Danny. Cant wait for season 3 of eastbound and down. Any fans of this film would probably like this show too. Anyway, keep up the good work whoever was involved in the film. Over and out...........

just watched this film tonight and joined IMDb subsequently due to how impressed i was. got home from work late and turned the lights off and put the horror on. film flew by from start to finish. i watch a lot of horrors and think about eighty percent are rubbish, however this was very engrossing. acting all round was excellent(didn't expect that) and story was kind of believable which is odd for this type of film. very intelligently made film. everything made sense from start to finish. short sweet and to the point film. no messing about. i don't like drawn out two hour plus films. no comedy in the film which i like. if i want to watch a comedy, i pick a comedy. not the best film i seen in my life but for what it is, very impressive. well, I'm kind of to the point myself so hope anyone who watches it enjoys it. doubt anyone could dislike it. and congratulations to anyone involved in the film and hope there's bigger projects in the pipeline.
