an incredible tale of redemption...
6 April 2004
The Fisher King is an incredible tale of redemption-the story of Jack Lucas,an arrogant radio personality(Jeff Bridges)whose off-hand remarks spark a tragedy that ends his career.Years later, and on the brink of suicide,Jack is saved by Parry(Robin Williams),a delusional homeless man who lives in a world of red knights and damsels in distress. When Jack realizes that Parry's "condition" is a direct result of the aforementioned tragedy,Jack sets out to save Parry, and perhaps, even himself.Although this movie does tend to drag along, the performances by Bidges,Williams, and supporting cast Amanda Plummer,Mercedes Rhuel, and the late Michael Jenkins are stellar. The direction and screenplay are top-notch.You cannot make a movie better than this one is made.(a little long and a bit of a timepiece, but excellent in every category)

Another Grade B (as in Band,Charles)Horror Flick
22 February 2002
I am a horror movie addict,so I will always spend $4.00 to rent a slice of "horror-cheese",especially something from FULL MOON entertainment. The movies produced by Charles Band (including DollMan & Toxic Avenger) are sure to be bad and sure to make you laugh (at it!).This movie was sooo bad it made me feel sorry for Latex. What happened to the good F/X artists? This movie showcased Raman Noodle. The editing was "Blair Witch" like...it was obvious the director tried too hard to do something so 2 years ago.Of course the acting is among the worst attempts in film history. This movie had 3 decent reasons to get produced- 1)the "reality TV" idea 2)the key in the closet 3)the fact that NO idea gets turned down by anyone submitting a script to Charles Band/FULL MOON entertainment

I'm gonna start on my script now,see you in the midnight features!

a masterpiece of filmmaking...
15 February 2002
Perhaps the greatest movie ever based on a true story.Set in black and white to capture every aspect of it's cinematography, director David Lynch makes you feel for this man to the point of tears with a beautifully simple soundtrack, incredible performances from Anthony Hopkins as the doctor and John Hurt as John Merrick(the elephant man),and the direction of David Lynch. If you had a ballot for "Best Director"in a movie that ever existed,Lynch would be on the ballot for this movie.

worst movie I've ever seen!
14 February 2002
When it comes to bad movies,I thought the hi-jinks of Blair Witch or the continuous comebacks of Michael Meyers and Jason Voorhees would garnish the prestigious title of "WORST MOVIE EVER",but let me explain why Crocodile takes the cake.First and foremost, the expectations I had of Tobe Hooper.Even Texas Chainsaw 2 has it's moments, but nowhere in this movie does it make sense.I mean, the croc egg is in her backpack and the croc wants the egg.Granted, she doesn't know the egg is in her backpack, but jumping in a lake with that thing on her back and a croc on her tail? She never opens the backpack so why the hell carry it(are your schoolbooks in it?)The editing was as bad as the script which was as bad as the acting which was as bad as this director is! P.S.-I'll never be able to watch Poltergeist the same again! My vote- 0

greatest horror/comedy ever!
14 February 2002
20 years ahead of it's time,Student Bodies took advantage of the fact that no horror movie lost money at the box office in 1980,and made a parody of "slasher films" in the process, the outright best of it's kind.Unlike recent "slasher parodies",these characters have no annoying subplots. You have sex,you die.The dialog is uproarously hilarious, the "rated R" warning in the middle of the film is revolutionary, the body count should be in every horror movie, and the Breather's "who could I be?" intermission of the film is so classic,it's above "cult" status!Mikey Rose(director)is a surname for Michael Ritchie(The Bad News Bears,Fletch,The Golden Child). This is the "Kentucky Fried" of it's kind, and belongs among some Mel Brooks parodies.(it's that funny) Vote-9

Origin of reality t.v.
14 May 2001
We all know fads have a starting point.Look at everything that's "retro" now.Well,I'm pretty sure after the monstrous sucess of this "5-didgit budget" movie, the reality shows that now flood our airwaves first came into existence.Hey,you wanna make a buck off these poor flogs?Man,I was suckered! (for about 6 hours) BLAIR WITCH PROJECT-the #1 "INTRODUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE A BUCK IN THE 21st CENTURY" project.(RATING: 1 )

The GREATEST PREQUEL never understood...
14 May 2001
After a much-hurried end to the greatest television show of our time, David Lynch re-captures the magic and mystery and weirdness of the beloved town of Twin Peaks with Fire Walk With Me.Although widely misunderstood,Lynch's dream world of Twin Peaks is still crystal clear to it's loyal fans who will not rest until another movie can reveal the secrets left untold in the original series.(and a prequel to Fire Walk With Me wouldn't be bad, either!)Some may come to believe other prequels(in a galaxy far, far, away)are superior, but I believe that, right here on earth,in your own home town, lies the never-dying spirits that keep Twin Peaks alive and TWIN PEAKS-FIRE WALK WITH ME... The GREATEST PREQUEL Of ALL TIME!!!!!!!

Split my gut as Ash spills theirs!!!!
14 May 2001
Never,in cinematic history, has a film with so much gore and so much splatter been so entertaining and hilarious! And although their are somes folks who laugh at violence for their own morbid reasons (and those, like me,who love a good Grade-B horror flick to wallup at) few can argue that Ash is,without a doubt, the #1 chainsaw-weilding, adrenaline-charged,un-luckiest hero the horror genre has ever seen!!! EVIL DEAD 2-the GREATEST COMEDY-HORROR of ALL TIME(S)!!!!!!

The undesputed scariest movie of all time!Even if the religious implications don't scare the "Hell" out of you,the special effects and incredible sound tracks will invade your mind and never leave! I mean,we've all had a relative flip out before, but Come On!!!! We've all heard of one-hit wonders, but Linda Blair gets my vote for that one-time glance that you NEVER forget(from the front AND back!) The EXORCIST- the scariest movie of ALL TIME!!!!!!!!
