Exclusive: 7Equis, the creative team behind the comedy podcast Bad Friends with Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino, is launching its newest comedy series Almost Alpha with rising comics and long-time friends Taylor Williamson and Joey Bragg.
Almost Alpha is a comedy podcast hosted by two best buddies—and a 4.6-pound chihuahua named Betty, who keeps the guys grounded with her female pawspective as they discuss the most beta things in a totally alpha way.
“We are so excited to make people laugh and smile with us and help them forget about their worries in these crazy times for an hour every week… And to make them feel terrible for not being as alpha as we are!” Williamson shared in a statement.
“Woof” added Betty emphatically in a rare statement to the press.
“I wholeheartedly believe that what the world needs right now is love, patience and a hard reset. But...

In February 2023, Netflix will remove a bunch of movie and TV series from its library,
Netflix UK and Netflix US takes down numerous titles each month without fanfare, meaning that many things on your watchlist could suddenly disappear.
These removals are due to licencing deals coming to an end. Often, the titles make their way back to Netflix in the following year, but sometimes they leave to go to other platforms.
This month sees a selection of Netflix Originals being taken down, also.
To minimise surprise, we have put together a comprehensive list of everything being removed in both Netflix UK and US.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has released a “transparency report” for the recently concluded 46th Daytime Emmys, revealing five separate judging irregularities and four nomination challenges — and how they handled each dispute.
According to NATAS, this reps the first transparency report to be published by the org — or any similar major awards entity, to the best of its knowledge. The report comes a year after a Daytime Emmys awards debacle rocked the organization and led to a threatened boycott by TV’s major daytime soap operas.
NATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp first joined the org last year in the midst of that scandal, which came after Patrika Darbo’s 2018 win in the digital daytime drama guest star category was revoked over a submission snafu. NATAS then found errors in a back-up winner’s submission, and opted not to award anyone in the category.

With just one week to go before the Oscars inundate Hollywood with the final event of this year’s awards season, one last guild had some awards of its own to give out. It’s safe to say that no one does it quite like the Writers Guild, which traditionally holds not one, but two awards ceremonies, with both New York and Los Angeles playing home to evening events that unfold simultaneously. On Sunday evening, the NYC crowd hit the Edison Ballroom for a Roy Wood, Jr.-hosted show, while the Angeleno arm was back at the Beverly Hilton, hosted by Chelsea Peretti.
Despite missing out on an Oscar nod, it was Bo Burnham’s feature directorial debut, “Eighth Grade,” which walked away with the win for Best Original Screenplay, while Best Adapted Screenplay honors went to “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” written by Nicole Holofcener and Jeff Whitty.
