“Darkness rises, and light to meet it,” warns evil supreme leader Snoke (Andy Serkis). It’s a fitting summary of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
When Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) says, “This is not going to go the way you think,” believe him. There is a sequence in The Last Jedi that is so jaw-droppingly satisfying, fans will forever remember the moment they first saw it. There are also well-placed moments of levity that offer laugh-out-loud relief from all the casualties of the long-standing war, like Chewbacca’s chance encounter with the film’s most adorable and cuddly new creatures,...

When Disney bought the entire Star Wars franchise from Lucasfilm for all the money in the galaxy, the deal forced a reckoning: Over 40 years, George Lucas garnered a massive and rabid fanbase for his singular vision of old-fashioned matinees refashioned for a galaxy far, far away — but it also remained tethered to his whims. (Knock those dopey prequels all you want, but they were the movies Lucas wanted to make.)
Millions of fans clamored for satisfaction after the first trilogy, but what they faced was an unwieldy assemblage of Star Wars media in a constant state of identity crisis. There was Jar Jar Binks; there was Hayden Christensen as a young Darth Vader; there were plans to re-release “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge of the Sith” in 3D.
The first post-acquisition movie, J.J. Abrams'” The Force Awakens,” took some stabs at creating a more vital and singular vision,...

One of the best pictures to come out of Hollywood in the late 1960s, Sydney Pollack’s screen version of Horace McCoy’s hardboiled novel is a harrowing experience guaranteed to elicit extreme responses. Jane Fonda performs (!) at the top of an ensemble of stars suffering in a Depression-Era circle of Hell – it’s an Annihilating Drama with a high polish. And this CineSavant review ends with a fact-bomb that ought to start Barbara Steele fans off on a new vault search.

Horror tends to disturb us much more when it taps into our own personal demons… The Lighthouse is a film based on a true story, the Smalls Island Incident of 1801, showing how our own demons can actually be the scariest of them all!
Thomas Howell (Michael Jibson) and Thomas Griffiths (Mark Lewis Jones) are posted at the Smalls Island Lighthouse, with the job of ‘keeping the light’ to protect sailors from the islands rock. The temperamental nature of the weather on the Irish Sea leads to the two becoming stranded 25 miles from land in the Lighthouse and as their supplies start to run out, their grip on reality begins to fail.
While based on a true story,...

A new indie horror film is in development. The film is titled Death Ward 13. Inspired by Don't Look in the Basement (1973) and Edgar Allen Poe's short story "The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether" (1845), this title is being developed by director Todd Nunes (All Through the House) and writer Tara Knight. Filming will take place in Los Angeles, in the Winter of 2016. And now, a movie poster is available for the film. The film's story deals with Stephen's Sanitarium. This facility is slated to close. Four nursing students are helping with the transition. But, the lunatics are running the asylum. Under attack, the nurses quickly learn who is in charge - the criminally insane! Bone Crusher Films will produce this horror outing. This will be the first production for this studio. And, more details will be posted on Death Ward 13, once they are released. Release Date: 2017. Director: Todd Nunes.

We've seen a few trailers and a bunch of TV spots for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but today we bring you the first film clip. It's a brief, exciting clip that features some explosive footage of Finn, Rey, and Bb-8 trying escape a squadron of First Order Tie Fighters. Things really aren't going well for them.
Under the clip, you will find a list of story points for the film that come from a "Look and Find" kids book that leaked on Imgur. The information does contain Spoilers, so read that information at your own risk. However, this clip doesn't spoil anything!
If you've seen the previously released footage, then you know that this scene eventually leads them to the Millennium Falcon, which Rey pilots.
Here's some interesting information from the book that was found via Making Star Wars. Again... these do contain Spoilers!

Outtakes and bloopers from X-Men: Apocalypse? Step this way...
Ahead of the incoming disc release of X-Men: Apocalypse, we've now got our paws on the blooper and gag reel for the movie, that's included on the Blu-ray. And you can take a look at it right here...
X-Men: Apocalypse deleted scene
With the film heading to DVD and Blu-ray next month, a clip has been release that show’s an extended version of the shopping mall scene. And it's really rather good. This one features Nightcrawler, Jubilee (who was all but cut out of the cinema version of the film), Cyclops and Jean Grey, and it can’t just be us that thinks this is a sequence that would have been better left in the film.
Take a mooch and see what you think…
X-Men: Apocalypse sequel
