Lilly Singh will join the upcoming second season of Hulu’s comedy series “Dollface,” Variety has confirmed.

This week the Ali Abbas Zafar-written and directed film, “Sultan,” made its way to U.S. cinemas. Starring one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Salman Khan, the film is a classic underdog tale about a gold medal wrestler who tries to make a comeback when all odds are against him.
The film starts off with Sultan as an aspiring athlete who falls in love with the beautiful Aarfa (Anushka Sharma), who happens to be a wrestler herself. Unfortunately for Sultan, Aarfa won’t consider marrying him until he shows some direction in life. So, he strives to prove himself to her by making his dreams come true.

At one point while doing interviews for the Indian release of the Bollywood film “Sultan,” its lead actor, Salman Khan, compared the exhaustion of his physical training to a raped woman. He was skewered by the media and the public for about half a minute. That’s about average for Khan: This is the man who, last May, was finally convicted of his 2002 hit and run of a homeless man, only to be let out on a $500 bail two days later so that he could resume filming. Thanks to a 25-year career featuring some of the biggest hits in Hindi cinema history — including “Maine Pyar Kiya,” and “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun” — he now pulls in a steady $40 million paycheck for his gigs along with a continent-spanning following that surpasses most American stars.

Actor Salman Khan celebrates his 49th birthday today. Ever since the flamboyant ‘bad boy’ of Hindi Cinema made his debut in 1988 with the film Biwi Ho To Aisi, he has always maintained a good balance between his work as a entertainer and his work as a humanitarian.
Khan is one of the biggest stars in the Hindi film industry. After his debut he impressed with his roles in films like Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Saajan, Karan Arjun, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Phir Milenge, Tere Naam and Khamoshi. While he had a loverboy image in the nineties, he completely transformed into an action hero in recent years.
Trendsetter
Khan increasingly appeared as the larger-than-life hero who single-handedly saved the world from all political games, while he beats up an army of bad guys on his own.

Canada has a wealth of cinematic talent, and always has. From our comedic genius to our often cerebral approach to filmmaking, this country has a lot to be proud of.
Of late, and especially this year, Canada has really dominated the movies landscape. Our homegrown actors (Sarah Gadon, for example) and directors (Xavier Dolan, "Mommy") have been everywhere, earning accolades around the world. Movies shot within our borders have won rave reviews and received praise from the highest-ranked critics and film festivals.
Perhaps most outstanding is our growth. No longer are we satisfied with melancholic snow landscapes (though sometimes those still appear); we've branched out, and we're trying new things. Here, in no particular order, are my favourite Canadian movies and moments of 2014.

Canadian actor Vinay Virmani is once again bringing a unique tale to the big screen with the heartwarming comedy Dr Cabbie. The film tells the tale about a young Indian doctor who immigrates to Canada and faces roadblocks in his efforts to heal others in the land of opportunity, but discovers his true purpose and true love along the way.
Not only is it Salman Khan’s first international production for his Being Human Films, the film is unique because it is a Canadian/Indian production that features actors from Canada, India and the Us. Directed by Jean-Francois Poulliot, the comedy stars Vinay Virmani, Kunal Nayyar of The Big Bang Theory, Lilette Dubey, Adrianne Palicki, Mircea Monroe, Rizwan Manji, Chris Diamantopoulos and Isabelle Kaif.

Final Update, Monday, 2:12 Pm: The fall season is off to a good start, thanks to Fox’s The Maze Runner which opened nicely to $32.5M for the three-day weekend. The next installment of the film, The Maze Runner 2: Scorch Trials, is already set to bow September 18, 2015. While Fox has created another franchise for the industry, Liam Neeson and Universal weren’t so lucky with A Walk Among The Tombstones. The picture didn’t appeal to the female audience — that same demo which helped Non-Stop open to $28.8M earlier this year for the actor. Tombstones ends this weekend with $12.7M. This Is Where I Leave You opened to mediocre numbers after having a less than expected Sunday. It will take in only $11.5M for Warner Bros.
Speaking of franchises, Sony and Denzel Washington hope to launch one next weekend with The Equalizer and those of us who have seen it believe it will happen.

Dr. Cabbie, Salman Khan’s first international offering that has Vinay Virmani (Breakway, David) in the lead has opened to good reviews on its Canadian release, what with current IMDb rating as 8/10. While the film would be seeing phased release internationally, a good response amongst audience in the country where it belongs to, Canada, is a heartening sign indeed for Salman and Vinay who have come together for an outing that picks up a socially relevant subject (migration of well educated Indians to Canada and the hardships they suffer) while presenting it in an out and out entertaining manner.
This is what the prominent critics have to say about the film.
“Dr. Cabbie has an appealing protagonist, some snappy dialogue and fun characters. The film also manages to be lighthearted, amusing and occasionally heartwarming… provides a pleasingly comical cinematic ride.” – The Star

It all started with a cab ride, fittingly enough. That's where "Dr. Cabbie" star, producer and co-writer Vinay Virmani happened to meet a Toronto taxi driver who used to be a surgeon in his native India, giving the young actor the seed for the idea that would eventually become his follow-up to the 2011 hit "Breakaway."
Directed by Quebec filmmaker Jean-François Pouliot in his first English-language project, the film stars Virmani as Deepak, a recent Indian med-school grad who immigrates to Canada only to find out that his degree isn't recognized. Forced to get a job as a cabbie, but still looking to follow in his late father's footsteps and put his medical training to good use, Deepak begins running a mobile clinic out of the back of his taxi, quickly becoming something of local hero.

Kick superstar Salman Khan will take off for a 3-day tour of Toronto from August 28 to promote Vinay Virmani's big-ticket film Dr. Cabbie. The flash decision to fly in Salman to Toronto post Kick was taken in a move to upstage the Toronto Film Festival which starts on September 4. Dr. Cabbie, directed by Jean-Francois Pouliet was to premier at the Toronto Film festival. Instead, they have decided to steal the Indian thunder at the Toronto Film Festival by inviting Salman Khan, the official producer of Dr. Cabbie to Toronto just days before the film. It's a story we've all heard before: a highly educated immigrant who can't get a job in Canada or the United States because their credentials don't transfer over. Now there's a new (and hilarious) movie about it.
"Dr. Cabbie," which was shot entirely in Toronto and stars Vinay Virmani ("Score: A Hockey Musical") and Kunal Nayyar ("The Big Bang Theory"), follows the frustrating journey of Deepak, who applies for jobs in Toronto but quickly realizes things aren't going as he planned.
Frustrated, he resorts to driving a taxi, which ends up being more lucrative than he imagined.
(Watch trailer, above.)
The movie opens in theatres across North America on September 19.

As they say, a start well made is a right indication of the destination. If the official trailer of Dr. Cabbie is any indication, the team is just on the right path to promise a good fun ride which is all set to be unveiled internationally this September. What also makes the film special is the fact that this is Salman Khan’s first international presentation, hence ensuring an all around visibility.
Though a teaser of the film was released a few weeks back, it is the full fledged official promo which conveys a lot more about what Dr. Cabbie has to offer. One can see that as a central protagonist (yet again after his debut international outing Breakaway (a.k.a. Speedy Singhs)), Vinay Virmani is in complete elements while displaying his boyish charm that made him noticeable in the acting world. As a youngster who gains a medical degree in India,...

Now this is a kind of marketing and promotional initiative that has perhaps never been seen before. Though time and again one hears actors visiting malls and other public places for the promotion of their films, especially in Bollywood, there is a different route being taken by Dr. Cabbie which is an international outing with a mix of India, Canadian and American cast. The film is also special since it sees the coming together of Salman Khan Being Human [Skbh] Productions, FirstTake Entertainment, Caramel Films and Eros International. Mumbai, May 25: Slow and steady seems to be the course of Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif's younger sister Isabel's career. She has been signed to play the second lead opposite British Indian actor Kunal Nayyar in French director Jean-Francois Pouliot's "Dr. Cabbie".
The film, co-produced by Salman Khan, features Vinay Virmani, who played one of the title roles in Bejoy Nambiar's undervalued "David".
Salman wanted to cast Isabel opposite Vinay, but by the time the decision was taken to cast her, it was too late, says a source.
"The 'G.I. Joe' actress Adriane Palicki had already been signed opposite Vinay. So Isabel stepped.

About a young Indian doctor who immigrates to Canada only to discover his degree isn't recognized, the film stars Virmani as Deepak, who finds another way to put his medical skills to good use: open a mobile clinic out of the back of a cab.
