Heropanti was made with the sole intention of establishing star son Tiger Shroff as the next big thing. It fails spectacularly in its objective. A bad film trying to sell a bad actor is one of the most painful things to sit through.
Heropanti is set in the ‘jaatlands’ of Haryana and attempts to tell the story of the struggle between conservative mindsets and the new generation. So the heroine Dimpy (Kriti Sanon) lives in a household that gives women no personal liberty but she still walks around in the skimpiest of blouses and lehangas tied dangerously low on her waist. When her sister Renu runs away on her wedding night, the men in her family kidnap all the friends of the boy Renu ran away with. One of them is Babloo (Tiger Shroff) and as expected love blossoms in adverse circumstances. What a wonderful chance to make a statement on the evils of khaps,...

[1] As the year comes to an end, anybody and everybody are posting their best of the year lists. Most of these lists contain variations of the same 15 or 20 films. To break the mold, some are even posting lists of the best films of the year that you probably haven't seen. I find that even these lists are filled with the same movies. And if you're a film geek reading a site like /Film, chances are you know about most of the movies on these lists. I wanted to do something different and compile a list of the best films of the year that you've never heard of. The selections should be movies that (for the most part) none of your family or friends have heard of, and you might even have to do some extra legwork to get your hands on. It is not an easy task. Even though we...

It was two years back that a film titled Fantastic was announced. With Sanjay Chhel (Khoobsoorat, Maan Gaye Mughal-e-azam) as the director and Percept Pictures as the production house, the film was pitched as a romantic comedy. The cast comprised of actors like Paresh Rawal, Konkona Sen Sharma, Neha Dhupia, Rahul Khanna, and Javed Jaffrey.Shooting of the film was supposed to begin in 2008 itself and release in 2009. However, this was before the release of Maan Gaye Mughal-e-azam. Once the Rahul Bose-Mallika Sherawat film bombed at the box office, there was no further news on Fantastic. As things stand today, there is no movement on the film. Also, Neha is no more associated with the film. "No, I am definitely not there in Fantastic", confirms Neha.Meanwhile, what happens to another film of hers - Pappu Can't Dance Saala. This film that reunites her with Raat Gayi Baat Gayi...
