When it comes to making features like this one, i love the idea of coming up with my own personal “100 Great Kung Fu Movies” of all time. It is tough choosing just 100 because you know there are many more great Kung Fu movies that are not on the list.
I have decided that to make the list, a movie must have a few hand to hand moments during fight scenes in the movies chosen. If for example its mainly sword play with one fight scene hand to hand it won’t make the list. Its old school “style” Kung Fu movies, not modern day settings.
I understand everyone will have their own personal favorites and some may not agree with my list and that’s fine because it’s nice to have different opinions on this genre which keeps it fresh and alive when having good debates.
Anyway, thank you...

It is great to see Nick Cheung returning to comedy following a string of hit thrillers like Beast Stalker, Stool Pigeon, Unbeatable and The White Storm. Many of the actor's early film roles were actually in comedies and films such as The Conman and The Duel prove how good a comic actor he is. In his latest film Temporary Family, he teams up with Hk's queen of romantic comedies Sammi Cheng (Needing You..., Love On A Diet) and the pair look to bring lots of laughs to audiences. Temporary Family is due to be released in Australian cinemas on August 21, and thanks to its distributor Magnum Films, we have Five double passes to give away. For a chance to win, all you have to do is to...

It's been a while since Wai-Keung Lau released a crowd-pleaser with Western potential. His Infernal Affairs trilogy made a big impact, yet after these films he somehow slipped back into Hk anonymity. Those of you expecting a new gangster epic should take notice, Wai-Keung Lau is a diverse little devil who handles many different genres. His latest is a true Donnie Yen (14 Blades) action fest set in mid-20th century Shanghai. Talk about a change of scenery.
I've been seeing quite some Wai-Keung Lau films these last couple of weeks and while most of them are not good enough to warrant a review on this blog, his full body of work is proof of his diversity and ability to learn from mistakes. Earlier - often failed - experiments usually pay off in later films, The Legend of Chen Zhen isn't any different. Compare the martial arts in this film to...
