Senator John McCain died on Saturday, 25 August, 2018, at the age of 81. The U.S. Presidential candidate of the Republican Party in 2008, who chided his own supporters in defense of then-Democatic-candidate Barack Obama, for years was known as "the maverick of the Senate." True to this reputation, the former Prisoner-of-War will often be remembered for casting, in 2017 when sick with terminal cancer, the deciding vote against President Trump's attempt to repeal "Obamacare" legislation.
