Law & Order is losing another veteran actor.
The NBC drama will bid farewell to star Camryn Manheim on May 16, the season 23 finale. The actress was a key part of the cast when Dick Wolf revived the flagship procedural for its 21st season.
Manheim becomes the second star to depart L&o this season with her upcoming exit coming on the heels of original star Sam Waterston, who exited in February as D.A. Jack McCoy. He had appeared in more than 400 episodes of the flagship series and returned to lead the revival that remains a high priority for both Wolf and NBC.
To fill the void created by Waterston’s exit, L&o recruited former Scandal favorite Tony Goldwyn to be the show’s new D.A. and join a cast that also includes Hugh Dancy, Reid Scott, Mechad Brooks and Odelya Halevi.

ABC is bringing back a big chunk of its unscripted shows for the 2024-25 TV season.
The network has renewed seven series — American Idol, The Bachelor, Celebrity Jeopardy!, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, Dancing With the Stars, Shark Tank and the ABC News-produced What Would You Do? — for next season. They join The Golden Bachelorette, a spinoff of last fall’s breakout The Golden Bachelor, on the 2024-25 slate. (The Bachelorette is also set for its usual summer run.)
Notably missing from the list of pickups is America’s Funniest Home Videos, ABC’s longest-running entertainment series. A decision hasn’t been made yet on a possible 35th season for the show.
American Idol will air its eighth season on ABC (and 23rd overall) in 2024-25, although it will do so without judge Katy Perry, who is leaving at the end of the current season. Dancing With the Stars (season 33), The Bachelor...

It takes a village to mount a weekly production like Saturday Night Live, and cue cards are one of the most integral parts of it all.
Now the show is offering a rare glimpse at the cue card team at work during last weekend’s episode hosted by Dua Lipa in a new “Beyond Studio 8H” video posted to the show’s YouTube channel.
SNL famously relies on cue cards to guide its performers through a scene. Because script changes happen so often—right up until showtime—the performers can’t fully memorize anything in advance. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Fire Country Season 2 Episode 9 “No Future, No Consequences.”] Dare we say the Leones have something to be very happy about at the end of the penultimate episode of Fire Country Season 2? It comes, of course, after Vince (Billy Burke) is nearly consumed by the flames of a campaign fire. Due to that incident, the truth about his hand tremor and heart arrhythmia does come out, but fortunately, he’s going to be fine and has admitted he needs help. Then comes some good news, followed by good news, then bad news, and then more good news in quick succession: Manny (Kevin Alejandro) won’t lose his job for punching Luke (Michael Trucco) and starting a fire upon learning the other man recommended Three Rock be shut down, the fire camp will remain open, a warrant is out for Manny’s arrest and he’s Mia, and because of his work saving his father, ...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for S.W.A.T. Season 7 Episode 12 “Allegiance.”] Is it just us, or does it feel like S.W.A.T. is taking us one step closer with each episode to Deacon (Jay Harrington) returning to 20-Squad? And we’re counting those before he officially retired, too! Deacon pitches in to help the team in the season’s penultimate episode (which Harrington also directed), and it’s clear that he’s struggling to not be with his team. He admits he still finds himself waking up in the middle of the night and grabbing his phone, convinced he missed a call. He’s even taken to turning his phone off at night, as he does near the end of this episode after admitting to his wife Annie (Bre Blair), “I think it might have been too soon for me to go back.” The episode also sees Hondo (Shemar Moore) facing backlash...

The final boss met his match(es) on Friday night’s edition of Jeopardy! Masters. James Holzhauer, for the first time in the competition so far, walked away empty-handed from the fourth night of competition after facing the two frontrunners of Season 2 together in what can only be described as a very competitive Game 8. Here’s a look at the major highlights of this two-game episode of Jeopardy! Masters. Game Seven This match-up put the three lowest-scoring contestants coming into the evening together: Matt Amodio, Amy Schneider, and Mattea Roach, each of whom had just one match point to show for the previous three nights of competition. In the first round, Schneider took a healthy lead, thanks in part to getting the first Daily Double correct (Cuba was the right answer to the “Coming to America”-categoried clue of, “From 1960 to 1962 a covert program called Operation Pedro Pan brought thousands of children to the U.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the first two episodes of Doctor Who Season 1, “Space Babies” and “The Devil’s Chord.”] Really, it only took a couple minutes in his first appearance in the last of the Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials to know that Ncuti Gatwa is the right one to take over the role of the Doctor. He embodies the fun and joy of the character—and, as we see as the new season gets underway, some of the weight and darkness as well. Gatwa’s Doctor’s introduction came with a twist, with David Tennant’s Fourteenth not regenerating but bigenerating, splitting in two. It was fun, and compared to Fourteen (who was clearly feeling a lot), the Fifteenth Doctor seemed to be doing a lot better. But now, in “The Devil’s Chord,” the Doctor tells the newest companion, Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), that defeating the Toymaker, which he did via bigeneration, took everything and ...

And to bring it back, they must face off against Maestro, who turns out to be one of the Toymaker’s children. They are defeated, in a music battle that features The Beatles, but as they’re banished, they warn, “the one who waits is almost here.” Below, Jink Monsoon discusses her guest spot and shares hopes for a return appearance. The Chi’s Emmett is a smooth talker, as he himself notes in this week’s midseason premiere. “I’ve got the gift of gab,” he confidently tells Jada and Darnell. “With women, not criminals!” his mother shoots back. It’s an important point, given the conversation that Emmett thinks he’s ready for by the end of the episode. (Spoiler alert: He has no idea how much worse things can get.)
And that’s really saying something, given that Emmett was already at a lifetime low, having just botched a murder attempt on the high-powered gangster who runs the South Side of Chicago.

We thought we’d never see the day: Eloise (Claudia Jessie) is a blushing debutante! Of course she’s not going to be anything like her sister Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), who’s visiting from domestic bliss in Clyvedon — but this society season, and this season of Bridgerton, promises plenty of its own excitement.
It’s the start of a new society season, following an eventful Season 1, and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) is thirsty for some excitement. Eloise looks like she might faint as she presents herself to the Queen, but her faux pas is upstaged by a fresh scandal sheet from Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews), the nom de plume of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Here we go again!
Now that his opera singer lover is out of the picture, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) is in search of marriage — and definitely not love. He’s treating courtship like a business...

NBC’s plans for Saturday Night Live‘s 50th anniversary extend far beyond an anniversary special (although that’s certainly part of it).
The network announced today that it’s throwing a “seven-month long party” to celebrate SNL, including a November election special, new holiday specials, a documentary series, multi-part music specials, and a comedy special at Radio City Music Hall.
The live, 3-hour SNL50 Primetime Special will air as part of a “celebratory weekend” on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 8-11pm Et. The show—and red-carpet event—will “welcome stars of past and present to 8H,” according to the network.
The special falls in the middle of Saturday Night Live’s upcoming 50th season—though technically falls eight months short of the 50-year anniversary of its premiere on October 11, 1975.
The last time viewers were treated to an SNL anniversary special was for the show’s 40th.
