Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin shocked the world on January 2, 2023 when he suffered cardiac arrest after making a tackle live on “Monday Night Football.” The game was postponed as he was rushed to the hospital, and he slowly recovered for a week until he was ultimately released on January 9. During the “Sesame Street”-themed March 15 episode of “The Masked Singer,” an energetic Hamlin appeared with his kid brother Damir to give everyone a health update (and reveal a clue for the Squirrel).
“The man that brought the whole world together and inspired us all,” declared “Tms” host Nick Cannon as he introduced the Buffalo Bills safety to the audience.

Sports fanatic Ken Jeong could barely contain his composure as he laid eyes on the fully recovered football star. “I’m just so glad you’re here,” the panelist readily admitted while fighting back tears.

The Masked Singers are getting fewer and fewer each week — so now that we’re coming up on Season 4’s fifth episode, how are you feeling about the status of your guesses?
Before you answer that, allow us to remind you about this week’s Group B Playoffs, which saw Serpent, Crocodile, Baby Alien, Whatchamacallit and Seahorse digging deep to try and stay in the game. Our favorite performance, you ask? Why it was Seahorse’s rendition of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” which made us want to paint ourselves like one of Jack’s French women in tribute.

Former NFL star Mark Sanchez shocked the panelists on “The Masked Singer” Wednesday night when it was revealed the sports commentator was hiding beneath the Baby Alien mask. Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger were way off the mark with their final guesses, which meant none of them earned a point toward the coveted Golden Ear trophy they’re competing for. The panelists on The Masked Singer appear to be getting worse at guessing as the season goes on. After they failed to guess Brian Austin Green last week despite getting very close, they didn't even get in the ball park of this week's reveal. Turns out the Baby Alien is former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. While the panel was guessing comedians and Broadway stars (thanks to the clue about the Tony Awards stage), they didn't even begin to approach a sports star. Sometimes football players also like theatre, and sometimes they also present awards at the Tonys in 2010. Who knew? Mark did not explain why he went with the Eastern European accent for the character, but he did say that the best...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 4, Episode 4 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired Oct. 14 on Fox.
Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez isn’t known for singing, choreography or puppetry. But for “The Masked Singer,” he had to master all three.
Sanchez, now a college football analyst for ESPN, was the fourth celebrity to be revealed this season on “The Masked Singer.” But he didn’t wear just a normal disguise: Sanchez was “Baby Alien,” the show’s first ever costume that came with a puppet.
“I think that needed somebody that was big enough and strong enough to handle the weight of the costume,” Sanchez said. “Because after wearing it for a while, it wears on you a little bit. It’s like 40 pounds. And it positions itself on your upper chest area and lower back and shoulders, so they needed somebody with some broad shoulders to handle it.

This week’s Masked Singer focused its energies on plumbing the contestants’ childhoods for clues, which was ironic, given that The Child… er, we mean Baby Alien, was booted at the end of the hour.
In between the last episode and this one, I had become convinced that Sacha Baron Cohen was behind the tiny extraterrestrial. After all, there’s a new Borat movie coming out soon, and Cohen loves himself some stunt marketing. And what better cover than hiding in plain sight by doing the Borat voice, like Baby Alien did in all of his interviews and clue packages?...

Turkey, family and football. It’s a Thanksgiving trio that’s been going strong for nearly a century now. Your first thought when it comes to Thanksgiving football might be simply that the Detroit Lions play — and lose — every year, during an otherwise “meh” day of games. But your memory would be deceiving you. First off, the Lions aren’t that bad on Thanksgiving, with an all-time holiday record of 37-40-2. Not too shabby. And there have been a fair amount of noteworthy performances, controversies and bloopers on Thanksgiving — enough to even make a list of 10 memorable football moments without having to resort to including that “Friends” episode where Monica and Ross wrestle over the ball for hours.
