Actor/ director and comedian Jordan Peele has been the mastermind behind some of the most talked about horror movies, including Get Out, Us, and of course, Nope. However, his recent cinematic journey as a producer has not been quite as promising as Dev Patel’s very own Monkey Man, despite the hype, was far from making a splash at the box office.

Certainly, Peele deserves a break, and his recent meeting with Marvel Executives might just change his fate. With the recent report, fans might wonder what project Peele would pick up. While most fans almost believed that he would direct Mahershala Ali’s Blade, we think he might just land on a different exciting project, given Yann Demange is set to direct Blade (if Marvel Studios is still sticking with him).

Stan Lee was never afraid to go places with his superheroes like Captain America and Iron Man from his early days at Marvel Comics. This confidence seeped down to every comic writer at the company who often subverted their fan expectation with certain storylines. However, there were several controversial choices that writers had to make, which did not impress the fandom.
Stan Lee’s Marvel Comics made some controversial choices in its decades-long storytelling
Some writers quickly realized their mistakes and figured out a way around them, while others chose to run with their choice to see where it took them. The latter choice either brought them new fans or angered the existing ones.

One of our favorite fellows competing on “The Masked Singer” season 11 is disguised as the Gumball. He wowed the crowd in his first appearance on March 13 with a medley of “If I Only Had a Heart” by Jack Haley and “Heartbeat Song” by Kelly Clarkson. It became clear quite quickly that this contender is someone who has made his living by raising his voice in song.
Forget those guesses by the judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Rita Ora and Robin Thicke that Gumball is Chace Crawford, Jamie Dornan or Kevin Jonas. We’ve rewatched that first performance and taken another look at his clues package. We are sure we’ve cracked the code as to Gumball’s true identity. A couple months ago, we heard a rumor that a team of supernatural characters known as the Midnight Sons might be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe… and now Oscar Isaac has let it be known that if a Midnight Sons project were to happen, he wants his MCU character Moon Knight to be part of it!
As I’ve said before, one of my favorite comic book story arcs is the “Rise of the Midnight Sons”, where Doctor Strange oversaw the formation of a team of supernatural heroes – Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, Morbius, the Nightstalkers, and Darkhold characters Vicki Montesi, Louise Hastings, and Sam Buchanan – who were brought together to battle Lilith, the Mother of All Demons, and her evil offspring, the Lilin. In “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” our hero Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is transported to a dimension where dozens of other Spider-heroes reside — or at least intersect like threads on a web.
There’s Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), the leader of this Spider Society. His right hand is Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman (Issa Rae), who shares the same superhero name as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman (Hailee Steinfeld). You won’t confuse them though, as each hero has his/her own distinct character design and animation style.

A line of dialogue by Andy Samberg's Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider was removed and replaced in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Samberg's brief appearance in Spider-Verse 2 as the Scarlet Spider left a lasting impact on fans. So much so that Sony Pictures celebrated the character on social media, comparing him to Ryan Gosling's Ken from Barbie.
Ben Reilly is not the first character to have lines of dialogue altered for the home release of the film. Hailee Steinfeld's Gwen Stacy had an emotional line removed and a powerful Miles Morales speech was cut short.

This Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse article contains spoilers.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse eased us into the multiversal weirdness. After introducing Miles, we finally met Peter B. Parker, followed by Spider-Gwen. Soon, things went nuts with a noirish detective Spider-Man, an anime girl from the future, and a cartoon pig. Once all that was done, we got to see a futuristic Spider-Man 2099 interact with a badly animated version with an obsession with pointing.
But this year’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse goes absolutely crazy with Spider-Man variants. Some are throwaway designs for the movie, but there are also many who are deep cuts from Marvel Comics history. Here’s a guide to all the new arachnid heroes and heroines in Across the Spider-Verse:
Spider-Woman
Starting with the supporting cast, we have a take on Jessica Drew as Spider-Woman, a mainstay heroine in Marvel Comics who was an Avenger and Agent of both Shield and Sword.

Those who were reading Marvel Comics in the 1990s likely recall the Spider-Man Clone Saga with embarrassment. From 1994 all the way through 1996, Spider-Man was embroiled in an extensive plot involving a villain named the Jackal and a villainous scheme to flood the world with Spider-Man duplicates. The story involved a Peter Parker clone named Kaine, the death of Aunt May (!), and the discovery that one of Peter's clones had been alive, living as a drifter, since the 1970s.
The Clone Saga technically began in the 1970s. The Jackal, it turns out, was an ex-teacher of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy who was creepily in love with the latter. When Gwen died, he used his skills in cloning to bring her back from the dead. He also cloned Peter, just for fun I guess. In making the clone, though, the Jackal learned that Peter was Spider-Man, and immediately sought revenge on the original Spider-Man,...

Warning: this post contains spoilers for "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse."
The wait is finally over and, nearly five years after the original "Into the Spider-Verse" introduced the first cinematic version of Miles Morales to the world, the beloved Marvel superhero is back in "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse." Much like the 2018 film, producers Phill Lord and Chris Miller helped inject a great deal of humor into the film, having penned the screenplay alongside David Callaham. While there are many, many great jokes peppered throughout the sequel, one joke stands a cut above the rest as not only deeply hilarious but as a demonstration of precisely what makes these films work so well.
Towards the end of the first act of the movie when things are starting to come together and we're beginning to explore some of the other universes within the Spider-Verse, we take a little visit to Lego Spidey's world.

This article contains major spoilers for "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse."
The central gimmick of both 2018's "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and its new follow-up, "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," is that — thanks to multiverse shenanigans — any version of Spider-Man can appear and interact with any other version. The films center primarily on Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and a spider-powered version of Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), but incorporate dozens of other Spider-People in supporting roles, including some of the stranger ones, like the anthropomorphic pig Spider-Ham (John Mulaney) or the rumpled-rock-flyer-constructed Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya). Many Spider-Fans entered these films with mental notepads, eager to see their own favorite version of Spider-Man represented on the big screen. Personally, I was chuffed to see the Scarlet Spider (Andy Samberg), the 1990s Spider-Man clone in a ripped sweatshirt.
The "Spider-Verse" gimmick of "infinite inclusion" also tapped into the movies' thematic underpinnings. The 2018 film stated outwardly...

June kicks off this weekend with another anticipated sequel, this one being “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” continuing on from the Oscar-winning animated feature from 2018. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
It was pretty apparent when Sony’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” managed to gross $190 million domestically and roughly the same amount overseas, before winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, that the filmmakers would try to continue the story of Miles Morales, as voiced by Shameik Moore. “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” continues Miles’ story as he reunites with Gwen Stacy (voiced by Halle Steinfeld) and the Jake Johnson-voiced “Peter B. Parker.” The sequel also introduces Oscar Isaac voicing Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099, and Issa Rae voicing Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman, and it was just announced that Andy Samberg is voicing Ben Reilly aka Scarlet Spider with Karan Soni voicing Spider-Man India and Amandla Stenberg also voicing a role.

It was confirmed a little over a month ago that Scarlet Spider would be appearing in "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," but his voice had been kept a secret until now. The character was first introduced in 1975 but was prominently featured during the Clone Saga of Spider-Man comics in the mid-1990s. This might sound radical on paper but received mixed-results in execution. The clone of Peter Parker went by the name Ben Reilly, donning a shredded Spidey hoodie over his super-suit while on the case.
As if Ben couldn't get any more painfully '90s, he also bleached his hair and had plenty of gnar-bro fashion accessories to try and capture the look of the time. Unfortunately, the storyline led to the reveal that Ben Reilly was the "original" Peter Parker, and I'm sure you can guess how fans reacted to the news. Spoiler Alert: they hated it. To be fair,...

We're a little over a week out from the release of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" — the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2018 Oscar-winning movie — and the first reactions to the film have arrived on social media. And according to critics who were lucky enough to catch an early screening, "Across the Spider-Verse" is "terrific," an "incredible accomplishment," and the "ultimate Spider-Man experience." As you might've expected, everyone is going ga-ga over the work put into the animation, noting how it's "impossible to see it all [and] experience it all in one sitting."
Collider's Steven Weintraub echoed that with his reaction: "Absolutely loved ['Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.'] Wanted to push pause about a hundred times to study the incredible artistry on display. Cannot recommend this film enough and already looking forward to seeing it again." The term "alter ego" is a Latin phrase that translates to the beautiful oxymoron of "alternate self." In ancient literature, alternate selves were typically presented as dark omens; doppelgängers and the like. The idea of hiding one's identity and surreptitiously committing acts of heroism perhaps originated in pop literature with the publication of Baroness Orczy's "The Scarlet Pimpernel" in 1905, and was further codified by the publication of Johnston McCulley's "The Curse of Capistrano," the 1919 pulp novel starring Zorro.
I bring up these literary antecedents as the model on which all modern superheroes have been explicitly based. The distance between the Scarlet Pimpernel and the Scarlet Spider is not so great. The appeal of an alter ego, or a secret identity, should be self-evident. Not only does it allow a superhero character to appear as a free agent, outside of the law and free from being identified, but it...

The makers of upcoming animated sequel "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" understand the myriad Spider-Men that have appeared in the character's history, and out of the 240 character models created for the film, many are Spider-People. With each new trailer, Spider-Fans have been keeping their eyes peeled, looking for the parallel Spider-Man they like best.
Most Spider-Fans will likely shake their heads in dismay, however, when you bring up the infamous Clone Saga. In mid-1990s Spider-Man comics, it was revealed that a supervillain called the Jackal had cloned Spider-Man in an effort to, I dunno, sow discord. One of the clones, going by the name Ben Reilly, continued to fight crime as a hero called the Scarlet Spider, a fellow who sported a ripped hoodie.
Natch: It would eventually be revealed that there was a mix-up, and Ben Reilly was actually the original Peter Parker. For a spell, Ben Reilly was the "main" Spider-Man.

It’s been more than four long years since Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse first hit theaters, but Spider-fans and animation fans will finally get another dose of Miles Morales’ Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen when the sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, swings into theaters June 2.
Funko, the toy company known for its endless array of vinyl figurines and bobbleheads, is getting into the action, tapping into the Spider-Verse for a new collection that the company is unveiling Tuesday.
And just as Across the Spider-Verse will showcase a myriad of Spider-characters from all sorts of alternate dimensions, this new collection does the same. From Spider-Punk to Spider-Woman to Spider-Man India, this collection is likely to tingle at least one of your senses.
The main line includes 3.75-inch figures of Miles Morales in and out of costume, and ditto for Gwen Stacy. There are also figures of Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Byte and Scarlet Spider.

Make room on your wall because a new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse poster is ready to swing into your life. In the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse poster, you can catch Ghost-Spider, Spider-Punk, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Woman, Spectacular Spider-Man, Spider-Cat, and even Julia Carpenter’s Spider-Woman, flanking Miles on all sides. It’s spectacular. Still, even the most hardcore Spider-Man fan will need help tracking all the characters in this film.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse finds Shameik Moore returning as Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, aka Ghost-Spider, in another web-slinging adventure through parallel universes. Well, the newest look at "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" certainly has some very interesting footage for fans to dissect. Seriously, those shots of all the Spidersonas together in what appears to be some sort of middle ground between multiverses look incredible, and we are certain that the actual animation to bring these characters to life will be stunning.
This multiverse middle ground doesn't just have the potential to look cool. "Into the Spider-Verse" proved that it was possible to travel between dimensions, with a couple of previously-obscure characters ushering in this important, multi-franchise-spanning plot point. With the waters now properly tested, it looks like "Across the Spider-Verse" will be taking advantage of all the creative opportunities involved in a multiverse concept, including just how many crazy characters can get their big-screen debut.
We have already known some of the "new" Spidersonas that will be appearing in the film -- Jessica Drew,...
