As Ryan Gosling took the mic for a special screening of his latest film “The Fall Guy,” the Oscar nominee was eager to salute the stunt community — in particular, to show off the record-breaking stunt that his double performed.
“There’s a gentleman who buckles me into a car — that’s Logan Holladay — for a stunt he’s about to do,” Gosling told the audience assembled at the Grove in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. “Then he goes on to do eight-and-a-half cannon rolls, which is a world record. And then he pulls me out of the car and pats me on the back for the stunt that he just did.”
That’s what makes “The Fall Guy” unique, Gosling explained. “In any other movie, you wouldn’t know that. But in this movie, you do. The lack of recognition [of] the contribution that they make to cinema, to some of...

A quick Google search will reveal a whole lot of articles talking about the death of the "Movie Star" in the 21st century. Brands and IPs have replaced A-listers as the biggest selling points for films over the last 25 years, there's no denying that. Still, things may not be quite as dire as they appear. For one, audiences seem to be growing a little tired of the franchise model lately. For another, there's a small group of 20-something actors who are steadily making a bigger name for themselves and carving out a career much like the mega-stars of old did.
Their ranks include Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh, both of whom have been noticeably careful about the films they make and, just as importantly, the directors they work with. Between them, the pair have collaborated with the likes of Christopher Nolan, Luca Guadagnino, Paul King, Ari Aster, Wes Anderson, and...

During the finale of “Fast & Furious 6,” the franchise’s heroes rather famously raced down an airport runway that some estimated stretched for more than 28 miles. So it should come as little surprise that the “Fast” series farewell film has potentially been super-sized to accommodate multiple features.
Speaking on the red carpet at the “Fast X” premiere in Rome on Friday, star Vin Diesel said that while most people expected “Fast X” to kick off a two-part “Fast” finale that would culminate with the 11th film in the series, a 12th film might be coming soon.
“Going into making this movie, the studio asked if this could be a two-parter,” Diesel said to a Fandango reporter Naz Perez. “And after the studio saw this one, they said, ‘Could you make “Fast X” the finale, a trilogy?’”
Added original “Fast & Furious” co-star Michelle Rodriguez, “It’s three acts in any story.

Fast X may not be the penultimate entry in the Fast and Furious franchise after all. During a red carpet interview at the film’s world premiere in Rome, Vin Diesel appeared to confirm that Universal Pictures is considering a 12th movie.
When the face of the franchise was asked about its future, Diesel initially said he wanted to avoid “tipping the hat too much” before teasing the three-act finale. “Going into making this movie, the studio asked if this could be a two-parter,” Diesel said. “And after the studio saw this Part One, they said, ‘Could you make Fast X, the finale, a trilogy?’”
“It’s three acts in any story,” co-star Michelle Rodriguez added. Host Naz Perez followed up by asking if they were “confirming right now that we’re getting a third movie,” but the actors scurried away after Diesel quipped, “You’re gonna get me in trouble here.

Vin Diesel has revealed that the Fast & Furious franchise may wind down with three films, rather than the two previously discussed.
The F&f actor-producer’s comments came during an appearance alongside co-star Michelle Rodriguez on the red carpet of Fast X in Rome. When asked by Fandango’s Naz Perez about what lies ahead for his globe-trotting street racer Dominic Toretto beyond the new film, which hits theaters on May 19, Diesel said, “It’s a really good question. As filmmakers, you want to allow people to enjoy the film without tipping the hat too much. I can say this. Going into making this movie, the studio had asked if this could be a two-parter. And after the studio saw this, part one, they said, could you make Fast X, the finale, a trilogy?”
“It’s three acts in any story,” teased Rodriguez.

The “Fast and Furious” franchise might not be ending as quickly as fans previously thought. The upcoming “Fast X” is being billed by Universal Pictures as the beginning of the end of the saga, which kicked off in 2001. The plan has long been to split the finale into two films, “Fast X” and the upcoming 11th installment, but franchise mastermind Vin Diesel let it slip at the “Fast X” world premiere in Rome that the finale might actually be spread across three films instead, which means a surprise 12th “Fast and Furious” movie might be on the way.
Variety has reached out to Universal Pictures for comment.
“Going into making this movie, the studio asked if this could be a two-parter,” Diesel said. “And after the studio saw this one, they said, ‘Could you make “Fast X,” the finale, a trilogy?'”
“It’s three acts in any story,” added franchise veteran Michelle Rodriguez.

E! Network earned a solid ratings win over the weekend with its Grammys coverage. Overall, the network’s “Live from E!” offerings from the awards show managed to deliver 171 million cross-platform video minutes — a 15 increase from last year.
Hosted by Laverne Cox and Bobby Bones, this year’s telecast brought in an audience of 1.10 million live + same day total viewers, 410,000 of which were among the 18-49 key demo. Jeff Goldblum gave renewed meaning to the oft-used phrase “intimate concert” on Wednesday night during his jazz comedy show at The Sun Rose in West Hollywood.
Before Goldblum was joined on stage by the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, with whom he has released two jazz albums, the “Jurassic World Dominion” star kicked off the show solo by getting to know his audience. But this wasn’t your average pre-concert Q&a or call-and-response game. Goldblum went down a list of attendees’ names and held personal conversations with a good portion of the cozy 100-person room. Many were called at random, but Goldblum did find a few friends in the venue — including “Russian Doll” actor Charlie Barnett and TV host Naz Perez — and chatted about everything from upcoming weddings and microdosing to his recent trip to Italy to walk in Prada’s fashion show.
“You like the jazz music? Well, we’re gonna play some,...
