The parameters, mutually agreed upon by my editor Danny Kasman and myself, are these: A bi-weekly (every two weeks) column, entitled "On Mubi / Off," covering two films—one currently available on the Mubi streaming platform in the United States, the other screening offsite (in theaters, on VOD, Blu-ray/DVD, etc). The movies may share some similarities in approach, execution and theme, or they may not. Mostly, my own interests and curiosity will dictate what films are covered and in what way, and I hope you'll find the prose, the pairings, and/or the analysis compelling enough to follow along. On MUBITerminal Island (Stephanie Rothman, 1973)Sight unseen, I thought Stephanie Rothman's 1973 exploitation cheapie Terminal Island would make for a good inaugural article lead-off—something Z-grade disreputable to complement the A-level sleaze (not necessarily a criticism) of the other movie covered in this column. (We'll get to you momentarily, Mr. Bond.

Get Your Own Back was one of the most fun children's game shows of the 1990s. The show - which saw kids covering adults in gunge - returned at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, and is now eyeing a live tour and TV comeback.
Presenter Dave Benson Phillips's career may have been off-screen since his '90s heyday, but he still has fond memories of classic kids' shows and his great friendship with Fun House 'rival' Pat Sharp.
Why are shows like Get Your Own Back and The Crystal Maze still so adored by nostalgic fans?
"A lot of it is because the people of the 1990s were very vocal about the shows they like. We liked the shows then but there were no platforms at the time where you could say to the world, 'I liked that programme, who's with me?'.
"You have in the 1990s, a lot...

The Big Brother feud between Brian Belo and Helen Wood has been a major talking point since last night.
Brian accused Helen of "picking on" the nominated Chloe Wilburn, and angrily called the 2014 winner a "vile" bully in the Diary Room, while Helen said that she hated people who "f**king act the hero".
Big Brother Day 35: Who had a good day, and who had a bad day?
Big Brother: Brian Belo vs Helen Wood - Whose side are you on?
Many of the former housemates - including some who had to live with Helen last year - had their say on Twitter. They weren't holding back.
Kieran McLeod is unhappy with what's been happening in the house.
Every one knows if Kms was still in that house we all know this shit would not be going down like it is people would be in the place

After the first hour or so, some viewers will stop and think to themselves, "Wait, why is this flick getting so much hype, again?" Yes, this is when we arrive at the dirty secret of the latest installment in the "Fast and Furious" franchise; it's actually the worst movie of the post-"Tokyo Drift"/Vin Diesel-less era. Before you immediately jump to the comments section to protest, please note this isn't click bait masking as contrarian opinion just to get fans all riled up. Sadly, it's the truth, but with one big caveat, the last 10 minutes or so of the picture will simply knock you out. Let's explore why, shall we? [Note: There are some spoilers from "Furious 7" ahead. Big Brother has been ruled in breach of Ofcom guidelines, after the word 'piss' was broadcast multiple times in the course of one conversation.
Ofcom received three complaints when an episode of the most recent series of the Channel 5 show was broadcast at 12.15pm containing the offensive language.
The word and its variations were used 14 times in the space of 50 seconds, during a conversation between Chris, Ashleigh, Ash, Winston and Helen about Chris's behaviour.
Sentences such as, "You must have done something to piss her off" and, "Are you a piss-off merchant?" caused viewers to complain that the language was inappropriate for a pre-watershed broadcast.
Channel 5 responded by saying that it had removed a great deal of offensive language from the broadcast to ensure its suitability and that the word 'pissed' has been ruled by Ofcom as having "higher-to-medium acceptability in pre-watershed broadcasts".

Big Brother's decision to bring back six ex-housemates for yesterday's task had a big impact on the finalists.

Big Brother housemates Ashleigh Coyle and Helen Wood are still at odds after yet more drama in the compound.
Earlier this week, Helen and Chris Wright moved into a secret room where they could listen to their fellow housemates, but Helen was unhappy with what she overheard yesterday (August 12).

Ahead of the final on Friday (August 15), remaining housemates Ash Harrison, Ashleigh Coyle, Chris Wright, Christopher Hall, Helen Wood and Pav Paul must try to learn important skills to win a party for themselves and their ex-housemates.
First up, Danielle McMahon and Zoe Birkett will be back to give the group some media training. The duo will give each housemate individual teaching, which they must put to good use when Big Brother hosts a press conference featuring questions from the public.
Biannca Lake and Mark Byron, meanwhile, will teach the finalists how to exit the house in style and have a "memorable winning attitude". After their tutorial, the housemates must each deliver a signature exit pose, react to boos, and show off their new good winning attitude.

Here at Digital Spy, we're lucky enough to get a batch of pictures from each night's episode pinged directly to our inboxes every day - and there always tend to be some amusing snaps in there. It's Big Brother - how could there not be?
But while we were perusing today's selection, for some reason they looked particularly silly. Is this how the housemates always look? Or have they finally cracked in the last week of the show? We'll present the evidence and - in those legendary Big Brother words - you decide...
Exhibit #1: Ashleigh is not happy.
Either she's furious about something or she's overdone it on the Tangfastics.
Exhibit #2: Ashleigh is baffled.
Er, what did you just say?
Exhibit #3: Chris is fed up of gritting his teeth.
"I do like you. I swear. Yes. Really. Now leave me alone please."
Exhibit #4: No, seriously, Chris is fed up.

Big Brother housemates Ashleigh Coyle and Pav Paul have become famous for today's task.
The duo were told earlier that they have been transformed into celebrities and will be treated like stars, beginning with new clothes for them both.
Ashleigh and Pav were also told to make outrageous demands of Ash Harrison and Christopher Hall, who have become their entourage.
So far, this largely seems to have consisted of making Ashleigh cups of tea while she waits for a tweet from P Diddy.
However, the duo will also face the darker side of celebrity as they will come up against the paparazzi.
Throughout the day, Big Brother will read headlines to the house, such as "X was spotted having a cat fight in the garden with the housemate they have the least in common with".
Ashleigh and Pav must pose in the location from the headline with the housemate that they think matches the description.

Big Brother housemates Helen Wood and Chris Wright were shockingly evicted last night - but they only got as far as a secret room.
The group was aghast when they were gathered on the sofa yesterday (August 11), and even more surprised when Emma Willis began speaking to them over the tannoy.
She announced that Helen was the 13th housemate to be evicted, leaving the Mancunian visibly upset.
Despite the fact that Helen was told to leave the house through the Diary Room, the housemates did not seem to realise that the eviction was fake and were all surprised by the dramatic turn of events - with Ashleigh Coyle offering to sort out Helen's suitcase for her as Christopher Hall repeated: "This can't be right."

Big Brother housemate Ashleigh Coyle was struggling with homesickness yesterday (August 10).
As the group come into the final week, both Christopher Hall and Chris Wright noted that the 18-year-old's homesickness has "stepped up a notch".
"There's nothing we can say anymore," Christopher mused, while Chris joked: "When I'm feeling s**tty, she's in a good mood, and when she's feeling s**tty, I'm in a good mood."
Ashleigh later opened up to Chris about her excitement about going home, saying: "I can't wait to get back to normality... To have my normal way of thinking again."
Chris agreed that none of his friends ever talk about themselves, as Ashleigh joked: "One more week of listening to the same s**t about themselves!"
However, Ashleigh's homesickness did not go unnoticed by the other housemates, as Helen Wood described her as "very boring" for an 18-year-old and added: "She's a very grumpy girl.

Big Brother housemates Christopher Hall and Ash Harrison have been given the power as part of today's task.
The duo will be called to the Diary Room today where they will be given the Power of Knowledge, while in the Control Room they will be told that they will have a "big decision" to make.
As part of their power trip, the pair are allowed to take over the Diary Room and give Big Brother two "killer questions" that they would like their fellow housemates to face.
Christopher and Ash will also become 'psychiatrists' today, and will interview their fellow contestants one by one in the small task room - now a shrink's office.
As well as asking questions about their journey in the house, the duo will carry out word association tests - with the help of pictures of the housemates - and interpret various Rorschach drawings they are given.

Big Brother's Ashleigh Coyle has expressed her gratitude for being put in the house.
With the series ending on Friday (August 15), Ashleigh became teary and told Christopher Hall that he and Chris Wright have been a "massive, massive part" of her experience.
"I wouldn't ask for it any other way," she said. "[I would never have been] as grateful to this experience and the people who put me in this house [without] the fact that I made you as friends."
Ashleigh then discussed Helen Wood, Ash Harrison and Pav Paul, saying that despite the divide, she would be delighted for them if one of the trio is crowned the winner.
"I still feel if there are three people who do misunderstand me, it's personally because I don't want anything bad to happen to them three," she explained.
"Because I know I don't have a chance in hell of winning the show, I want it to be you or Chris.

Big Brother's Helen Wood has been found guilty of causing the divide between the housemates.
The verdict was delivered by Judge Judi James yesterday (August 10), after both Helen and Ashleigh Coyle gave their arguments to the court.
Helen's lawyer Pav Paul told Ashleigh: "You started your journey as a very loveable, bubbly character and was perceived as the young innocent lady of the house. However, this doesn't seem to be the case.
"Your tendency to pounce in arguments only when you're backed up by your friends shows you're malicious, which consequently leaves a divide in the house every time."
Ashleigh's lawyer Christopher Hall countered: "Ashleigh has strove to make any amends with any housemates that she has had difficulty with.
"She has displayed determination to overcome problems and has put effort into building relationships with all housemates, in spite of the many nasty comments which have been directed at her.

The divide between housemates in the Big Brother house continues to grow.
In tonight's show (August 10), housemates discussed the impact of Winston Showan and Mark Byron leaving the house, with Ash Harrison suggesting that if "two others could have gone it [would] not be as bad", before adding: "No offence, Pav."
Ashleigh Coyle told Big Brother that she was "dead excited" to be in the final, and analysed the different groups in the house. She suggested that Pav has joined Ash and Helen's group and described the situation as being like "watching the new kid desperately trying to get in with the popular kids".
Ashleigh went on to say: "[Pav is] actually a really nice guy and easy to talk to… It cringes me out when I see him desperately want to be their friend."

Housemates have been reacting to last night's (August 8) eviction, when Mark Byron and Winston Showan left the Big Brother house.
In tonight's show, we saw the housemates look on as Mark left the house to a chorus of boos. As Winston's name was called out as the next evictee, they were shocked and surprised, with Helen Wood's first reaction being: "Is this a joke?"
She then noticed that because housemates were all laughing out of shock when Winston left, they didn't get to say goodbye properly. All the housemates decided that it was a fake eviction and that he was in a different room as the next Power Housemate.
Big Brother called Ash Harrison to the Diary Room to confirm that Winston was actually evicted, and neither him or Mark would be returning to the house. Helen comforted Ash by saying: "You'll see him in a week."

Speaking to host Emma Willis in his exit interview, Mark was immediately forced to confront his behaviour in the 'Power of Money' task.
"I think for me it was just the reasoning behind it," he said of the amount of criticism Chris faced for his decision.
"Me and Ash had the exact same reasoning and then Chris's reasoning just didn't make sense."
After Willis berated him for letting Chris face such a backlash, Mark finally conceded: "I should have said I had changed my mind.

The trio were talking in the garden last night (August 7) when they decided to disregard the rules and go behind the walls. Mark Byron chose not to follow them, but excitedly watched.
As a result, Big Brother punished the entire house, waking up and gathering everyone on the sofas early this morning.
The bedroom has become out-of-bounds, the hot water has been turned off and the kitchen has been stripped of all but the most basic rations.

Chris Wright, Christopher Hall and Mark Byron briefly reunited with their family and friends as part of the latest Big Brother task yesterday (August 5).

Winston Showan and Ash Harrison then rejected the opportunity to add a further £2,000 to the prize fund by letting Helen Wood give them haircuts.

Chris Wright has become the fifth Big Brother housemate up for Friday's (August 8) double eviction, following a twist.
Big Brother gathered the housemates together and presented three golden envelopes containing three different figures hidden inside - £1,000, £5,000 and £10,000. Ash Harrison, Ashleigh Coyle and Chris were asked to pick one each.
Pav Paul, Christopher Hall, Mark Byron and Winston Showan - already facing the public vote - had to then choose which of the three housemates should join them in being up for eviction.
Big Brother stated that whoever they selected, the figure inside their envelope would be added to the overall prize fund.
The nominated housemates agreed on Chris, who then opened his envelope to reveal that he was holding £10,000. As a result, the prize fund now stands at £110,000.
Big Brother continues tonight (August 5) at 10pm on Channel 5.

The Big Brother housemates have passed their wildlife task.
In order to successfully complete the challenge, housemates had to replicate whatever behaviour was described by a wildlife commentator.
Actions performed by the housemates included Pav Paul eating the contents of the fridge and wiping yoghurt on his face, Mark Byron and Christopher Hall taking part in a 'mating ritual' and Winston Showan performing a toilet dance and a sex dance.
Chris Wright and Ashleigh Coyle took part in a number of actions, with Chris grooming Ashleigh by licking her ears. The pair then splashed each other at the 'watering hole' and rolled around the sofas to mark their territory.
Winston and Ash Harrison then competed against Mark and Christopher in a tribal dance, before the latter pair also retreated to the 'watering hole'.
The housemates were informed that they had passed the task, prompting them to dance in the garden in celebration.

Big Brother housemates Mark Byron and Christopher Hall fell out again yesterday (August 2).
The argument originated from a Big Brother task which demanded Helen, Winston and Mark to compete to become the 'strongest housemate'.
In the final part of the task, the rest of the housemates were asked a series of questions about the three competitiors. As a result, Christopher named Mark as the biggest game player, Helen as the most loyal and Winston as the most trustworthy.
Mark reacted badly to Christopher's answers, telling him: "You are closer to me than you are to Winston and Helen, so to call me a game player? What the f**k? You just think I'm an attractive game player.
"Why the f**k would you be close to someone who you think is a f**king game player?"

Big Brother housemates Christopher Hall and Ashleigh Coyle fell out yesterday (July 30).
The duo were discussing this week's website shopping task when Christopher wondered: "What on earth else can they do to us?"
However, his comment rubbed Ashleigh up the wrong way as she suggested plenty could still happen to her, as she had not been "degraded" as much as some of the other housemates.
When Christopher asked what was wrong with her, Ashleigh replied that she was "f**king tired" and warned that she would "f**king hit the roof" if Christopher continued to make similar comments.
Christopher eventually told Ashleigh to stop being "ridiculous" and chose to leave, telling her to stop being "so immature".

Christopher Hall has told Big Brother that he has doubts about his "friendship/relationship" with fellow housemate Mark Byron.
The journalist was speaking in the Diary Room the day after the pair had shared a kiss.
Explaining that he loves Mark's "melodramatic" character, Christopher added that he doesn't like him creating a scene in front of the other housemates.
"If you're trying to embarrass me or make a mockery out of me publicly, please don't do that because I won't hang around Mark," he declared.
When asked what he wants from the relationship, Christopher said he doesn't know where it is going as there are trust issues.
"If you're not prepared to show a bit of faith in me, I don't think it's going to work," he commented.
Prior to his conversation with Big Brother, Christopher had called Mark a "really good kisser", admitting to Ashleigh Coyle: "We had full-on snog underneath pillow mountain.

Some of the male Big Brother housemates became webcam boys yesterday - and these pictures prove that it's not a career they should be pursuing.
Following in evictee Danielle McMahon's footsteps, Christopher Hall, Pav Paul and Winston Showan put on their best pout for Bit on the Side reporter Luisa Zissman as part of this week's website shopping task.
The trio were informed that they must carry out everything Luisa ordered - and if her requests were anything to go by, she has some very unusual tastes.
First to try and please Luisa was Christopher, who was asked to put on a pig costume and get on all fours.
Given that he was also told to declare "Hi Queen Luisa, I'm your little piggy!", we're not sure we're going to be able to watch the whole thing.
Next up was Winston, who slipped into his best red thong for the occasion.

Housemates will embrace everything to do with the internet in this week's shopping task.
Big Brother has created its own version of the world wide web for the task and will be relying on the public to help decide the fate of the shopping budget.
A giant laptop will be placed in the house, and when housemates are needed they will enter a task room that's decorated like different websites. It will then look like the housemates are 'inside' the internet.
For housemates to pass the overall task, they need to gain enough hits over the two days.
In the first task, housemates will be given costumes and props before recording a 20-second video, with the aim of it going viral.
The public hold the power in this task as for housemates to receive the maximum amount of hits they are required to meet a certain amount of 'likes'.

Big Brother's Winston Showan has given four housemates their letters from home.
Winston had to choose which housemate's letters to save and which to delete from four pairs.
Firstly, he chose to save Helen Wood's letter, while destroying Mark Byron's. He also rewarded Ash Harrison with his letter from a loved one, but deleted Chris Wright's letter in the process.
The housemates congregated on the sofa to watch as Winston made his decisions in the Diary Room.
Pav Paul received his letter at the expense of Zoe Birkett, while Ashleigh Coyle received hers over Christopher Hall.
Winston and his four chosen housemates will receive their communications from home later today.

This week, Pav Paul, Zoe Birkett and Chris Wright all face being evicted during Friday's (August 1) show. But who voted for them?
In tonight's show, we see housemates make their nominations in the Diary Room, and there are a couple of odd reasons thrown into the mix.
First up was Ashleigh Coyle, who's immune from nominations herself. She voted for both Pav and Zoe to face the chop.
Also taking this decision were Christopher Hall and Winston Showan, who both nominated the two newbies.
Mark Byron also voted for Pav, but picked Chris as his second nomination.
Zoe decided on Chris as well for her first ever nomination session in the house, followed by Christopher. Her reason for nominating Christopher involved the fact that he never seems to wears shoes.
Ash Harrison used the same unusual reason to justify nominating Christopher, and gave Pav as his second vote.

The housemates took it in turns to get each other's hearts racing in the latest round of this week's shopping task.
The Red and Blue teams were given the challenge of individually staying calm while members from the opposing team tried to raise their heart rate.
As part of the Losers task, the one-on-one game was rigged in favour of the Red Team, but the housemates were left completely unaware.
First in the hot seat was Ashleigh Coyle of the Red Team, who faced Chris Wright, representing the Blue Team in the "scare" part of the task.
Chris attempted to frighten a blindfolded Ashleigh by getting progressively closer and closer to her face while her pulse was monitored.
The Red Team's Ash Harrison then tried to scare Steven Goode by screaming loudly. Steven's heart rate was shown to have increased more, meaning Ashleigh won the battle.

Big Brother will set a 'losers' task this week.
Housemates will be divided into Red and Blue teams, then pitted against each other in a series of head-to-head challenges.
The winning team will win prizes after every game, and then a luxury shopping budget at the end of the task.
However, the Blue Team will be unaware that the games are actually all pre-determined and the Red Team will win every time.
The real task will be for the Red Team to irritate and convince the Blue Team that they are incapable of winning, and reduce the Red Team's confidence.
The Red Team will be told that they will automatically win every game, but in fact, the deciding head-to-head game will not be predetermined, and will be fair.
If the Red Team win, due to the Blue Team believing they are incapable of winning and accepting defeat, then the...

Big Brother's Power Alliance has disbanded and Ashleigh Coyle has gone from Power Housemate to eviction nominee in the latest twist.
Previously, Ashleigh picked Chris Wright and Mark Byron to join her as a Power Trio, and they nominated Ash Harrison and Steven Goode for eviction, later adding Pavandeep Paul after hearing advice from their former housemates.
They then added Zoe Birkett into the mix, with Chris telling Mark that her popularity with the public means that she will be safe.
Ashleigh told Iris in the control room that she enjoyed being part of the Power Alliance because it was "fun", and when prompted revealed that Zoe was their fourth and final nomination.
She explained that her loyal friendship with Christopher Hall meant that they couldn't choose him, while Winston Showan was one of the only people who defended her during her issues with Helen Wood.

Big Brother will rig a set of challenges in an attempt to frustrate half of the housemates in the latest task.
The Losers task will see the house divide into two teams, who must compete against each other in a series of games. The teams have been chosen so most of the confident housemates end up in the winning Red Team.
While the Red Team, comprising of Ash, Ashleigh, Helen, Mark and Winston, must try to irritate and annoy the other team, the losing Blue Team - Chris, Christopher, Pav, Steven and Zoe - won't realise that the real task is to win the final and only fair challenge.
If the Red Team triumph in the last game, the whole house will be rewarded with a luxury shopping budget.
In one challenge, teams are tasked with connecting pipes together so that water flows to the exit pipe and fills up a barrel.
