From the moment Jada Pinkett Smith began promoting her new memoir, "Worthy," she was making headlines. In the weeks leading up to its Oct. 17 release, Pinkett Smith steadily dropped tidbits of information while promoting the book - though nothing was more shocking than the revelation that she and her husband, Will Smith, have been separated since 2016.
But her and Smith's relationship is far from the only topic that "Worthy" takes an honest, unvarnished look at. Pinkett Smith leaves few stones unturned in the memoir, opening up about everything from her early days dealing drugs in Baltimore to her Ptsd and dissociative disorder diagnoses later in life. She also offers an intimate window into her childhood, exploring the grandmother who helped shape her worldview, as well as her father's inconsistent presence and her parents' struggles with addiction.
Along the way, she dives deeply into the spiritual practices that have helped her survive and process her traumas,...

It may be time for Jada Pinkett Smith to bring herself back to the red table.
For years now, the actress and personality — known for movies like “Set It Off” and “Girls Trip,” as well as for her high-profile marriage to Will Smith and family life — has traded on a sort of tactical openness. “Red Table Talk,” a streaming series in which she, her daughter Willow Smith, and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris discuss personal matters, has, from its 2018 launch to its leaving Facebook Watch and going on hiatus earlier this year, helped rebrand a performer already recognized for her flair and edge as a say-almost-everything matriarch. And the vivid public life of Will Smith — including his dishy 2021 memoir “Will” and his turbulent 2022 Oscar night — has kept Jada’s name in headlines, too.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith have been married for 25 years – and the couple still needs to squash rumors about their relationship.
“We’re still figuring it out… a lot has happened,” Jada told People. “The thing about relationships is that it’s constantly moving. Relationships are, it’s an organism. It’s its own thing. It’s constantly shifting and constantly moving. There’s a lot that transpired in the last two years, and so we’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together.”
In Jada’s web series Red Table Talk, she explained that she had a relationship with August Alsina, an R&b singer, while she and Will were separated.
Alsina had previously claimed he was in an “entanglement” with Jada while she was married.
Jada, 52, clarified that neither she nor Will, 55, has ever had an affair or open marriage through the entirety of their relationship.
“I tell him all the time.

The time for Red Table Talk is over — at least for now.
Facebook Watch is shutting down all of its original programming, which includes the Jada Pinkett Smith-hosted talk show, our sister site Variety reports. The show’s production company Westbrook Studios, founded by Pinkett Smith and her husband Will Smith, is reportedly looking for a new distributor for the series, which features Pinkett Smith in conversation with her daughter Willow Smith and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris as well as special guests. “Red Table Talk,” the often-viral online talk show hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith, was canceled by Meta on Wednesday.
It was the last of the Facebook Watch Originals, which included “Steve on Watch” with Steve Harvey and “Piece of Mind with Taraji,” hosted by Taraji P. Henson.
According to Deadline, which first reported the news, series producer Westbrook is shopping the series elsewhere. Smith’s cohosts are her daughter Willow and her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris. TheWrap has reached out to the series’ reps for comment.
The cancellation of the Emmy-winning series comes as Mina Lefevre, Head of Development and Programing at Facebook Watch, exits the tech company amid the most recent round of Meta layoffs.

The Academy’s chief executive has reacted to Chris Rock’s scathing comments in his recent Netflix special, in which he addressed the moment he was slapped by Will Smith at the Oscars.
At the 94th Academy Awards in 2022, Smith took the stage and smacked the comedian, after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.
In his stand-up special Selective Outrage, which came out earlier this month, Rock spoke directly about the incident, calling Smith “a b****” and saying he had taken the hit “like [former boxer Manny] Pacquiao”.
He also accused Pinkett Smith of starting the feud between them, and said that she had hurt her husband “way more than he hurt me” by having a extramarital “entanglement” with rapper August Alsina.
Asked about the timing of the special’s release ahead of this Sunday’s Oscars ceremony, and whether it would put the incident back into public consciousness,...

August Alsina — the singer and reality TV star who famously had an “entanglement” with Jada Pinkett Smith — has not watched Chris Rock’s recent live Netflix comedy special, despite a report to the contrary.
In response to a report by Page Six, which cites a source who claims Alsina found Rock’s stand-up special “funny,” a rep for Alsina tells Et, “This is a lie.”
“Mr. Alsina has not seen Chris Rock’s special at all, as he’s been busy on tour,” the rep continued.

The breaking of Chris Rock’s silence about getting walloped by Will Smith at last year’s Oscars drew a decent amount of lookie-loos this past weekend.
The stand-up comedy special Chris Rock: Selective Outrage debuted at No. 7 on Netflix’s U.S. ranking of its TV shows for the week of Monday, Feb. 27 through Sunday, March 5 — meaning, the live, Saturday-night special had little more than a full day of eligibility compared to other programs that ranked higher and have been around longer.

Chris Rock has finally addressed the infamous incident from the 94th Academy Awards, where Will Smith slapped him while he presented the Oscar for best documentary feature.
Rock gave his long-awaited response to Smith’s slap in Netflix’s first live-streamed comedy special, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage. While he made some slapping references earlier in the act – “Anybody who says ‘words hurt’ has never been punched in the face” – the comedian started off by discussing a range of topics such as racism, woke culture, abortion, and Meghan Markle, before moving onto Smith and the on-stage smack.

His public addressing of the incident comes after months of refusing to make any comments to the press or speaking of it on talk shows. “I’m not a victim baby. You will never see me on Oprah or Gayle crying. You will never see it. It’s never going to happen.

Chris Rock was slapped by Will Smith almost exactly one year ago and, Saturday night, the comedian slapped back, metaphorically speaking. But critics are also wondering if Rock’s choice of Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre for his standup special “Selective Outrage” was more calculated than it first appears – because it’s Jada Pinkett Smith’s hometown.
The Baltimore Banner’s Leslie Gray Streeter called Rock out in a column posted Sunday, saying that Rock “contradicted himself when he ended his show last night saying that he hadn’t hit Smith back last year because he was raised ‘not to fight in front of white people.’”
“Isn’t that what you’re doing, my dude, while also joking about rooting for Massa to beat Smith’s character in ‘Emancipation’?” Streeter said, referring to Smith’s 2022 historical slave drama from director Antoine Fuqua. “Didn’t you come to a Black woman’s...

Nearly a year after the infamous slap heard around the world at the 2022 Oscars, Chris Rock finally addressed his dispute with Will Smith during his highly anticipated Netflix comedy special.
The comedian tested out material about the slap incident in the months leading up to the live special, though we've only heard whispers about it since audiences have been ordered to lock up their phones during his most recent tours. However, Rock let the world in on Saturday night when he laid out his true feelings about what went down between him and Will.
Near the end of his live-streamed special, "Chris Rock: Selective Outrage," Rock gave a no-holds-barred response to the slap, calling out both Will and the actor's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. "You all know what happened to me, getting smacked by Suge Smith," Rock said. "It still hurts. I got 'Summertime' ringing in my ears.

It’s been said that revenge is a dish best served cold, and that was proven in Chris Rock’s latest standup comedy special for Netflix, “Selective Outrage”.
Not only did “Selective Outrage” mark Netflix’s first-ever live global special, it was also the first time that Rock has publicly weighed in on being slapped across the face by Will Smith during the 2022 Oscars, and the comedian did not hold back.
“I’m going to try to do the show without offending anyone. Because you never know who might get triggered,” Chris said early in the show (via Variety), seemingly in reference to Smith.

Later, he addressed the elephant in the room. “You know what people say, they say, ‘words hurt,’” he joked. “Anybody that say words hurt has never been punched in the face.

Chris Rock tore into Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith during his historic comedy special on Saturday while addressing the infamous slap at last year’s Oscar’s ceremony.
The 58-year-old comedian roasted Mr Smith over the moment in Netflix’s first ever live global streaming event, where he blamed the Hollywood power couple’s well-publicised marital issues.
“Will Smith practices selective outrage. Because everybody knows what the f*** happened,” Mr Rock said in an extended riff towards the end of the 70-minute special. “I didn’t have any entanglements. Will Smith’s wife was f**ing her son’s friend, Ok. Normally I would not talk about that s*** but for some reason (they) put that on the internet. We’ve all been cheated on. None of us have ever been interviewed by the person we cheated on on television. She hurt him way more than he hurt me.

It was the moment many had been waiting nearly a year for — a chance to hear just how Chris Rock would finally address Will Smith’s Oscar night smackdown of the comedian on the Academy stage with a slap that will live in infamy.
Perhaps because Rock knew much of the audience who tuned in were waiting for just that moment, he saved it toward near the end of his set Saturday night during Netflix’s much hyped first live special Chris Rock: Selective Outrage!
But when the moment finally came, Rock didn’t hold back — taking down Smith, dragging his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and targeting the couple’s marital issues (in which Pinkett Smith acknowledged a relationship with singer August Alsina as the couple addressed their marriage on an episode of Red Table Talk).
“Will Smith practices selective outrage,” Rock told the audience. “Outrage because everybody knows what the fuck happened.

It was nearly a year ago that Will Smith marched onto the Dolby Theatre stage and smacked the piss out of host Chris Rock in the middle of the Oscars ceremony — all for the crime of making an off-color joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hairdo. You surely know what happened next: instead of removing him from the venue, the Academy allowed Smith to stay, leading to a surreal, rambling acceptance speech (through tears) when he won the Best Actor Oscar for King Richard later that night. Comedian Chris Rock unleashed his full fury on Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith during his live “Selective Outrage” Netflix special on Saturday night, blasting them both for the bad blood that led to the Oscar-nominated actor slapping Rock at last year’s Academy Awards.
It wasn’t until the end of the one-hour special that he lashed out with a year’s worth of resentment. “She started that s—-,” he said of Pinkett Smith’s comments that he should quit hosting the Oscars where he joked about her and Will’s boycott of the 2016 ceremony because Will wasn’t nominated for his performance in “Concussion.”

The criminal trial against Tory Lanez began on Monday, more than two years after Megan Thee Stallion accused the 30-year-old rapper of shooting her in the feet after a pool party at the home of Kylie Jenner in July 2020.
The 27-year-old has been at the center of a maelstrom since coming forward with her allegations against Lanez in August 2020. Tory Lanez was released from house arrest over the strenuous objections of prosecutors on Monday as jury selection started in his felony assault case alleging he shot Megan Thee Stallion during a drunken dispute in July 2020.
“I will terminate the house arrest at this point. The main reason is that during trial, it’s difficult to have a client who’s not accessible. I’m doing this mainly for the trial preparation aspect,” Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Herriford ruled before calling in the first pool of prospective jurors.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has said it is investigating claims that Tory Lanez assaulted August Alsina last September.
Alsina claimed on Instagram that the alleged assault took place after Alsina declined to shake his hand when the pair met in Chicago.

As Tory Lanez awaits trial on felony charges he allegedly shot at — and wounded — Megan Thee Stallion in her feet during an attack in Los Angeles two years ago, the rapper is now facing accusations he assaulted singer August Alsina in Chicago over the weekend.
Alsina’s allegations, shared online with multiple photos showing the Louisiana crooner’s bloody lip and other wounds, are now the subject of an out-of-state inquiry from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which is prosecuting the firearm assault on Megan.

Singer August Alsina claims that he was attacked by Tory Lanez and shared photos of his injury.
Initial reports claimed that the pair got into a fight, leaving August knocked out after they exchanged words.
It is alleged that the singer took issue with Tory’s comments about his “entanglement” with Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

However, in an episode of her Facebook talk show, Red Table Talk, Jada admitted to having a romantic relationship with Alsina when she was separated from her superstar husband.
