Chesney Hawkes has been replaced by former X Factor star Chico in ITV's Dancing on Ice. The 'One and Only' singer suffered a severe ankle sprain and a fractured fibula while practising basic steps with dance partner Jodeyne Higgins. The competition's physio informed Hawkes that he would no longer be able to take part in the competition. Chico, who shot to fame during the 2005 series of The X Factor, wished Hawkes a quick recovery. Chico said: "Whilst I'm really excited about being part of the new series of Dancing on Ice it's not necessarily in the best of circumstances. I wish Chesney all the best and a speedy recovery. I will not just be skating for myself I will be skating for Chesney as well and do him proud." Hawkes added: "I am gutted not to be taking part in Dancing (more)...

Jason Gardiner has backed the judges decision to eliminate Johnson Beharry from ‘Dancing On Ice’ because he said his semi-final performance was “boring”.
The nasty dance expert, who judges on the ITV show, thinks it is only fair that the former soldier and his partner Jodeyne Higgins failed to make next week’s final after losing in the skate-off to Chloe Madeley, because he was the least talented skater left.
He said: “His first routine was very dull and boring – the same thing we’ve seen week after week. Sunday was not a semi-final performance. His solo routine was incredibly basic. He looked unstable on his feet.
“He was concentrating on staying upright and everything else fell by the wayside. Very underwhelming.”
While Jason admitted Chloe – daughter of presenting duo Richard and Judy Finnegan – is a “little battler” he is unsure if she has what it takes to win the ITV1 competition.

Dancing On Ice contestant Johnson Beharry is said to have taken a bad tumble on the rink this week, while rehearsing his latest routine.
The Iraq war hero was said to be attempting a difficult lift with Jodeyne Higgins, when his legs gave way and he toppled forwards.
Former series winner Hayley Tamaddon witnessed the fall, as she is rehearsing for the tour at the same practice rink and describing it on This Morning she said:
Johnson he is so focused, he doesn’t falter. They’ve got a really difficult lift this week and he was a bit shaky on his legs the other day and he fell forward and everyone watching around the ice rink gasped. Because if Johnson falls it’s a big deal, it really is.

Johnson Beharry may be the bookies favourite to leave Dancing On Ice tonight, but that didn’t stop him from trying his best during prop week.
For tonight’s live show, the Iraq war hero had to skate with a hat and an umbrella and speaking on This Morning on Friday, former winner Hayley Tamaddon admitted that a brolly is probably the toughest item to incorporate into a routine, as it is so unpredictable when thrown.
Skating to ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’ by The Overtones, Johnson and Jodeyne took on a much slower paced number and we were a bit bored by half way through.
What content it had was great, but compared to Sam Attwater’s bag of tricks, it was all very slow and basic. In fairness to Johnson though, at least he didn’t drop any props….

Johnson Beharry is attempting a new lift on tomorrow night’s Dancing On Ice.
The Iraq war hero will try to impress the judging panel with a move that no other contestant has ever dared to perform. He is approaching the challenge with his usual determination and told The Sun that he is fully confident about his routine.
Johnson told The Sun:
“Tomorrow I’m doing a lift no celebrity contestant has done before.
“I swing my partner Jodeyne Higgins around 360 degrees and she’ll do a backflip in my arms.”
“Only Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill have done it on the show before.”
“I feel really confident about it. I was criticised for starting slowly on the show but I’m glad I took my time as I have now built up my skills and confidence.”

Dancing On Ice: Johnson Beharry attempts first high lift with Jodeyne Higgins to ‘She Will Be Loved’
We were slightly worried when Johnson Beharry took to the Dancing on Ice rink tonight.
This week is the Ultimate Skills Test and as well as a step sequence, a jump and a spin, the Iraq war hero decided to attempt his first high lift in which he needed to raise his professional partner Jodeyne Higgins above his head.
The pair skated to ‘She Will Be Loved’ and were dressed in beautiful matching pale blue satin outfits. Beharry lifted Higgins with no more than a little wobble and landed all his spin jumps steadily. It was a much better performance than we imagined and you could see the pride in his face as he finished.
Judges Comments:
Jason Gardiner: 4.5 I thought that your steps and jumps were quite fair, the presentation was missing for me. Without question you have improved and I do applaud you for putting in the...

Dancing On Ice insiders have claimed that during their weekly results show, war hero Johnson Beharry is receiving more public votes than any of the other stars.
The Lance Corporal – who was awarded the Victoria Cross military honour for saving colleagues in war-torn Iraq – is partnered with pro-skater Jodeyne Higgins and has been impressing both the judges and viewers of the ITV show with not just his routines, but also his attitude and general unflappable and cheery demeanour.
Sources say that Beharry has now become the one to beat, with one ITV insider telling The Daily Star:
“Why do you think we don’t reveal the voting figures?

Johnson Beharry has broken his finger during rehearsals for ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The Lance Corporal – who was awarded the Victoria Cross military honour for saving colleagues in war-torn Iraq – severed his finger this week after a skate blade landed on his hand, and is now said to be terrified the injury has ruined his chances of winning the hit ITV1 show.
Johnson was taken to the hospital, where doctors treated the injury and banned him from performing dangerous moves for at least eight weeks to give his left index finger time to heal. This decision means he won’t be able to lift his dance partner Jodeyne Higgins for at least a month.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Johnson has already overcome so much to be on the show, but this could be the end of him.

Johnson Beharry made his first appearance on Dancing On Ice tonight.
The Iraq war hero is partnered by skating professional Jodeyne Higgins and could barely stand up on the ice when he first started to rehearse. When he came out at the show opening he almost made Jodeyne, fall so we were terribly nervous for him from the start of the evening.
The pair skated to ‘Wishing On A Star’ tonight and before he started to move we heard an audience member shout out ‘you’re a hero’ which we think said it all. We were actually pleasantly surprised by Beharry’s routine in the end, he even managed to lift Jodeyne steadily and made it around the rink without falling at all. Whether you've been waiting for it or didn't expect it, here comes the time to express my thoughts on Battle of the Blades, a reality show shining by its presence alongside another reality show called Dragons' Den in CBC's schedule grid.
For those who don't know, the show (hosted by Ron Maclean and Kurt Browning), which is recorded live at the Maple Leafs Garden in Toronto, is more or less formatted like Dancing With the Stars and Dancing on Ice, a British reality show in which celebrities are paired up with a figure skater. Moreover, eight former NHL stars are paired up with eight female top figure skaters. Each week, Canadians decide which couple survive after the first performance (Sunday at 8 Pm) and which ones go in the bottom 2 the following day (Monday at 8 Pm) in order to perform for their survival.
