Director Alex Herron’s Dark Windows introduces a conventional slasher setup that pits a masked killer against vacationing teens but teases a potential twist: what if the teens aren’t so innocent?
Brainstorm Media’s upcoming horror thriller will release in Select Theaters and On Demand on August 18, 2023. Bloody Disgusting can exclusively debut the new trailer and poster for the upcoming slasher that sees a masked killer invade a quiet weekend getaway. There’s no where to hide for the teens fleeing from a tragic event.
The film is said to “take audiences on a ride of passion, loss, terror and horrific, unthinkable ways of seeking revenge.”
In Dark Windows, “A group of teenagers take a trip to an isolated summerhouse in the countryside. What starts as a peaceful getaway turns into a horrific nightmare when a masked man begins to terrorize them in the most gruesome ways.”

The new film from the Coen Brothers, A Serious Man, comes out next Friday, and we have an exclusive new clip from the film to give you a sense of what you're in for. Just don't ask the Coens what the whole thing is about, because if they know they're not telling. We do know, however, that it's blooming good, and that it's all about Larry Gopnik (Michael Stuhlbarg), a Jewish physics professor in a quiet Midwestern community in the 1960s who's experiencing something of a midlife crisis. Both in his personal and professional life everything seems to be falling apart - and his confrontation with student Clive Park (David Kang) in this clip doesn't help his rapidly deteriorating state.A Serious Man is out on November 20 here, so you can see the whole thing at that point and try to explain to us what the bit at the start is doing there.

Chicago – “A Serious Man” isn’t the story of Joel and Ethan Coen’s lives. But you might not necessarily know it. While the brothers continue to turn their films into Hollywood gold, this 1967-set black comedy is among the more personal projects in their repertoire.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
That gamut is growing into a serious catalog with “Burn After Reading,” 2007 best-picture Oscar winner “No Country for Old Men,” “The Ladykillers,” “O Brother, Where Art Thou?,” “The Big Lebowski,” “Fargo” and “Raising Arizona” now under their yamakas over the course of two decades.
While the yamaka is designed to signify deference to god, “A Serious Man” pays homage to the Coens’ culture in an authentically Jewish way. But this is more than just one of the more Jewish films you’ve seen since “Schindler’s List”. “A Serious Man” is powered by a highly internal script and actors who externalize a series of very unfortunate events.

There are two things present in every Coen Bros film – crime and fools. Usually the fools are the ones committing the crimes and trying (failing) to get away with them. However, it never feels like the brothers have any sympathy towards the “heroes.” On the contrary, it often feels like they enjoy making up idiots so they can point and laugh at them. In this film, though, they seem to finally flip that and reach out a helping hand to Larry Gopnik (Michael Stuhlbarg), obscure as that help may be. The Coens are among the smartest writer/directors working today. Heck, they translated Homer’s Odyssey into a Depression-era Midwestern road trip. Their worldview finds humor in oddities and discomfort – a handshake that lasts a few seconds too long, an unwanted hug, an awkward silence after a bit of stupidity has been uttered. It is in the mundane that the...
