After streaming platforms became as popular as they are now, it became clear that the age of the standard cable network TV format was over. Shows have become much shorter as the wait between seasons has become much longer, regardless of genre or ratings.
With the recent WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes that took place in the summer of 2023, the production schedule for any studio has become a mess. Now, however, it's rewarding to see the shows we love overcoming any difficulties the circumstances created and getting back on track.

Netflix finally unveiled an official teaser for the second season of The Sandman yesterday, and it featured a first glimpse of Esmé Creed-Miles as Delirium, Adrian Lester as Destiny, and Barry Sloane as The Prodigal.
Though we did get to see Delirium's face, her full visage was somewhat obscured, and this new behind-the-scenes photo gives us a better look at the Hanna star in-costume as the youngers of The Endless.
In Neil Gaiman's comics, Delirium is the current manifestation of the being that started out as Delight. The character is a little... mixed up, but is loyal to her family and proves to be an invaluable ally to Dream during the events of "Brief Lives."
Check out the photo below along with yesterday's teaser.

With each Endless being in-charge of a specific domain, and with each having sovereignty in their domain, they are characters who can hold their own.

The Endless have assembled!
Netflix has shared a brief teaser for the second season of The Sandman, reintroducing the members of The Endless we met during season 1, Dream, Death, Desire and Despair, while providing our first glimpse of Morpheus' remaining siblings, Destiny, Delirium, and "The Prodigal."
Esmé Creed-Miles will play the youngest of the Endless, Delirium, while Adrian Lester will take on the role of the all-seeing Destiny, and Barry Sloane will play The Prodigal.
Anyone who has read Neil Gaiman's comic series will know who this really is, and while it wouldn't seem like much of a spoiler to reveal the name, it's clearly something the show is choosing to keep under wraps for the time being.

After spending decades in development hell, a live-action adaptation of the Neil Gaiman comic book series The Sandman actually made it into production and was released into the world as a Netflix series in August of 2022. (Read our review Here.) Season 2 of the show went into production last year, then had to be put on pause for a while due to the writers and actors strikes. Thankfully, The Sandman season 2 was able to resume production as soon as those strikes came to an end – and today, a press release reveals that the cast of the new batch of episodes includes Esmé Creed-Miles (Hanna) as Delirium, Adrian Lester (Hustle) as Destiny, and Barry Sloane (Pleasureland) as The Prodigal. Their characters can be seen in this promo clip:

Vicky Knight plays a nurse injured in a fire who falls in love with a patient in Sacha Polak’s sombre, thoughtful drama
Here is a tough drama of damaged lives which reunites director Sacha Polak with lead performer Vicky Knight, the star of her 2019 film Dirty God. Knight has spoken with courage about her own childhood experiences of being scarred in a pub fire in London and this film draws on her life, both in terms of her survivor’s story and her adult existence; like her character, she has worked in healthcare.
Knight plays Franky, a nurse haunted by memories of the blaze that injured her, and also by her unresolved feelings about her errant dad who ran out on the family when she was little. Franky falls in love with a troubled patient called Florence (Esmé Creed-Miles), who has tried to take her own life. Franky’s...

The title is also the name of a famous marijuana strain, which some of you might recognize. Franky works a nurse and lives in an East London borough. Obsessed with revenge and a need to assign guilt for a traumatic arson event that occurred in her past, she is unable to build meaningful relationships - until she meets her own patient Florence. Together they escape to the coast where Florence lives, and Franky just might be able to find the emotional shelter to deal with the grudges of her past. “Silver Haze,” directed by Sacha Polak, has debuted its trailer (below) ahead of its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in the Panorama section. Polak’s last film, “Dirty God,” was in Sundance’s World Dramatic Competition, and was the opening film of Intl. Film Festival Rotterdam in 2019.
“Silver Haze,” starring Vicky Knight and Esme Creed Miles, is being sold by New Europe Film Sales. French distribution is being handled by The Jokers, and Cinéart is looking after Benelux distribution.
The film centers on 23-year-old Franky, a nurse who lives with her large family in an East London borough. Obsessed with a thirst for revenge and a need to assign guilt for a traumatic event that happened 15 years before, she is unable to build any meaningful relationship until she falls in love with one of her patients – Florence.
They escape to the coast where Florence lives with her more open-minded patchwork family.

Standing out in the TV landscape has been a challenge that has kept countless execs and creators up at night over the years. So in today’s small-screen climate of limitless choices, limited runs and sky’s-the-limit ideas, the population of audience-grabbing A-listers has inevitably swelled. As with any good all-you-can-consume menu, however, appealing to a wider variety of tastes through diverse talent and unique concepts with specific voices is emerging as a critical component in attracting — and retaining — an audience. As a result, the number of relative newcomers in leading roles has also increased, especially in this year’s lead actress race.

One of the latest big ticket TV series to land on Amazon is Hanna, a series that follows a teenager brought up in the woods by her father (Joel Kinnamen) and trained to be a fighting machine.
Originally a feature film in 2011 directed by Joe Wright, the eight-part series expands on the story of the film as Hanna (Esme Creed-Miles) learns about her background and explores who she really is, while evading pursuit from the mysterious Marissa (Mireille Enos).
The whole of series one is available on Amazon Prime, while the show’s already been picked up for season 2. We sat down with creator and writer David Farr and the show’s star Esme Creed-Miles to talk feminism, existentialism, and what we might...
