It is seldom that the director, actors, and executive producer of a film beg the public to refuse to go see their movie. But in the case of Dying of the Light, this is neither a publicity stunt nor a weird request: Paul Schrader, Nicolas Cage, Anton Yelchin, and Nicolas Winding Refn have an apparently good reason for wishing audiences to boycott their latest film.
According to a recent Facebook post by Dying of the Light helmer Paul Schrader, the film was “taken away from me, edited, scored, and mixed” without the director’s input. This has resulted in Schrader, Cage, Yelchin, and Winding Refn deciding to make their annoyance known, down to wearing “non-disparagement” t-shirts that indicate they’re not allowed to say anything against the film.

Paul Schrader, the Taxi Driver screenwriter and director of last year's Lindsey Lohan un-comeback The Canyons, has lost his battle to release his version of Dying of the Light. A trailer for the action thriller—which stars Nicolas Cage as a CIA veteran who's diagnosed with dementia but remains determined to hunt down the terrorist he thought he'd killed years ago—debuted on Wednesday, and it's officially slated for release on Dec. 5. The trailer proudly advertises itself as a Paul Schrader film, but he claims that the producers took the film away from him during the editing process. Despite being...

It’s not often that production on a movie starring Nicolas Cage is upset by a squabble between the director and studio. After all, Cage is known for his eccentric acting methods, sudden bizarre outbursts and big bug eyes that’d make a Spartan soil themselves in fear. On Dying Of The Light, however, the crazed, brilliant man has been well and truly upstaged by director Paul Schrader.
For the movie in question, Schrader was at first content to write the script, (then set to be directed by Nicolas Winding Refn) before climbing aboard to direct. He’s since gone tete-a-tete with producers in the editing suite. While the first image from the movie has landed – surely a sign things are at least gearing up to a release – controversy surrounding the finished product has arisen.

Morgan Spurlock's new Comic-Con documentary Comic-Coc Episode IV: A Fan's Hope has been acquired by Wrecken Hill Entertainment and they will be distributing the film, with plans to release it in the Spring of 2012.
I'm not the biggest fan of Spurlock, the guy and his films just seem to annoy me. But I love Comic-Con, it's my favorite event of the year. The documentary will be interesting to watch, and it will be good introduction to people that don't know what Comic-Con is really about. As for people like myself and like many of your, we live the adventure every year for real, and we love it.
Here's the full Press Release with all the deatiled information:

Morgan Spurlock's latest documentary Comic Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope was one of Peter's favorite movies [1] at Toronto and one of my favorite movies [2] of Fantastic Fest. It's a totally different film for the Super Size Me director as he stays off camera and follows several unique people on their journey to the mecca of pop culture, San Diego Comic-Con. In doing so , Spurlock dissects not only why Comic Con is such an amazing event, but why we geeks love what we love. The film is beautiful, inspiring, funny and, up until today, had only played at festivals. That'll change next year because Wrekin Hill Entertainment and the National Entertainment Collectibles Association have acquired the film for theatrical distribution in Spring 2012. In addition, the film will tour larger venue and bring audiences outside of San Diego their own kind of mini-Comic-Con experience complete with Q&A's, contests, presentations,...
